Would a run of the game Mario Party 1 be possible if you did the mini game island? What is your guys intake on this? What do you think about this? Please Post Below In The Space Provided.

The mini game island would probably depends since its a "side quest" kind of thing.

Technically I think you could speed run Mario Party 1 regardless because unlike the others there was an actual "You Win" point in it. Though there would be a lot of luck involved.

Hi there.

I don't see why the mini-game island couldn't be ran. You pick a character, pick a helper and you start at world 1-1 up to world 9-something, I believe. There's save points throughout the island if you want to do it segmented, there's a branch at the end of world 3 to world 4 or 5 (100% could be the completed all the stages).

The problem is that some mini-games just can't be done any faster because there's a time limit (Bowser's Face Lift, Cast Away, Grab Bag, Coin Shower Flower, etc) but others are just fine (Most of the single player mini-games, Mushroom Mix-Up, Slot Car Derby 1 & 2, etc) so there is some potential. Depends on the SDA crew.

As for the rest of the game, not so much. It's all about playing the game and gathering something like 100 stars, but you can't do it fast or in an interesting fashion. I guess you could plug four controllers and plot to get as much stars as possible, but that would be silly and boring.

You could also work on any mini-game that has a record possibility for fastest time, such as all the races (Bobsleigh, Mine Carts, Slot Car Derby, The Secret Bumper Balloon mini-games, etc). I'm pretty sure SDA would accept those.

My feelings on The Demon Rush

I know nothing about the mini-game island, but from what Moostafar is saying, it seems runnable.

I consider "Winning" beating Eternal Star and buying "The Ending". When you get 100 stars Bowser steals them from you and your forced to play Eternal Star until you "win them back". From there you "reconnect the eternal star". After you beat it, an item appears in the mushroom shop called "Credits" that you buy for 100 coins which presents to you with the ending sequence of mario party.

Also Bowser's map is an unlockable, you unlock it by playing on all six of the regular adventure boards, then purchasing it in the shop for 980 coins.

Back to mini-game island, mini-game island is a 1-player game where the player goes through all mini-games in order, like the stages in the old Mario games. To progress to the next mini-game, you must accomplish the goal of the previous mini-game. Each time you beat a new mini-game, you earn one life. You lose a life when you lose a mini-game. You can also get an extra life when you get 100 coins.

Also since a list was needed below is a list of all the mario party mini games that I found in various guides for mario party 1-4:

As a fun fact side note that may save someone's time and sanity if they ever want to try speed running mario party 1, it is possible to get the 100 star present from Bowser's roulette. However, Bowser just runs away if you get it though and doesn't give you anything =(

As a fun fact side note that may save someone's time and sanity if they ever want to try speed running mario party 1, it is possible to get the 100 star present from Bowser's roulette. However, Bowser just runs away if you get it though and doesn't give you anything =(

Why are you listing the mini-games that have a fixed time limit? 90% of the mini-games listed here aren't speedrunnable. I guess mindlessly copy-pasting stuff from gamefaqs is fun

My feelings on The Demon Rush

Oh, I should have mentioned this earlier (though it should have been obvious), but I only need a complete table of mini-games that can be run. Fixed time length mini-games are not runnable.

BTW, Cyberscore will probably have some good times you can use as a basis.

We all know that the majority of them can't be run, no need to be rude...

Anyways, I remember minigame island being my favorite part about Mario Party 1, but i don't recall many of the games in it so I'm really not sure how speedrun-able it would be. I think it would be very interesting though, hopefully a run like that would be accepted.

A single-segment run of this would be very tough, mainly because of how much luck/randomness is involved throughout the mini-games you would have to play. Buried Treasure could just screw you over, Mushroom Mix-Up is just plain tough and you're just holding your breath on TightRope Treachery and Bombs Away (though those could be skipped if the route used Worlds 3 and 4), Hot Bob-omb is complete luck and Pipe Maze is pretty much complete luck (with you wanting a 25% chance to succeed as opposed to wanting it to fail with Hot Bob-omb). However...

None of these would have such potential to kill a run as Bowl Over, 7-4. The pin setup makes it impossible to hit all three character pins a good amount of the time, resulting in failure. Then Running of the Bulb is tough, especially if you lose all your teammates, and then Slot Car Derby is there in World 9 (twice, and the second race is what worries me) to offer a tough skill test, another very potent run-killer.

Bearing that all in mind, I would love to see a single-segment run of this game! Completing the 42/43 mini-games (depending on which path is chosen--3/4 or 5--42/43 also includes Slot Car Derby 2) all consecutively would be very impressive in my opinion. I would also enjoy watching a segmented run (segmented by world), and 100% runs could also be done by completing all 50 mini-games and then doing Slot Car Derby 2, SS or with segments, making for four run possibilities here (provided the admins approve). I may attempt some type of run in the near future, and I just wanted to give anyone else interested some info.

Good find: 1-3 Coin Shower Flower's win condition is get 20 coins, so you can get 20 coins and then fall off the flower, saving 10-15 seconds.

Edit: Something else I discovered that will save a tiny bit of time. On the mini-games where you're supposed to collect a certain amount of coins, don't collect anymore than you need. This will save the time it takes to tally up those coins.

Yeah I was gonna mention that about not getting more than you need...no reason not to! You're probably right about Pipe Maze/Bowl Over, I just had more success with Pipe Maze the few times I tried them, oddly enough. The problems I've had with Worlds 3 and 4 are Tug o' War (I'm not very good at rotating the Stick, so this isn't a big deal), but more notably Skateboard Scamper! I tried this game three times in a row and lost (to the same CPU) every time. It seems like a crapshot at the end for who the game picks to win, and I dunno if tapping B faster helps...maybe it does, but I can tap fairly fast and it wasn't doing any good. Maybe I'm not as fast as I think...I don't know.

If I attempt something here, it's probably gonna be segmented, since a single-segment run just doesn't seem realistic at this point.

Just thought I might bump this up...

A couple things of note:
I think for Pipe Maze it might help to physically draw out all the possible maps, because I don't think there's that many. Edit 2: Never mind, I played 14 straight games without one map repeat, so I'm thinking it's random, of if it isn't there's too many different ones to be practical to draw them all out. It's just going to take some fast eyes.
What I've found helps me for Skateboard Scamper is to be behind when the camera shifts and there's no more Thwomps. I've tried being ahead the entire time and I always lose, seeming to lose to the person in last at that time. The game seems to give the last place person a bit of a comeback pull, letting them win. I don't know if this is entirely true but this is just from my personal experience.
Slot Car Derby the only times you need to pull back is on the turns, the smaller the turn the more you have to pul back. This is more notable in the Slot Car Derby 2, which if I was running the Island, I'd do all 50 games and beat Toad.
With doing all 50, I'd do World 5 first, then go back to do 3 & 4. World 5 is faster to navigate.
My only real issue with luck would be games like Bumper Balls, that depend on CPU cooperation, and Buried Treasure, which depends on total luck.
Another edit: How fast do you think you could make Coin Block Blitz? I got one with 48 left but in the 50 tries afterwards could only get 43...

I think this could be done without too much trouble.
