Umm...  Why not just do that?  It's easier and faster.  I posted it awhile ago in this topic.  You must've missed it.  Lips Sealed

Nah, I saw it... Wink

I just think it's slower than doing the hover-boost, if you're coming from Death Mountain Trail. Maybe it's not? I'll check when I get there... Right now I'm at the Lost Woods collection segment (in my run through).
He's back!
Is there an actual target for this game or is it just sub 7
We really aren't clear on how fast this will be; the target is whatever time we get from a good route and good execution.  I'm pretty sure it will work out to be sub-7; it was debatable if it would take 2 extra hours to get everything with the knowledge we had back when TSA did his 4:57 run; now, with prize upgrade, child spirit, early bottom of the well, and early shadow, I think we stand to save a ton of time.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I can get under 7 hours. It's a long run, though.

Edit: Problem.

In segment 22 (adult section), the route says that I should grab the 2 first big poes. However, I don't have the bow. :-/

Unless you want me to kill them with the hookshot (not even I would be crazy enough to attempt that), we need some adjustments... I'll see what I can do, but I'm not good at planning... Sad

Edit: Another problem.

In segment 21, I'm supposed to grab the Goron Tunic while running to Kakariko with the mushroom. But the damn goron wont talk to me after I've bombed him! It must be the timer that disables talking to him.

:-/

Edit: Nevermind about the Goron. It works fine, I accidentally had a groundjump stored when I tried to talk to him. Roll Eyes

I'm sorry, but how does the ground jump work? I've heard about it but can't find how to do it on the the threads.

Explanation:

1) Drop a bomb in front of you.

2) Slash with your sword.

3) Press grab (against the bomb), then quickly press Z+R before link grabs the bomb.

4) Hold down Z+R until the bomb has exploded and pushed you away (if you take damage from the bomb, you wont get a ground jump).

5) Try to backflip and you will do a ground jump.

Wink

Edit: I ordered myself a dvd recorder. Should have it in a weeks time, or something. Smiley
Um, oops.  Well, this is why we do these sort of tests...

Well, obviously those two big poes are going to wait.  I think if you're confident in your speed you can get them while you go to deliver the eyedrops to Biggoron.  It's a fairly short timer, but they are on the normal route.  That's the only place I can think to put them without making a special trip.  Then again, our bottles are already full then...  We could savewarp after getting the first poes of that segment and then simply go back through the segment and get the ones south of Lon Lon Ranch while we have the eyedrops.  If that proves unsatisfactory, I'll see what else I can come up with.
Speed is the key.
It might work... That timer is really short, though.

4 min?

Yeah but they don't expect a backrun right? Plus... I haven't viewed the route, but will you do the damage boost to get epona? And if you fdo and already have epona then it should be easy.

Yeah, I will already have Epona. I hope you're right, I don't remember how long that timer is. :-/

I will use the damage boost if someone could tell me how to get ontop of the gate in the ranch.

You know...I never actually do this step while ground jumping. It's unnecessary IMO.

You have to press grab to get a ground jump, don't you?
No, I didn't even know that grabbing was part of the original method. What I do is:

plant bomb, pull sword, hold R, hold Z, take a step back, put sword away, wait for explosion.

I've never had a problem storing ground jump this way. The only thing ground jump depends on is that the action button says grab when the bomb explodes.

Doesn't work for me.... The actual grabbing is the thing that triggers the ground jump, so it doesn't seem like there's any way around it.

Edit: Okay, you modified it... Well removing the sword is just harder IMO. Tongue
Haha, sorry about that. I totally spaced as I was thinking about how it works and I left some parts out. Oh well, to each his own  8)

I completed the Forest Temple and I'm now at the Water Temple... Sad

I hate the water temple, the place is like a maze to me... and I have to get all 5 skulltulas + I have hover boots... so it wont be easy to come up with a route for the water temple...

Edit: Shit. I just screwed up my save-file by doing unintended stuff in the water temple with hover... I was one key short when I reached the room with moving platforms. Angry

I'll start over now. Smiley

Do you know how to get ontop of the gate in Lon Lon Ranch (the one you need to stand on in order to skip the horse)?
No the Quail is not riding the Q

Putting the sword away and grabbing the bomb is the same thing. Tongue (So long as you don't let go of the shield)

you have to use a bomb boosted groundjump jumpslash to get on the fence. I never pulled it off, though fluffy kitten says that once you get it it getss easier and that he has gotten it. I'd ask him for a vid if you want to learn it. I can show you a vid or 2 of me failing if it will help anyways...

Uh-oh... I heard that the bombchu-boosted ground-jump is very hard to perform. Is it just to pull out a bombchu in midair and "jumpslash"? Or do you have to do some crazy trick with bombs?

Good Lord. I will have to practice that.... Tongue
Heh, yea. I tried to no end to get on top of that friggin fence but i couldn't. Fluffy_kitten said he managed though, so we could ask him for a video demonstration if it doesn't work out. Skipping the horse races will sure save a good amount of time.

No more digi cam :(.  Kind of why I haven't been posting as much.  And to get on the fence I use a mad cucco.  It gives you more height.
