There is a new Majora's Mask single segment by Jiano in 1:53, SDA time.

(hotlinking isn't allowed, but copy/paste the urls into your address bar and they will work)
HQ version with commentary: http://www.zeldaspeedruns.com/site/speedruns/mm/jiano_ss/majorasmask_SS_jiano_153_HQcommentary.mp4
LQ version without commentary: http://www.zeldaspeedruns.com/site/speedruns/mm/jiano_ss/majorasmask_SS_jiano_153_LQ.mp4

Main changes from the current 2:03 run are using the VC version (saves 2-3 minutes), a few minor tricks like Scarecrow's Song skip, some small route changes, better execution, and radically different dungeon routes in Stone Tower Temple and Woodfall Temple.
Hot linking isn't allowed on the site, so the links don't work.
Copy and paste the URLs and they should work.

Also, the run is up for verification. Edit: Never mind, it got taken down. Must have had enough verifiers already.

f*** yeah, can't wait to watch this, thanks for the links  Grin

EDIT:

Ok watched it. The run was awesome as expected and the audio commentary was terrific. Very nice explanations of what was going on with all the tricky tricks.

Do you mean Virtual console version? Is there difference between N64 & WII version? Most games are normally indentically same.
Stand: Devil's Call in your Heart
also, there's no known version differences between the N64 and Wii VC releases so far.

The VC version has faster loading and less lag.

Anyway, me and my bros on Skype were talking about how VC runs should be compared to N64, and I think we've found a solution. Basically, while loading times can be factored out, lag is variable and is very difficult to estimate. My solution is, since VC saves at most 3 minutes in any% single segment, and a run is only likely to be accepted if it's a significant improvement anyway, a VC run should only obsolete an N64 one if the VC one is more than 3 minutes faster than the N64 one. This guarantees that the new run will have superior play quality and won't unfairly beat the old run just because of being a faster system.

Thoughts?

EDIT: maybe I should bring this up on the SDA discussion board instead...
That's the dumbest shit i've ever heard ing, that would give n64 an advantage, and it's a much worse version than VC.

It is written as "I respectfully disagree", not "that's the dumbest shit I've ever heard".

Siglemic is a troll, don't even pay attention to him. He does this shit all the time on IRC too, and it gets really old and annoying.
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
Finally got to watch the run. Amazing job, but there's one thing that bugs me. When you guys were talking in Pirate's Fortress about tricks in other Zelda games, someone asked if the Oracles had been broken, and no one mentioned my warp trick. I'm going to go cry now.

<_<
wise fwom yo gwave
Got a chance to watch this tonight and I enjoyed the commentary and run itself. It has to be extremely frustrating going through the first 30 minutes of the game each time you do attempts, but the end result and the rest of the game was pretty entertaining. The run was extremely smooth and a great improvement, nice job with the run!
Absafreakinrediculous.  Awesome run, all the tricks are very entertaining.

I have a new MM any% SS run recorded, 1:49 SDA timing on the N64 version.

Here is a link to an LQ encode: http://www.mediafire.com/file/up66x75bt6ler9u/mm149_LQ.mp4

I will have a commentary team ready to do audio commentary on this within the next week, and we will probably commentate it this weekend.

For some reason the encode is 6 seconds slower than the actual run, not sure what's up with that (I posted about it on tech support and may need to make a new LQ if there's an issue).

Wow, good job Ing!  You nailed the bottle dupe AND the turtle skip.  Congrats!

THIS RUN CONTAINS SECRET WORLDS
I just finished watching Ing's new SS, and I must say, it is glorious. The biggest problems were the lengthy Twinmold and Majora's Incarnation fights (and by "lengthy" I just mean slower than everything else), but the vast majority of the run (especially the consistently well-executed bomb tricks that normally require pause buffering) almost looks like a TAS. The fact that you didn't get hit by Goht once, the fact that you did all of the bottle duping perfectly and quickly, and the fact that you found yet more ways to cut corners in the Great Bay area (and successfully skipped the turtle island cutscene) compensate for the aforementioned flaws. While the run can probably be improved by a couple minutes, this is a mighty impressive effort and I'm sure it'd be hard as hell to top this. Bravo, Ing.

Deleted my comments since apparently giving my opinions on a run and discussing the game is against the rules and makes me look like a douche.

that's not passive aggressive at all!

grats on your run ing
Congratulations on taking an MM cart and raping it for an hour and 49 minutes
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
My eyes have seen the light, and it is that run. <_<

It almost makes me want to do commentary to exemplify your badassery for doing all that in one go.

But why did you step on the switch in Stone Tower Temple to create that chest? It seemed sorta useless.

Stepping on the switch was an accident, that thing is way too close to the wall and I step on it by accident all the time D:

Is there a precedent for what Pokey mentioned? If someone informs me of how this policy works and whether I am breaking a rule, I will be sure to edit or delete my evaluation of Ing's new submission.
At 1:00:40 - going for the Zora jump instead of the jump slash, that's the ballsy stuff I want to see.
