gotta go fast
So I figured I should go ahead and introduce myself. I'm muteKi and you might have seen me on talking-time, sonic retro, and hg101 forums in particular. I spend far too much time playing 3D Sonic, though I'm only a pretty decent speedrunner at SADX.
Hi my real name is Tyler, I'm going to college to learn about animation and maybe write and animate my own cartoon
I learn about this because of the AGDQ/SGDQ marathons and thought I could try and get good at some of my favorite games and as far as actual speed running experience I used to race some friends on the classic mega man games which although I was good against them I'm still pretty slow at them
I figured joining this community would help fix that
WHAT A HORRIBLE NIGHT TO PLAY THIS.
Hey, my name is Tyler Ironside. I'm 20 years old and hail from Ontario, Canada.

I work hard to secure my living doing mostly labour-intensive odd jobs around my city on short contracts. This allows me to pick and choose when and what I wish to do and how much, giving me free time whenever I please and allowing my schedule to be ultra-flexible. So much construction goes on in my city, so reaching my minimum monthly quota is no problem for me!

My hobbies are primarily guitar. I've been playing longer than I can remember. I play tons of video games of all kinds, and I love making my own guitar covers of video game OST's. I love adventuring with my close friends to wherever our feet take us. I love outdoor Canadian wilderness survival, guns, beer, movies, trampoline, and a loooot of other things. I strive to be talented in all these regards, and as such, I make friends of all kinds.

Sometimes I might come off as a little bit intimidating (so I've been told numerous times in the past), but I'm not a scary guy if you talk to me for a bit! I'm very very friendly to people of all creeds and cultures. Some of my friends I go friggin' wild with, some I chill and watch movies with, some I just play video games with, jam music with, some I even just seriously get together and cook crazy tasty food with, and a lot I've only even ever met over the internet! I love interacting with people and hanging out and just having a damn good time! Perhaps over some beers, too! Did I mention I love beer?

I was introduced to real speed running by finding AGDQ 2013 clips on YouTube, and ever since then, I've been absolutely hooked! I'm for sure gonna be at AGDQ 2016! I hope to see some of you there and have a merry time!

Anyways, I speed run Splinter Cell: Conviction on Xbox 360, and for a very very personal reason. It's not popular amongst runners, but I wish to change that sometime. I hold the current world record for any% Story Mode, and I wish that this game regains exposure amongst the speed running community in the future! Anything you wanna say to me or ask to me, don't hesitate in establishing contact with me! Save those frames!

Looking for runners to work with.
Hello Everyone!

My name is Wojciech, but you can call me G-Doc to avoid problems with my slavic name :-)

I'm not a speed runner, just a general gamer for at least 30 years now. I'm with the PR and Marketing team of GOG.com (formerly known as Good Old Games) the biggest DRM-free online game store. I came here looking for runners interested in appearing on our Twitch.tv/GOG.com channel (about 9 000 followers as of today, and counting).

Personally, I mostly enjoy runs of retro games!

I came here looking for a runner to host a very specific event on our channel, but I intend to stay here longer, looking for other opportunities to meet runners and get some content for Twitch.tv/GOGcom.
Indian Ocean bro!

PS: Sorry for my English

Hello! I am Nottabot, a 17 year old from the United States.

After watching the recent AGDQ stream I was inspired to finally try out speedrunning. I had been watching AGDQ and SGDQ for a couple years but this year I decided it was time to put my own skills to the test. I had recently found my old copy of Kingdom Hearts 2 and was really enjoying replaying it when I saw the run of final mix in AGDQ. I was amazed and figured that if I was going to learn a game inside and out it might as well be one of my favorite games of all time.

As you might have guessed, my first run will be Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix if I can get a copy of it. If not it will probably just be good old KH2.

Feel free to call me Notta if you see me around and I can't wait to be part of this community!

Hey guys!

The name's StopTacoman (or Brandon if ya prefer). I'm a 19 year old college student from central Illinois, and I've pretty much just joined the site, although I've been lurking in SDA for a few years to check out the records.

As is kind of the trend right now, I joined after watching the incredible AGDQ stream (Shout out to that MIND BLOWING Kingdom Hearts II FM and Level 1 Data Org run, holy shit). I've actually been watching AGDQ and SGDQ since 2013, though I've been reluctant to join the forums until now because of school, work, etc. A lot of time shifted around for me this semester, so now I have just an egregious amount of time to work with now. Yay!

I'm mainly interested in starting to speedrun Gamecube games, specifically SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom. And maybe 007: Nightfire. Or Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness. Or Metriod Prime 1 and 2, though those games kind of intimidate me (looking at you Grand Abyss)... but I digress. I think I want start running BfBB because it was pretty much the first game I played on a console, so it holds a lot of sentimental value to me. Also, an explosion of great tricks and routes come out for it a few months ago, followed by a sudden plummet in intrest. I see a lot of potential still for the game, and I think it would be a great candidate for some kind of, I dunno, "Nickelodeon Nostalgia" block in SGDQ 2015 or AGDQ 2016 or something. We'll just have to see.

Unfortunately, I have a gross lack of recording equipment. If anyone could refer me to the best stuff to start running GCN games (including a good mic for recording and a good camera for streaming) I'd greatly appreciate it.

Also, feel free to add me on Steam! My current name is Childish Brandino, though I'll probably change it to Stop Tacoman soon enough. I'll post it in my profile. I mainly like to play CS: GO (even though I'm real trash at it), but I'm always buying new games.

Alright, I guess that's it. It's freakin' awesome to finally be here, keep on optimizin'!
Hey guys,

My name is Tim Burton, and have been a fan of the AGDQ stuff for a while now. I was able to tune into AGDQ 2015, and it was pretty awesome! Although, I've been watching speedruns for a while now here and there, with my first being an OoT any%.

I decided to join in on the fun and try my hand at speedrunning. I recently watched a Minecraft speedrun, and, given that I love Minecraft and even run some of my own servers, I figured I would give it a go! Still debating if I want to use the seed that people are using currently (Bismuth), or if I want to try to find a better one. I guess that's part of being a speedrunner - finding new strats!

I've been gaming ever since I was a kid. Hell, I even learned my abcs on a commodore 64. I remember growing up watching my father play... er, I mean repair consoles like NES and Atari. I was his little "helper", ya know, quality assurance.
Still, to this day, that's what I do. I even run a community of gamers where they can meet up and share content, guilds and clans with one another. Fun stuff.

I'll be streaming my runs over on twitch/rebirth_gaming, but it'll be casual for now until I get the hang of it.

Looking forward to this!

Hello, welcome, etc.

Long-time lurker, longer-time watcher of the runs posted here and the *GDQ archives, first-time poster.  Graduate Student living in Southern Arizona, figuring I should have something else to do for those times when dissertation writing hits a brick wall and I just don't want to think about it anymore for awhile.

I've got a handful of games that I want to get into speedrunning, at least casually, though due to money and availability, I do feel I need to restrict myself to games that won't require import Japanese versions of the game, if possible.  Haven't really decided what games to run once I get this Legaia speedrun I've been planning out for the last two years actually worked on, though.  Maybe do some other JRPG's, since I've always enjoyed those games, or because I'm masochistic (looks glaringly at that copy of Quest 64 taunting me in my N64)...

Also a player / former judge of Magic: the Gathering, so if you've seen this username on sites related to that, it's probably me.
Hey all,

21 y/o American college student here who loves watching speedruns. I've been on SDA since this past spring, at least I think, and am now routing a run for FarCry4 for XboxOne. If you wanna check out my stream just look up UnityBeats on twitch. Also, as far as hobbies go, I like making music too. So if you find yourself needing some new, under-the-radar electronica tunes to bump and/or chill to here are two links of music that I've made:

I only just joined~
Yo, Good Afternoon
I suck at introductions!
This is a Haiku!

Awkward introductions aside, I'm 18 and right now the only game I've any hope of running is Crash Team Racing. And for now that'll be grand. I'm interested in art and video games. Other games I have my on are Kingdom Hearts, Spiderman 2, and maybe one of the Elder Scrolls games. I'm more or less completely new to speed running, only just joined SDA, and have watched the select videos from AGDQ 2015 and SGDQ 2014. Right now, out the very small handful of runners I know, I'd have to say SpikeVegeta is my favourite.
Hey everyone,

I'm a web developer/user experience architect living in Richmond, Virginia after a recent move from Texas. I've been lurking and watching speedruns for a while now, I was in to competitive FPS games for a decent amount of time before a friend of mine directed me to AGDQ 2013, which in turn made me fall in love with speedrunning. Lately I've been playing a few games casually including Super Metroid, Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (super great if you haven't played it yet), and Super Mario Bros Wii. I'm slightly obsessed with Megaman X and have been lurking in those threads for a while, but have yet to put down a solid speed run of it. Any% I always fail at Bospider, 100% I just need to work on some of the little tricks to start saving more frames.

Anyway, I mostly am stoked on being a part of the community and helping out, I'm better at that then speedrunning.

Party hard, all!

Sup guys,

I'm interested in speedrunning, but don't have a lot of time to do so, unfortunately.
Electronic Super Joy is the game I'm trying to speedrun from time to time, but not much else.

Since I've studied Japanese Language and Culture, I'm also willing to help anyone with questions about said language; again, if I have the time.
I'm also wondering if anyone knows where the Japanese equivalent of SDA is. The term for speedrunning in Japanese is giving me trouble finding anything.

Never stop!
Hey, my name is Henry, and I'm just starting out, I plan on creating an Learn to Fly 2 any%.
I greet, with humility, those that view me. My real name is Austin Smith, and I call myself Not Worthy in order to keep me humble. I am a university student at the moment, and I am mainly interested in reading, writing and essaying.

At the moment, I am working on a run for the obscure PS1 game Kingsley's Adventure, as well as contributing my findings to the current thread for it. I first got into watching speedrunning with CarlSagan's 2013 100% run of Yoshi's Island, and I've honestly adored speedrunning since. I don't have many other games I desire to speedrun at the moment; it's just that one.

I will hold the SDA motto close to me, both with speedrunning and in life: Never Stop!
hi all, name is erik, student and beginner in the speedrunning genre!

Currently attempting speedrunning tomba!, my favourite game from the childhood times, but I first got into speedrunning after watching AGDQ 2013, especially with the final fantasy runs - smashing a demanding game within hours always baffled me.

Oh, and I love to travel

Hello.  I'm ZeRo.  26 year old from Kentucky.

A couple of years ago I stumbled upon one of Cosmo's OoT runs and I've been hooked ever since.  Its simply amazing what the "pros" can so and i hope to achieve that level myself. With that said ive started a new twitch channel http://www.twitch.tv/zero5525 where i will be running various snes rpgs starting with Chrono Trigger as it is my favorite game of all time,  A Link to the Past, and Final Fantasy 6.  I'm still setting everything up for the debut but hopefully my first broadcast will be on 2/01/2015.  So any tips about any of the aforementioned games, or running a twitch channel would be greatly appreciated.
Gaming Like A Baus
Well hello Speedrunners, My name is Arco, im 23 years old and from the Netherlands.

I have been watching Games done quick events for a long time now and always loved it.
since i love GDQ and the community so much i decided to join and start speedrunning aswell.

I used to own a lot of old consoles,, Super nintendo, Snes,, gameboys, PSP. sadly when i was young i was pretty stupid and sold them so i could buy somthing new embarassed
At this point im scavenging markets and online so i can buy them again for a decent price and start running the old games we all love, games like Donkey kong, Zelda and ofc mario.
But since i dont own them yet, i decided to start speedrunning with max payne 3

I was not able to find any times for Max payne 3 (only 1 and 2) . Since its a cool and pretty fast game i think its a great place to start
I hope i can get some help starting up and any tips would be appreciated.

Dream at this point is to get good (world record good :P) and be able to attend a GDQ event in the future.
Ofcourse im aiming to go as a runner but it wil take a lot of time and practice. so wish me luck thumbsup

Hey everyone,

I've been visiting SDA for many years but finally decided to create an account.

I play a ton of games on a variety of platforms. I haven't narrowed down a game or even a genre to speed run yet.

I figured I'd come here first and go from there.

Thanks,
Greetings everyone,

I am Unstoppabull, but you can call me Danro. I'm from Boise, ID. Im a proud father and gamer, youtuber, and twitch person. To me there has never been a bad time in gaming. I will try to contribute and be a good member of the community. I live by positivity and will try to bring as much as I can here. Ciao.

Hey I'm adsmz, and I'm a total weeb.

I'm planning on running chibi-robo for GCN casually, but it'll be a while, since I've not played it in a few years '>.>

a bit about me:
I'm a 22 year old music and noise artist and college dropout with no job or car. I enjoy long, romantic walks on a secluded beach, and very rarely murder my dates. Call me Grin
Hey guys,

I'm WasabiKnight and I met SDA and speedrunning through a friend 3 years ago who showed me a GDQ stream (SGDQ 2012 at the time). That wasn't very long ago so I am pretty new to this speedrunning business. I personally find beating a game at lightning speed something really admirable no matter how poorly the run goes, and at the same time when I watch someone running a game I like, it helps me put my mind off things. So this time around I decided to try out my luck on speedrunning, I never did anything like it (except beating a game multiple times, but that doesn't count since I wasn't really going out for the fastest time), so I am sure it'll be long before I get a good time. I looked around for advice and a lot of people suggested picking a game that I really liked so I decided to play Final Fantasy III (the PC version). It is one of the few games I can stream and also I thinks it's pretty feasible for someone who is just starting out. I also think that streaming (even my first run ever) will help me improve since anyone can give me advice on improving my times.
I know that the PC version doesn't have a route planned out yet, but there is a thread around with route planning for it and I intend to borrow the knowledge of those fellow speedrunners and test their route around, so we can improve on the times and get a good planned route for the game. (and include it on the SDA database one day!)

About me:
I am 21 years old and I am about to finish my master's degree this very month, which means I will have extra spare time to write my thesis (and to speedrun!), so I decided to take part of this spare time and stream a speedrun once a week!
DoorbellCo
I suppose it's time to stop lurking and rejoin the team.

My name is JB.  I'm 29, from Tennessee, and have been following this movement since Classic Games Done Quick back in the day.

I had another account, but I've changed my handle since then.  It was mainly just questions I had on certain games.  I realize I'm not 13 anymore and "Dazed" is a terrible name for someone who doesn't even like being what the word means.  Tongue

With that being said, I've been casually running:

Link (Zelda 2) NES
Chrono Trigger SNES
Final Fantasy 4 SNES
Final Fantasy 6 SNES

There are a handful of others, but I've never been serious about them.  I've recently been kicking around buckling down on Saga Frontier and Radiant Historia.

You can find me at www.twitch.tv/doorbellco

I rarely stream these runs since I usually play them on emulator (no conversion card) or handheld.  I may break down and buy one if I can ever get my times where I'd like them.

Send me a message if you need me.  Cheesy

Hello SDA! My name is Schmidlak, a 24 year old, recent college grad from Seattle, and yet another new guy who has been inspired by the awesome stuff the speedrunner community has done. I've known about speedrunning for a while (I remember finding a Morrowind run here back in 2005 and being absolutely floored), but I never really knew how awesome the community itself was. Then I saw the 4-way Super Metroid race at AGDQ 2014. I've been a big fan of this community ever since.

I grew up with a Sega Genesis, so when I saw mecharichter destroy Dynamite Headdy at this years AGDQ, I knew I had to give this a try. I look forward to getting to know many of you guys and see what other great things this community has to offer.

I stream at twitch.tv/schmidlak on emulator (I really want to get an el gato at some point), and would love to meet some other Genesis runners, and if you have experience with Dynamite Headdy, your advice would be invaluable!

Stay classy thumbsup

Hey everyone! Cheesy

I am Nejasu from Belgium, 26 years old and a graphics artist for occupation.
My first video game i touched was Star Wars on the NES, but i never really had much love for that back then until pokemon arrived on the scene and i got hooked on those games like there was no tomorrow Cheesy
After watching AGDQ and SGDQ since 2012, i have decided to give speedrunning a go this year, with great succes so far in the game Ratchet and Clank. i still have alot to learn but i am loving it so far! Cheesy

I really love the speedrunning community in general and the GDQ events have always caught my interests because i myself have a disability.
To see so many people gather up to help better the world by going fast, i would love to be a part of that someday ^_^.

Anyhow you can always spot me on my livestream page on twitch http://twitch.tv/nejasu for loads of shenanigans, be it speedrunning or non speedrunning, sometimes i even do art and make free art while i am at it. ^_^
