You probably should stick with in-game names as much as possible. With AitD, aside from collectibles, there weren't really any official names to go with so I came up with them myself, except for the obvious Cthulhu menagerie.

EDIT: In case you missed it, you should read the bit about the "corner SPACE snap". It can save even more time when lamp snapping but I don't have a clue if it's conceivable to use it in a real-time run.
I doubt it contains anything of interest for speedrunning, but I found an official strategy guide for AitD 1-2 and Jack online. I read the AitD walkthrough, and BOY is it ever cringey. Tongue

I remembered another trick that might be applicable to your run. You should be aware that it's faster, at least in AitD, to rotate while standing still compared to when walking or running. Some movement is therefore faster if you sometimes stop completely. It's not just that though: also whenever you've started a continuous rotation, however fast the rotation initially is, that's how fast it will proceed to the end of the 90-degree quadrant. So if you start a slow turn, then stop, your rotation will still be slow for a little while.

It has taken me forever to realize this but the implication of being able to control the speed of a turn is whenever you benefit from faster rotation, and especially if you have to start from a standstill, it's best to first start a standing turn, then quickly give the double tap input to start running. The rotation speed for the first quadrant is double. If performed well, I'm fairly sure that has to make some parts of any run faster... dammit, now I have to learn that technique too! Shocked It might even be faster in segmented runs than the save-load turn.

EDIT: Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work if you just double tap numpad 7 or 9. The reason is you're interrupting the fast rotation when you release the key. I'm experimenting with pressing the key above TAB to start running as it seems to be easier than using the same hand for all three inputs. Let me know if you come up with something easier.
