The speed that you were reaching the tunnel was very simalar to what I'm getting i.e. 34 secs. Since the balcony tactic is much faster than mine then you must be losing time as you're approaching the ruppee and the training area to the tunnel. Most of the time was lost because you rolled towards the first two green ruppee's and then grabbed the ledge, which from what I understand makes it easier for you to line up and do backflips over the fences.
EDIT: Gurr got 2:10, but I grabed the ledge when I backfliped out of the training area.

Yep, it's much easier to line up using the ledge that I grab... I'll stick with this tactic forever, even though it's slower. That try could easilt have been a 2:07 or even 2:06 if I had immidiately gotten 1+3 rupees from the bushes... Oh well.
I'm glad the quality's fine, though... I'll upload segment two in a while.
Edit: Here it is, Segment 2:
Please tell me if it's fine for now or if it sucks. If you think it sucks, then tell me what's bad about it. Be kind to me.
Well Yautja perhaps what might be a beter sugestion instead of grabbing the ledge would be to roll up backwalk and backflip, which would surely save 2-3 secs. The little mistake when getting the second blue ruppee probally cost about 2 seconds as well and the ruppee manipulation wasn't unfortunatley the best. When you exit the training area you grab the fence and continously roll to the stream Why? Maybe its wrong to mention since I'm being picky but the shop area wasn't exactly the best even though we're probally only talking about a fraction of a second. From manual timing your ruppee run was 2:10.72, which was a very simalar time to TSA's run. DId you notice why I approach the the Deku Tree cutscene in the way I do? Thats because
1. Neareast point to activating thescene 2. Increased odds of being lined up correctly with the tree
That mistake at the very end costed you about a second cost you.
Theoretically based on what your doing you may be able to get

2:01 for the ruppee run [glb]VERY SCARY[/glb]
Let's not go overboard here.
I'm not backflipping past the out of the training area because I noticed that in your and TSA's vids you never get the perfect backwalk to the river... In that try I'm going in a straight line from the sign to the stream... I'm not sure if it's faster but I'm pretty sure that it's equally fast. I could be wrong though.
I know my rupee manipulation was about as bad it can get and still work, I hope I'll be able to do better there.
You're right, I walked into the wall in the shop and lost half a second.
The "little stunt" in the end of the Kokiri Sword area was totally unintentional, but at least it brought me in the right direction.
I missed one slash at the Deku Babas, as you said.
I was trying to roll as far to the left as possible when entering the Deku Tree cutscene and I swear I held the control stick left... but Link rolled forward. Whatever.
Muhahaha 1 up I just recorded a 2:07 (.40 by my timing) I'll upload it later. I took 1 sidestep too many in the boulder area when going to the chest and I read the sign as well. Apart from that its almost flawless from what I was trying to do.
Gotta check that one out later... I just had a almost pixel-perfect run up to the bushes and I succeded in slashing all three with a spin attack...
...then I got exactly 25 rupees without even moving!
Then everything went to hell. I missed two slashes at the sign, and when I hit it the rupee went flying so I had to collect it. I did fine up to the shop were I missed the rupee behind the counter TWICE. I didn't run back far enough.
I had the perfect try, and I screwed up. I feel totally incompetent right now.... but I wont give up, I'm gonna try more tomorrow, if not tonight.
2:01 is possibly if you get all 4 rupees you need from the spin attack near the first bushes.
Yeah, that's exactly what I did.
I managed a 2:06 rupee run this morning, and I'm really gonna keep it like this. Even though the perfectionist inside me screams for a better time, I have to move on. I mean I have like, 40 segments left.
This is probably the most criticized segment in the entire run (along with the Deku Tree), then I'm moving into areas no runner has been before, I will have nobody to compare times with, which is both good and bad, but it will help me get through this run faster (or it will help me get through this run at all).
It's looking good so far. Don't kill yourself looking for absolutely perfection in every segment; it's a huge run with a decent margin of error. I think as the run goes on it will be a lot easier to make as you will be treading a new path.

Yeah, I think so too.
Also, I noticed another thing in the route:
Quote:
Segment 22:
Backwalk to Lon Lon Ranch Get Epona(Epona) Ride to Kokiri Forest Enter Kokiri Forest(gs3) Goto lost woods and trade odd potion(poacher's saw) Goto Sacred Forest Meadow(gs6) Cross the maze easily with a groundjump and head over to Shiek(gs7, Minuet of Forest) Enter Forest Temple and save and quit
I can't get that skulltula then, since it requires the bean or longshot. I have to get it when I deliver the eyedrops I think.
When I made that I assumed you were planting that bean. I guess doing it while delivering eyedrops can work too though; it's not much of a deviation.
Okay.
I will be splitting the Deku Tree up into two segments, the first ending after getting the slingshot. In the second I climb the ladder, perform the vine text skip and complete the Tree. This may actually be a little faster than doing it in one whole segment, I dunno.
LoL...splitting up the Deku Tree...oh man, good idea.
Well, I guess save-warping in dungeons should be re-examined...I have to redo my Segment 3 again now.
I'm always trying to take save-warping into account when planning dungeons... even though I first thought that save-warping in the Deku Tree was a little absurd.
There is really only one place where you can do that and it's by saving after the slingshot... I'm not sure if it saves time but it's really helping me in this 100% run. Somebody should compare the time it takes to exit the slingshot room and get back to the chest (for vine skip) and the time it takes to get to the chest from the entreance.
Edit: Later in the game, FW will probably be a better choice than save-warps, though. At least in a 100% run.
