Stamina is maxed out!
I saw a bounty for a 12+ hours run in the respective forum, and am curious if anyone else is interested in building this kind of play - obviously SDA isn't the perfect forum, but am just putting out feelers to gauge the interest level. I've been involved in marathon gaming for about 10 years now, and am always looking for competition and fellow endurance players.

Current marathons I'm working on: (All are in one continuous sitting)
Phantasy Star 1, 2, 3, 4 and PSO Ep 1 and 2, and Ep 3 CARD Revolution
Final Fantasy (GBA Versions) 1, 2, 4, 5, 6
Shadow Hearts, SH:Covenant, and SH: From the New World
Lufia: FOD, Lufia 2: ROTS, Lufia: TLR, and Lufia: TROL

Anyone else building marathon runs? Let me know, I'd love to me fellow players of this style!

I've started thinking about doing Legaia 1+2 RTA, which are about 19 hours combined.  The amount of "Why am I doing this?" statements will be pretty overwhelming if I ever pull the thing off.  (Of course, Legaia 1 is 11 hours on its own, so that's practically already a marathon/endurance run in and of itself.)  There's a chance that there may be a Legaia 1+2 RTA race in early August, depending on if a good time can be coordinated.
Obscure games ftw
About a year ago zorasknight and I did a Final Fantasy 9 'insanity%' (basically 100% minus excalibur II since neither of us knew a fast route to get it while not skipping other missables) race.  My finish time was over 39 hour: and I would definitely do it again.

Wow, awesome! Glad there's actual interest in this - I've been considering trying to drum up support, maybe make a group or something. FF9 was actually the first major record in college to be set by one of the fellow marathoners. He finally beat it - we went for length, not speed, so grinded as long as he could until he was almost asleep, then finished - after 46 hours straight.

Legaia 1 + 2 is an interesting idea. I know a lot of people who've played the first, but few who played the second.
Everyday is puppies and sunshine...
It sounds more like this is an endurance/longevity thread, but my Quest for Glory run spans four games so far which imports the hero from game to game.  It's only clocking in at 1:15:00 or so now.

Quest for Glory, what a classic. Ever heard of (goes by lots of names, but I know it as) Series Laps? It's where two or more people play a series of games (like SMB, SMB 2, and SMB3, for example) through and through for a set period of time, the winner being whoever got through the series the most times before time expires, usually like 12-24 hours. Quest for Glory would be perfect for that! Thanks for the idea.
