I just completed Medievil for the PS1 and I want to do a speedrun of it. (I'm thinking single-segment 100%) Can anyone give me some good strats, bugs or really anything I can use for running. Thanks.

I haven't done a speedrun yet and so right now I'm just making some notes on things, like how many chalices give which items and the quickest ways to dispatch enemies. I also need to take less damage, thats a big problem in some levels.

I'm using a PAL version of the game if that helps.

I hope to start practice running in the next couple weeks, and maybe do an actual run sometime after exams (around end of may start of June)

I appreciate any help. thumbsup

No, the OTHER Marvel!
Funny, I've been trying to plot out a run of this myself.  MediEvil's always been a favorite of mine. Smiley

Well, the one thing I can say is at the moment is to take a look at the TAS of this game.  It does some things that aren't quite possible for a human to do, but it does give some insight as to some of the shortcuts and weird bits of programming that are present: (video) (notes)
Cool, thanks man.

Yeah, Medievil was one of those games I could never do as a kid and then I recently played it and thought it was awesome.
Hey, if you need any help with the game I will gladly help. I know all of the glitches :b.

Here is the biggest thing I have found in the 2 years I have played this game, it's also the hardest trick in the game.

Also a shameless plug for the Gallowmere Wiki:
http://gallowmere.wikia.com/wiki/Speedrunning:Speedrunning

It has information about the game casually on there if you haven't played before and want to get to grips with the game (i'd recommend looking at some of the stuff).

There's also a speedrunning section I put together with knowledge from (shoutouts!) Crash41596, as well as Torn338 (responsible for the TAS), WhipCPL and LukeRF44 (who holds 100% world record).

It's mostly Any% on there at the moment with regard to the general route etc. but it also has an explanation of the major glitches (http://gallowmere.wikia.com/wiki/MediEvil/Glitches) which are required for Any%: Inventory Glitch and Level Looping. Also info on run categories (http://gallowmere.wikia.com/wiki/Speedrunning:Categories).

Hopefully this wiki section will get you interested so we can get more runners for this game! So feel free to ask anything. I'll help as best I can.
I'm actually just playing through the game normally right now, taking my time and making some mental notes when I try to play it faster.  I'm probably going to need a lot of practice before I'm good but this wiki helps out immensely.
