what happens if the single byte and the 8byte blocks overlap? single byte gets overwritten? or is it recorded last, from your explanation it seems it overwrites all, in any case try to find a warp byte in those unknown memory areas
Nothing ever came of MM BA, sadly. The addresses we can alter are just not useful.
I've been working on optimizing the any% route more and there's already some improvements for Soulcal's run and he just started like 2 weeks ago. I'm probably going to do a Single Segment speed run when I get a new controller, but not sure if I'll do segmented, depends on how much room for improvement Soulcal leaves.
Do you guys have any tips for the block skip in Snowhead?
I typically just start sidehopping and mashing A, but 90% of the time I fall down after getting hit by the white bubble thing. And when it do make it through, it almost always took awhile to do (as in similar to the time it would take to push the block normally).
Also, how much time do you have to hit the wizzrobe before he does the halfway cutscene?

You could just kill most of the white bubble things and then sidehop through.
And you have to goron stomp the wizzrobe 2 times before he does the halfway cutscene. Edit: Aww... i didn't see that you said time, not hits.

There's a certain enemy you can target that will guarantee the block skip if you do it right. It's the third one you can target, hopefully that makes sense.
It looks like about 21 or 24 frames to get the cut scene skip on Wizrobe.
Alright... is this a good Goht strategy (and how known is it)? I recommend reading the description because I actually messed it up a little (and I was too annoyed to do the 3 minute set-up again), although I still get it to work. If you time it just right, the optimal result is literally right next to you.
edit: Now that I think about it, here's what should be done: 1) roll into position and shoot Goht with 14 arrows 2) sidehop away, then roll to the spot the blue light will exactly be at when you shoot him again 3) shoot him exactly as he shows up
Now I can definately see this as viable (because you don't have to time it so the light is next to you; you can learn the perfect position and end it immediately).
for whatever reason it doesn't work on my comp. Do I need to download something first?
I guess I'd be willing to get better at the game, but I think every category is being worked on at the moment by someone better than me. And I don't have a capture card.
You can download mIRC or use the irc on the site, there's a link on the main page. You don't need to be doing a speed run to come into the IRC, we just discuss anything and everything there.
