Hi everybody. I faded out of the community again sometime after AGDQ (although I attended and it was a BLAST) and I remember before that I was trying to bring my arcade machine there, at the time I had two. Well, it turned into a bit of an addiction and I now I have five arcade machines and three pinball machines in my house. Been really wanting to get back into the community as I miss everything about it a lot and I miss running, and a ton of my things got compromised by some asshat in another unrelated community a few months back (and I forgot my e-mail after Twitch got hacked and made everybody reset), and since I'm pretty much out of the loop on everything else at the moment I figured I would share. The pinball machines that did get brought to AGDQ 2015 by PAPA seemed to be a big hit and although my stuff is a little older I certainly wouldn't mind u-hauling my collection down next year for all to enjoy. I'm sure that's for another thread in a few months from now, though.
Not sure if anybody is interested and most of my stuff is the more classic stuff besides fighters but here are many different pictures I could dig up at different phases in my collection. It's an expensive hobby even more so when you're 17 but through-out all I've learned to repair them and keep them going I would say it's pretty worth it and whatnot. All games are set to free-play. I started out in a junk filled garage and slowly emptied it out to accommodate my games and to make it a comfortable space. Currently about to paint and install electrical outlets for all of the games onto a new empty breaker as soon I'm going to start popping the existing ones.
My (then) two games side by side:
Machine #3 comes home, 12/31/2014:
Trio:
My first pinball machine pick-up, 01/07/2015, the night before I left for AGDQ 2015:
Machine #5, 02/21/2015, delivered cheap from the Southern tip of Delaware:
This machine was the most dead (as shown) and took the most effort to bring it back to life and many hours:
Up to four now (pinball machine was in another house for a few months) and only half of the garage cleaned out:
Made some room in the row for the newest machine:
Game #5 in the row, probably the heaviest game I've ever had to move, full MDF with MDF shelving inside, metal control panel, and a 25" CRT monitor, heavy for sure: (04/01/2015 I picked this one up.)
Second pinball machine delivered from Southern Maryland and picked up before the Pinfest 2015 expo show in Allentown, PA. This game hasn't been played since the 80's likely and was left forgotten in a warehouse and had mostly factory original bulbs in it, a staple in pinball back then hence the wear, cool time capsule piece nonetheless:
Much heavy lifting and other things later:
Solid state pinball machine technology:
Filling up:
Last week:
Two days ago I picked up the final machine that will fit in the garage without some serious re-arranging: (Picture taken at seller's house by him)
Home:
My phone died before I took take pictures of the last one set up the other day before I had to travel and I still want to replace a few pieces on each pinball machine before putting this last machine in the row which will basically prevent me from accessing the backbox and further-back insides of each machine without pulling it out again but I'll be sure to deliver pics once I do. Definitely still a little bit to clean up (my own mess from repairing, now) and tweak with the room and it will be nice. Hope you enjoyed the pictures, maybe I'll be able to bring all of these down to a marathon sometime to let everybody enjoy them as originally intended years ago, but I'm sure that proposal could be brought up later on and the purpose of /this/ thread is simply show what I have and maybe start some light discussion. Hope you enjoy!
