Wow. Omfg Mad_Andy.  I've been trying to find ways to get on that roof forever (never expecting it would lead to that).  Really nice find!  8)

I don't know if that would be considered a boundary violation as long as you stick close to the wall.
Everybody loves Hypnotoad!
I don't think it is a boundary violation.  you are quite clearly on ground, the same sort of ground on the other side of the wall, and you do not go  through any solid objects to get there.
Hehe, thanks Smiley

I tried getting on top of that fence, and it's quite hard. It's possible though, just a tiny levitation (equivalent to the height of ground jump) and a damage boost from a bomb and you're on top. The problem here is that once you activate ground jump you can't use bombs  :-/ Dunno, maybe a damage boost from a cucco?
forum lurker
I got up there by doing a ground jump then getting hit by a Cucco  :D.  when I got up a Cucco knocked me down  :o.  I then gave up.  Angry
Mhm, does anyone have a route plan so far?
Everybody loves Hypnotoad!
Could you use this to get onto the fence?

And no idea on what the route would be.  Segmented would be a VERY good idea.

man, there is nothing that cannot be done in OoT. Good times.
Could you use 2 bombs? Set 1 then 2 then do the grab on the 1st one and then set up the boost off the 2nd? the timing would be tight but maybe...

I had been trying the ground jump boost for 3 hours straight when i found out the trick but it didn't work, you're not fast enough. I also tried the 2 bomb method but you don't have enough time. Seems like the ground jump + cucco boost is your best bet since fluffy_kitten managed to get on the fence with it.

Also, when you're on the fence probably you can just jump off the side of it to grab onto the roof. This will lower the possibility of a cucco knocking you down and screwing up everything.

Yeah!  Damn those cucco's!!!  Angry

" I also tried the 2 bomb method but you don't have enough time." I have more than enough time to try it. Shield drop the first, then sidehop 1 time. Then wait (the longer you wait, the more preparation time you have after shielding the blast) draw your sword while kicking you towards that other bomb and also changing the view w/ z. then do it and you have like 1/2 - 3/4 a second to wait before doing the groundjump. I just don't think you can get high enough w/ that though. I was trying for quite some time.

It's easy to get on the fence using my two bombs trick.  You'll get the timing after practicing about 200 bombs.  What do you mean about not enough air to get on the fence?  Did you do a jumpslash before the omb blew up?  Because if you didn't, that's why you're not getting enough air.

Hooooo so that's why it wasn't working for me..... Tongue

I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
I'm just wondering, in water temple there's this room where you have a blue switch under water and you aparently need to push a block onto it. Now, i never knew that and only recently discovered you were NOT supposed to just go down there with iron boots, wait till the water is raised and equip normal boots and swim towards the door. Now, 2 questions : is this room skipped and does everybody know about this?

Also, is anyone actually going to do the run?
forum lurker
You can skip pushing the block and stepping on the switch completely by using hover boots to hover over to the other ledge.  You can also step on the switch until the water has risen all the way, then put Kokiri boots and swim forward.  You will grab the ledge.

That second part is what i was trying to descibe i was doing always. I guess hover boots will tear the water temple apart anyway.

Uhh... fluffy, are you talking about the fence in lonlon? because I am   Kiss if you are then shame on me though.

Lenny - Yes this is skipped. You in fact would go lower the water level. Then sidehop and jumpslash to the middle level and bomb the wall and get the key. Then you'd open the chest down below after killing the clams and then you go back to the main level and go to boss key. So you do skip that block pushing thing.
_______

edit: I just bombed myself through the wall/fence corner... and fell through the map til respawn.

Yes I was talking about the fence.  Never fell through the wall before though LoL.  Although I'd believe it, because while bombing myself over the wall to get the 37th heart piece, I've bombed myself right through the wall.   Cheesy

Edit:
This can help save a few minutes while doing the Biggoron Sword Sidequest.

This allows you to get to the scientist in less then 30 seconds instead of just barely making it to him.  I don't it's a violation either, as you're still in the map.
I would've thought we'd do the biggoron sword quest before doing water temple?

Ho, and by the way, does the hookshot have to be picked? I had a go with AR cheats on and if you have the longshot you can't get the hookshot after racing dampe. The game figures you already had it so he just gives you the piece of heart.

If you can manage to get the longshot before the hookshot, you don't need the hookshot.  It's like the prize upgrade glitch, you don't need the silver scale if you have the golden scale.  Tongue

Speed is the key.
You can glitch inside the water temple without the Iron boots, but it's definitely a boundary violation.

He's back!
You don't need iron boots to enter the temple if your using the house glitch, but there is no way your gonna get the longshot without the hookshot. What about that waterfall room with lowering stair platforms.
forum lurker
I was never able to get in that house as an adult, but I can get in it every try as a child.  Must not have been trying hard enough  :-/.
By all heart pieces, does this mean that you're required to get the 37th heart piece? And are there anymore heart pieces in the game that was unintended for you to get?
Everybody loves Hypnotoad!
hmm, now that is a good question...

If you get the 37th heart piece, does it show up on the quest status subscreen?
No the Quail is not riding the Q

You mean the one in Gerudo Fortress as a child?
I think the only way you can reach that heart piece is with the Crooked Cartirdge spin attack.
