Alright, I've done my best to compile the suggestions from this thread and update the first post.  Unless any of you have special tie-ins with any of the listed sites, you can assume an admin will make contact.  A little elaboration on how to contact Podcasters would be helpful.  Also, I haven't marked Proton Jon as "done" because we're not really done with him until he posts our promo video, which should be coming along.

One good suggestion would be to make a fliers to put in local game shops.  Does anybody have any ideas for their design?

I just spent an hour or two making the flier I mentioned earlier. I'm not artistic in the slightest, so please don't expect much. I asked my sister to use the tablet (she hasn't used it much, so...) to draw two pictures: Haggar (for Emptyeye) and something more known for general-use. The other one ended up being Pikachu, but I don't think it would've worked nearly as well as Haggar did. The speech balloon doesn't really work for the little yellow mouse, you see.

Anyway, if you have any suggestions for minor touch-ups/changes, I still have the InDesign trial for another week.

P.S. Her idea was to have the Awesome Games Done Quick thing written on his fist instead, with some sort of magnification to show that. The problem there was that neither one of us knew how to make that happen. Tongue

It should probably mention what a speedrun is since a lot of people havn't used that terminology. Pehaps give some examples of times or brag a bit. Mario in 5 minutes?? , Ocarina of Time in just over an hour!?!?

I reckon a lot of people are drawn to this site becuase of the "wow that cant be legit" mind set when told about certain runs.

I understand what you're getting at, but I think the "done quick" and "100 games in 4 days!" (added in the revision) at least hint at what a speed run is. I thought about trying to squeeze in some more specific information, but the thing is a little too text-heavy already for a flier. Unless I drop the font size on the bottom-left column, I think we'll just have to hope the readers put the pieces together. :/

Also, I really wanted to add some sort of "POW" symbols behind the three things added near Haggar, but I have no idea where to find something like that.

If you think it's good enough, I guess so. I'd recommend the version attached to this post though.

After talking with Pootrain about some specifics, I have three new versions ready now. I'll attach all four versions to this post and call it a day, I think.

For the record, I'm still biased against reusing the banners. Tongue
