When I start to capture in VirtualDub, no info shows up on the right side of the window. When I stop capturing, I get a VirtualDub error window that says "Warning: No frames captured." It goes on to suggest I turn off overlay, reduce the image size, and reduce the image depth from 24-bit to 16.

Help please Cry

Are you following nate's faq to capture with huffyuv at 320x240x29.97?

Nate's FAQ says set NTSC captures at 640x480. I set it to what you suggested, though. Both resolutions were set to 29.97 fps, and it still isn't working.

ADD: I just thought, what if my GeForce FX 5900 isn't a capture card? How do I find out?

The fact that you're already in capture mode and you surely have a yellow video in going into the card?

320x240 is the "old card" capture resolution... the full resolution is indeed 640x480.

Do you see anything in the preview window?
Yeah. I can see my attempts and watch it and whatnot all on the monitor. I hit "Capture AVI...," the video keeps playing, no numbers or anything show up in the right side of the window, I hit F6 to stop capturing and I get that window.

If you can see it in the window then you definitely have a capture card... I've never heard of it failing to write frames like you describe though. Are you sure you set a good place to record the file and the correct resolution, framerate, codec, sound settings etc?
What sound settings should I have? I have the LAME codec, if that's what you mean, but could you elaborate more on the settings. All the other stuff I have as Nate's FAQ dictates.
