Yeah. You just never know what might be there. It could be as simple as getting out of bounds and they put that trigger behind the elevator. Just something like "after player kills Vamp then load countdown sequence and move trigger into elevator".

Do you guys have a video of that book placement bug? I'd be interested in investigating/toying with it, have you compared it against claymore placements?

On a side note, it appears that the majority(or all?) of MGS2 oob leads to just falling into wonderland

It's nothing major. You just lay in a tight area (one where if you don't FPV Raiden will autostand sort of thing) then look up in FPV and lay the book. His camera will look through the wall/object while he lays the book. The claymore is not as good for this but still sort of works.

Earlier we took a break and tried MGS3 since we have great potential for a big sequence break there. We already found 2 new glitches (being able to equip items on a ladder and semi stand up in a crawlspace) but as usual with our luck it leads to nothing.

We might go back to MGS2 for a couple of 4-5 hour glitching sessions but that's about it. MGS3 is the main focus right now.

Didn't want to start a new thread for it but I figured out a way to stand up in 99% of crawlspaces in MGS3:

Ones with a large horizontal crawlspace won't work.

I'm curious what will come out of this. A pain skip would be pretty crazy, i'm curious how far that trigger goes out :B

I'm curious if you find a crawl space in virtuous mission by sokolov, could you get out by the fence and walk toward ocelot boss fight area, if the trigger still exists then you end up fighting ocelot and skipping the end of virtuous and beginning of snake eater?

That was our original goal (and still is).

It's a realistic goal I think since at least we are in the same map as the loading trigger (heck even if it only gets loaded inside snake eater we skip the ocelot unit fight). We will only know once we get an OoB in that area and make it behind the gate. I guess an encouraging factor is that old sequence break on the mountaintop. It's there without even needing the key. I know of 3 potential skips:

1. What we just discussed.
2. The Pain boss skip. I played around with it more and it looks impossible to jump from where I showed. Maybe with pixel perfect jumping you could just make it into the water. One positive thing is if you follow the crawl space to the highest point just above Snake's head is solid ground. It's a place where you can simply jump down into the boss fight. It's only accessible from after you beat The Pain so if you can somehow levitate Snake up like 3 or 4 feet you would have the skip guaranteed. That sounds like ridiculous to levitate Snake but with another crawl space in the same area if you run into it Snake will climb and run on thin air above the normal confines.
3. When you are in the warehouse you just need to get that key from Granin. If you can OoB in that area you might be able to glitch into the door which would skip having to go see Granin and also skip The Fear fight (the loading trigger should still be there since it acts similarly to the mountain top sequence break).

I can't think of anything else.

Interesting MGS2 glitch. Have to test it elsewhere. Read about it on a forum weeks ago but never tested it.

Get to Strut E and go to the north side where the boxes and shelves are. Crawl under until you get into FPV mode and press X. You can't stand. However, equip the Coolant and press X. Raiden will stand up inside the boxes.

It looks like for specific circumstances the game isn't checking Raiden's position with an FPV item. You just need to emulate those same conditions elsewhere and that will be crawlspaces broken.

yea that's been known for awhile, as far as I could tell it was only related to those specific shelves and it didn't work anywhere else (that i found)

anyone here done or figure out to do out of bounds in Strut A? There are OuB done in speedruns like the swim to Vamp OuB.
So thought maybe it can be done in start of Plant level and Fortune fight. here my attempts so far. Not sure who was the first found the Strut A OuB.
