I'm having a speedrun meetup between the 14th and 15th of March. This isn't going to be a marathon of any sorts, but rather just a meetup where we see the sights, hang out and just generally have fun! As per tradition, meeting place will be the Jim Larkin statue (Pictured below) on O'Connell street at 2pm. See here for a map: http://goo.gl/HjHIWE

Travel & accommodation
For those of you travelling from the UK and the rest of Europe, you can have a look for flights on Skyscanner (http://www.skyscanner.net/)

Travel from the Airport to the city centre can be gotten for as low as €12 return HOWEVER it is better value to get a tourist leap card. The tourist leap card offers 72 hours of unlimited travel in the Dublin area (including airport transfers!) for only €20. Due to St. Patricks day taking place on the Tuesday after the meetup, prices of hostels/hotels have gone up a fair bit but you can still find good deals. I'd fully recommend using airbnb as this might just work out the cheapest especially if you are able to organise room/apartment sharing http://www.airbnb.com. Also have a look at http://www.hotelscombined.ie/.

This sounds interesting, I dont know If i would go, I only live about 90miles away from dublin, so I may be able to go if parents permit. Dublin is a beautiful place, good choice Tongue

I visited Dublin last year with flicky as a last minute arranged trip. I can vouch that both flights and accomodation were very affordable and the food and drink available in the city were great. Hopefully can visit this year and see you guys again. This time we're getting more than 2 people for 6D shark cinema.

Remember if arranging to meet people, the go to place is big hands man.

There are actually quite a few speedrunners from NI. I only know of one though personally and he lives in Strabane. He most likely is coming

Actually, considering that St. Patricks day falls on Tuesday the 17th, how would you guys feel about moving the dates to coincide with the day? It would make me feel less guilty about drinking anyway Grin

I was talking with some folk outside of SDA who are considering coming and they weren't too fond of having it on St. Patricks day because it falls on a weekday. I guess we will have it on the days we were originally planning: 14th - 15th March.
