Verification Files

http://v.speeddemosarchive.com/KickMaster_1251.mp4

Please refer to the Verification Guidelines before posting. Verifications are due by April 20, 2014.

Please post your opinions about the run and be certain to conclude your post with a verdict (Accept/Reject). This is not a contest where the majority wins - I will judge each verification on its content. Please keep your verification brief unless you have a good reason otherwise.

After 2 weeks I will read all of the verifications and move this thread to the main verification board and post my verdict.
Judging from the sunday sequence break history, this was the fastest time for a short while, but was then eclipsed by someone else. I watched this submission, but not the faster run (twitch recording with ghosting issues - no thanks). However, this game has reached a point where (in my opinion) improvements are more or less auto-accept unless a sequence break is found. The nature of the game creates time losses pretty much everywhere. Maybe there are minor strat improvements possible as well, but I haven't played this game (on my to-do list), so I can't comment on that. If someone else wants to improve the time and submit it, they're welcome.

Anybody else want to weigh in on this? Seems pretty straight forward but I'd like at least one more response.
Terraffirmative!
Truly, the runner has overcome all the difficulties in the journey to becoming a kick master. Problems such as how to move forward huge distances by kicking and how to stunlock bosses, as well as more abstract concepts such as what exactly one does with his hands when he is busy kicking everything in sight.

accept.
This game is one of the forgotten gems of the NES library.  Powerup collection is aggressive and routed well.  There's a couple of flubs that cost a few seconds during the run but overall the kicking is top notch.  The only section that looked shaky was just prior to the final boss door.  The minimal menuing needed is clean.  This encoding washes out the item transparency effects a bit.  Really not much to complain about.

Accept.
Decision posted.
