I remember I lost my sword once by doing this in MQ.

I got the golden scale as a child then stole the rod and put the sticks on B.Then got the letter from ruto and gave it to king zora.I then had 0 sticks cause I kept screwing up jabu early.I then got a fish and when I caught it I put the bottle over the sticks. I saved inside jabu after.

I think what caused that was the last part when I put a bottle w/fish over the sticks in the subscreen.
Catchin' them all
Nothing really special, but I finally decided to start recording a run through the Water Temple as a child.

Segment 2 (1 will follow later):
Alternate shadow temple shortcut. ZeldaxMaster found this.

Eeeeyah!
I dunno if this is new or not but I found a way to get Milk onto the B button bottle. First you need to get the B button to have the bottle on it. Then get Cojiro. Go catch a fish in the B bottle. Now go win the Big Quiver from the shooting Gallary or the Gerudo Archy mini game. Put Cojiro onto C Right. Drop the fish out of the B bottle. You'll now have a half drunkin Milk. If you pause the game and look over where the Quiver was the Goron Bracelet will be there. If you try to pick up a weed or anything it still won't let you.

That's awesome, looks faster than the current method... but then again you can't hover slide all the way onto the ship.

I don't think this has been posted yet. Skip Zelda's Lullaby cutscene:

Wow, nice that I didn't finish a great segment 7 before this came up. Smiley

That would be death abuse.  Are you sure you want this run in a seperate category?  And where are you going to get 3 1/2 hearts worth of damage without going too far out of the way anyway?

Death abuse wouldn't be a problem, it would replace the run anyway if I asked for it to do so.

Taking damage... well, that's a problem I guess. I'll look into it, but it probably wont work out.

Probably the gold skullata in the tree.

edit:wow, we both posted at the saem time. >_>

Yeah, that's what I thought, but it takes away a full heart every hit... I'd have to find a different way to lose another half a heart.

What do you do in segment 7?
How much damage does a bomb take a way? A quarter?

Basically, exactly what I did in the old segment 6.

-Go to hyrule castle
-Get the skulltula from the tree
-Go see zelda
-So on

Half a heart.

Half.  I know you can only activate the gaurd throwing the bomb once, but I only tried it after talking to zelda.  If you can do it before and after, then you got it.

Get hit by a Peahat, maybe?

EDIT: Try what ZFG said first.

iirc, I've done it before the cutscene and tried it after the cutscene and he didn't throw the bomb. Then again, I may be wrong.

edit: And I'm sure a peahat takes away a whole heart.

I tried a peahat, and with the double hearts upgrade, it took away half a heart. This probably means that it also takes away a full heart when you don't have the upgrade.
I tried the peahat and it does take away a full heart. I'm also going to try zfg's theory with the bomb thing.

Man, this seems like such a silly thing to get stuck on. Angry The only other thing I can think of is one of the Deku Babas in Kokiri Forest or the giant boulder.

Well you could combine 6 and 7.  Plenty of things to get hurt by in the deku tree.  You'll lose about 10 seconds from no savewarp though.

EDIT:  Whoa 16 posts in just over an hour Shocked

Heh heh, I've got it. After getting the Kokiri Emerald (segment 6), get hit by a Deku Baba, then save. Problem solved. Smiley

Damn, that means I'll have to redo segment 6. Well, no problem, it's not particularly hard anyway and I had a screwup which cost me a quarter of a second that I could clean out while I'm at it.

Also, this trick could probably be used for the Bolero of Fire and Minuet of Forest cutscenes. It might not be practical because you'd have a lot of health by that point, but it could be used for the Minuet cutscene in an any%.

That, and you'd restart a lot farther away from the place where the cutscene occurs. I doubt it would be useful in a 100% run.
