Ok, I'm running winquake on xp.

How do I play these QDQ files in quake?

The .txt says to "start Quake with the command-line option "-game qd100qr".

What? How would I go about doing that? I put it into the console and it told me there was no "-game" command.

Any help would be appreciated, cheers.

Don't type it in the console.  When you start up quake, use a dos prompt. That's where you type in -game qd100qr

If you're using a modern source port such as JoeQuake, there is often a 'game' or 'gamedir' command you can use in the console to switch. For example, in JoeQuake:

gamedir qd100qr
exec quake.rc

...will run the project's menu just as if you had used -game qd100qr on the command line.
if you're using windows, you can create a shortcut to your preferred executable (i.e. winquake.exe, joequake.exe or whatever) and then in the shortcuts properties you can add your params (-game -heapsize etc) in thetarget field.
Thanks lolfu, worked great!
