why not using DC early?
I think luring the tektikes shouldn't be too hard

the only problem left is, if it's still faster, because then we wouldn't use talon skip and DC early would take about 2:30 to do.
MrGrunz is a guay
Acryte tested it and luring the tektites takes about 1:30 then actually getting into DC takes another 30 seconds.  2 minutes extra plus the frustration of the tektite hover makes it completely worthless.  The only time early DC should be used is in low% (which after almost a year, I still haven't done early DC on my low% file)

darklink23jdm - That escape forest glitch was a good one. Have you done that on console and so is it really easy one and you don't need almost pixel perfect positon for it. I've tried it many times but without succees. Could you please help me to get it to work? I can try it out myself too. If I can get clip thing work it could save more time from segment 4 Smiley
Yes I have,it would only take about 10-15 minutes to make it on a console, and I would be happy to help you  Smiley . Also Runnerguy has also told me that he also pulled it off with some help of mine.

Do you have AIM or anything where we can talk or can you give me some tips here? I haven't yet tried it myself. Maybe I can get it if I watch that video closely and try make it work same way Smiley

Yeah, I followed the video and was able to do it in about 20 minutes on my N64. I wasn't able to replicate it within the next hour so maybe I just got lucky but it seemed like a good sign that I was able to hit it so quickly.

I'd try and record it but my current method of recording means I must play without sound, which makes it near impossible to guess when the Business Scrub is going to fire off a nut.

EDIT: Ok, I just did it again! I spent about an hour and a half this morning trying it. During a segment, this would be a lot more time, since you'd have to reset every time you mess up where I was just going right back up after every failed attempt. But it's definitely possible. I've got the angle I used and the position fresh in my head so maybe it will get easier.

EDIT2: I have no idea now. I thought I was starting to get somewhere but just spent probably another hour or so and have had no success. If this can be hit consistently (or at least in 10-15 minutes) then it seems I'm still missing something.  Undecided

I got message to youtube how to do this but still cannot get it. Anyway those instructions wasn't perfect anyway Grin

That guy who have done this on console should tell how he aimed himself. I tried to get this on emu about hour and still haven't get it. What is main point on this glitch anyway!? How link can clip in the bridge. I don't see any point in it. If I can know that would help alot to. Does anyone know what make link mainly go to inside of that bridge? Sorry, I don't want to be sound bad or anything but I've spent enought time on this damn trick anyway without success Cry

And I think if somebody explain it enought well or make somekind of explanation video. That would help alot! Thanks anyway!

AKA, if you wanted to do DC early all you need to do is get the tektites staggered timings... so it's JUMP (#1), JUMP (#2), JUMP (#1), JUMP (#2). Like that, take 2 tektites and get the timing staggered. then you just have to backflip and hold your shield out... find the rhythm and you'll get it, it's not too hard man, just takes practice. Not nearly as hard as when I was using 1 tektite and swordglitch off that little step by the bombflowers and trying to move horizontally all the way over there with a tektite... but hey, maybe you could go up that step and then megaflip off it with 1 tektite? Could be an easier way to do it, not sure, you'd have to test it.

Kazooie,

I had the most luck when I didn't look at where the B button was on the screen (as is the case when aligning most tricks) but I focused on the yellow marker on the map. I tilted it to about half way through one of it's slanted positions. It's kind of hard to explain. Basically I would find the limits of where it would shift to a new position, and then try and guess where it was in the middle. The position had the tip of the yellow marker bent to one side. I suppose I could make a video of this if you wanted to see what I'm talking about.

I remember the TAS guys saying Link clips from UNDER the bridge somehow. I think this is true just by looking at darklink23jdm's video. If you hit play and pause fast enough, you can see that it looks like he misses the tree completely to the right of the tree, but then clips to the bridge anyway.

Position is very important too. This is probably the hardest part because it seems very easy to end up too high (remember, if you are clipping from underneath the bridge, you'd have to be low). You want to have the tip of Link's hat flush with the black part of the wall (just like in darklink23jdm's video) and you want to have the C-buttons in the right spot on the walls as well. Same goes for Link's feet, you have to make them exactly where it is in darklink23jdm's video if you are going to try that method. I've had so many that look close but I just zip past the tree and nothing happens. I'm not sure if there is anything that needs to be done with the sidehop or not. Sometimes it seems like I get more horizontal distance than other mega sidehops.

I'll try to make a video that shows me doing it on a console

Thanks guys! With those informations I think I can get it. But I haven't played oot now because I'm on holiday this whole week. So I will play oot after that.

Thanks darklink23jdm if you manage to do video of it but it's not necessary. Smiley

Thanks Kazooie and good luck and have a good holiday
Hi. I haven't been here a while, and I suck at glitching. So can I ask someone to try something for me?

This:
Plus a forward side hop and a jump slash? It might work, but I'm not all too sure.

spent alot of time over there. Im highly doubtful about that.
is this new to you guys or old

Hey guys,

I was able to record escaping the forest on a console. I've done it 3 times now, in 3 hours and 10 minutes of attempting it. I show the angle I used, and how I set everything up.

I also have about 30 frames slowed down so you can see where I am and how I clip it in slow motion.

hi oot community im new on SDA  Smiley

btw that forest escape was really nice^^
it is quite hard with 2 nuts. i got it sometimes with luck but i prefer the 3 nuts escape cause its much easier imo

Okay so working off the idea of using the Escape the Forest trick for Low% (all temple) run, I have a couple of questions.

1: After you enter Hyrule Field does Mino go away. If no then skip #2.
2: Do you need the Koriki Sword (specifically) to beat the game.

I ask #2 because I believe that you can do the infinite sword glitch with a Deku Stick thus dropping the requirement of the sword.

1.  Mido goes away after you get Zelda's Lullaby, not entering HF, but its not much of a difference
2.  No, deku sticks will works fine, but you cannot get bombchus from spirit temple/BotW

Not sure if anyone cares, but I've finally completed my low% run.  I just gor a quick burst of motivation 2 weeks ago that came out of nowhere, and I finally did the tektite hover + DC w/o chu.  Then I beat DC 2 days later thinking that KD would be hell, but was much easier than I thought.  I just kept going at a steady pace and today finally beat it with 18 items (aprox 7.06%).  I also calculated that with good chu usage, the ganons castle chus can be skipped and make forest come before shadow saving a bit of time.  I think its much more speedrunnable than I originally thought, and I might give it a shot one of these days...

I also updated the route.
I love people who do 2 Medallion runs but I want to do a 6 Medallion run (when I get a DVD recorder). I did it a couple years ago (I think) before I knew about anything and I thought it was incredible fun. I figure it be a good thing to at least get one of every type of run up on SDA so.

Also when referring to low% how does BA (Bottle Adventure) work into the equation is it total # of items collect or # of items you finish with. If you transform an item does it count as both (I'm not that familiar with the glitch so I couldn't pick one out).

People are more leaning towards not having BA in a low% run as it would be nearly identical to the BA any% and personally I think it introduces alot of ambiguity

You should definately use acryte's sequence of glitches to get magic w/o explosives to save you a trip to and from the market and a couple of rounds of bombchu bowling

...for a TAS.  Beating DC with only 10 chus then do a tektite hover folowed by a no ISG seamwalk then to a very hard jumpslash to the great fairys fountain would be near impossible in 1 segment.  You have better luck winning the lotery and getting struck by lightning on the same day.  And anyway, after magic you go to the graveyard to go to Shadow to get hover which will cost at least 1 chu and you already use all 10 in DC.

And I just have to ask this: Has anyone ever done the tektite hover on console?

I haven't seen nobody do it on a console yet,but i'll try to make one.

Like chaosv1 said, most people don't want BA used in low%, but I've actually done some calculating and the only way BA can lower the % is is ruto's letter can be gotten w/o dive from OoB (which I tried today, but couldn't get it due to horrible OoB camera.  I think TASers might have a better chance at it though).  Then you could get ruto's letter + cucco bottle and BA 1 arrow to skip bow, quiver and minuet (but only lowering the item amount to 17).
