Hey guys,

My name is Harry,  I first started watching AGDQ marathons last summer and since have grown to love speed running. It is super interesting to me and have always wanted to pick it up as a hobby.
I am from Portland, Oregon.  I am currently going to College to get my degree in Computer Science.  With that degree I would like to start making small indie games by myself or with a group of friends.
I am interested in trying to run SMW, Mega Man X, and some metroid game (maybe fusion).

Seeya round the forums
My name is tbcr. I've been lurking, watching speedruns since last AGDQ and decided to jump in. I'm sticking with DOS games for runs atm but may try to do 360 titles. I'm currently taking networking with Red Hat administration on the side, hoping to get a job at Red Hat headquarters in NC. I'm currently working on D/Generation for DOS
Rigelian here,

Occasional watcher of speedruns until I ran across Cosmo's OOT run from ADGQ 2013. Raelcun's Starcraft II:HotS run persuaded me that I could probably run something myself. Don't have the ability to really record at the moment but I plan on running mostly PC titles like Wing Commander and Waking Mars. Other games as the ability and fancy strikes me.
Heya hiya and hello.

Name's Kojanue, Koja for short. I had heard last year about GDQ while I was still hanging around my old IRC joint and just recently got to finally watch some of SGDQ 2014. Sadly I missed very very much of it due to my strange time schedule and strict sleep cycles, but got to spend the past couple days catching up on the Twitch recordings.

Absolutely everything about all of the Megaman runs from the classic block and the two X games run this year are what finally convinced me to want to pick up speedrunning, most likely in the Megaman franchise, especially with Megaman Unlimited being a possibility. Albeit it may be a little while before I can record anything but Unlimited, I will at least be able to practice!
Hi all,

Name is Mugen. A friend of mine who speedruns SM64 introduced me to this site.

I plan on running Mischief Makers and King's Field (also known as KF2 in JP)
New Guy
Hallo everyone, name's MegaFire. I'm pretty new to the actual community in terms of speed running myself, but I've been following speedrunners for about 3-4 years and am currently picking up speedrunning myself.

I (attempt) to run Jak and Daxter Any%s and am just getting into the Sonic 3D Blast (PC) Any% and 100%.
Looking forward to meeting new people and making friends!
Howdy!

I'm Bobby Boone, and I started watching speed runs a few years back.
I'm trying out my hand at speed running with a few games here and there, my current interest is the cult space combat sim Tachyon the Fringe. I mostly play PC games, with a sprinkling of Nintendo games as well.
Hello everybody, I'm ZELLLOOO (think a very Engrished "zero") but you can call me Phil if you want, I've been lurking around here since I found vids of AGDQ 2013 and started picking up games to run myself, so far I've picked at Ninja Gaiden 2, Doom 1 and 2, Lagoon, Sub-Terrania, and am still polishing a few others.

Playing trumpet and doing crazy things with dance games (DDR, ITG, PIU) are probably my favorite other things to do when I'm not working and I also enjoy making pixel art occasionally.

Looking forward to having a good time with everybody here!

Hey peeps!

My name is Thomas, I'm from Croatia and am a long time watcher of speedruns.

After watching this year's SGDQ I decided that it will be a goal of mine to attend a GDQ and run a game on stream.

I'm still thinking about what game to run, but the first game I will ever route / run / WR will be Diver's Dream on the PSX, I really love that game and not a lot of people have heard about it so I want to spread the word.

I'm waiting for my internet to get upgraded to a better upload speed.

Hope to see you on my stream sometime in the future.

hello there i am Halfon26 (hal-fon-26 most people say it as half-on26 the names goes back to my old wow days, and had accents here there and everywhere but never put them in my name now haha) i was recently directed to you guys from a few people in a twitch stream when i was talking about my slight intrest in speed running castlevania SOtN and hope to someday be at least half as good as some of the speed runners here Cheesy
i recently watched some of the SGDQ that was on twitch and was amazed by it(which obviously sparked my interest) and since i have recently got my hands on a ps2 from my friend(since my 60gig ps3 gave me the YLOD) a good number of years ago i had some amazing luck and got my hands on a PS1 copy of SOtN which always calls to me and would be more than greatful to anyone who could give me suggestions and tips on how totrain myself o.o and become a good(even semi decent) speed runner for this game Cheesy
I AM KHEAD
My name is Chenzo. I'm new to SDA and actually performing speed runs though I've watched for a good few years. Always been interested and finally decide to give it the old college try. Probably mainly going to be doing NES and platform games.
I guess it is time to introduce myself, but I don't think it will be very lengthy.

Hello there all, I am Kaffe Myers from Sweden, a 30 year old jack-of-all trades, but like to see myself as a musician most of the time... all depending on the situation and the mood, I guess. I've been watching three GDQs so far and this last time I was way too hyped, saw big chunks of it even if I worked a lot. Thankfully, my grave yard shifts made it possible to follow things even at work. I had a great time and donated about 10 times. x]

I've started to pop into the IRC mostly, but figured I should make an introduction here as well. I'm currently happy as a bystander, watching all the talented speed runners do their things as I believe I lack the time and motivation to get really good at speed running... but you never know what'll happen, I just might do some SRing myself at some point. Time will tell.

I found SDA via the site insanedifficulty.com as some of the regulars there are really into the GDQs. I got hooked instantly, seriously boosted by the Sonic Adventure run last SGDQ. I'll probably follow GDQs religiously for a long time. In between I will probably hang around and see some of the streams to get my fix.

Anyway, that's that. If you want to know anything else, just holler.

Hey everyone Smiley I'm 25 years old, live in Colorado and go by Nines. I always been captivated with video game glitches and recently speedruns. I discovered AGDQ via youtube and watched several runs. I don't know how good I'd be at speedrunning myself though I attempted some here and there and have fun with it. Specifically with many old games in my youth that I'd master as a kid at my folks home as they were the only games I had at the time. I can't wait to learn many wonderful things about breaking games from people here.

Hey hey,

My name is Rich and I have loved vidya games since I was little. My first console ever was the Turbografx 16.  I recently joined SDA and watched ADGQ for the first time this year!! I cannot believe i have not see it before.  I would love to attend AGDQ or SGDQ 2015.  How do I register for that?

Generally you can find roommate research threads in the marathon discussion boards. Find a roommate via the thread, plan your trip accordingly, and most importantly, have a way to get there.

If you're planning on running something, that's an entirely different process altogether. Smiley

Hm … a~ctually … Roommates is not the most important thing. The really important thing is the sign-up and payment, which will be posted in the marathon discussion subforum whenever it's time. If you're local to either Denver (SGDQ) or DC (AGDQ) you can even attend the event commuting and don't need roommates at all.
But yeah, that subforum is the one you'll be wanting to watch. And welcome to SDA ^^

Thanks for the reply!  awesome yea I am definitely going to watch for the registrations and whatnot.  Thanks for the welcome!
Hello I have watched GDQ for a couple of years and finally joined.
Interested in the Bioshock Infinite and a couple more but until I get a new computer its infinite for now.
Sorry that its short but I could not think of anything else.
Have good one everyone
Greetings, guys.

I got into the speedrunning community at the beginning of this year, seeing my first GDQ marathon in January. After that, I spent a while devouring any videos I could from past GDQ events. Eventually, I wound up following a few of my favorite runners on Twitch, and Sinister1 started making a MTPO tutorial. Following his tutorial, I've learned how to do the Minor and Major Circuits of MTPO quite well. While waiting for the World Circuit and Tyson tutorials, I decided I would try speedrunning one of my favorite SNES games: Mega Man X. Since then, I've been slowly working my way through Caleb's tutorials that he uploaded years ago on YT. I hope to learn many things from the excellent runners here, and hopefully one day make my way towards some decent PBs and perhaps going to a GDQ event and doing a run of my own. Cheesy
Hi! I'm Ross, but I usually go by Moatman online. I'm a second year math major and like all sorts of stuff
I got into speedrunning after AGDQ 2014. I only really run Teslagrad right now, but I'm probably gonna branch out to some source games after I upgrade my computer.
Hello everyone, my name is Cole, and I've been lurking around since 2012, finally decided after the Final Fantasy 6 run at SGDQ to pick up a controller and start running some stuff. Currently working on Exile for the genesis. I Intend to pick up a PS2 shortly and getting Shadow Hearts and Shadow Hearts 2 along with some other stuff that I really want to learn and run.
Hello peeps, I'm ZeoLightning you can call me Zeo

I'm a long time admirer of speed runs and i've been wanting to try them out for myself. I'm a Let's Player on You Tube and an Artist on DeviantArt. I'm new to forums as well as this is the first forum i've ever joined. i still dont completely understand them but i hope to learn a lot.

I'm 23 years old, I'd say I'm an intermediate level gamer.
<coming to get you>
Hey all! I'm DracXBelmont, alias Richard Hiner! As one might see. . . I'm a fairly big Castlevania fan. Unfortunately I suck tits at speedrunning the games so I use my talents for Super Metroid! Because why not?

Finally happy to be a part of this wonderful. . . wonderful community!
Hey guys, I'm burningsoup AKA Christian AKA ChUBB. I've been interested in speedrunning ever since I saw a TAS of SM64 a few years ago. Since then, I've been avidly watching the GDQs and casually working on SM64 and OoT runs.

Decided to register after the last SGDQ, hopefully to become involved with the community and work on some "serious" runs of my own!
Hello everyone,

My name is BigArmor. I have been lurking these forums on and off for quite a few years now but have never registered. I have been a big supporter (from home) of SGDQ and AGDQ since the start and have donated every year. I am a big fan of speedrunning and admire the dedication and commitment it takes to speed run to nail down your times. I also enjoy the inherent competitive nature of speedrunning as well. While I myself have never officially speedran anything before, I have been entertaining the idea for awhile and eventually settled on the game Dead Space (haven't decided whether it will be PC or XBOX360 version.) It is unfortunate that there seems to be a lack of resources for this particular game.

While this may sound silly, my eventual goal is to take part in AGDQ running said game for cancer.
Hi, my name is Eugene, I'm from Russia. I speedrun DuckTales 1, 2, LEGO Batman 2, Bleed, other games will be soon. My Twitch http://www.twitch.tv/josephhtobinjr
Hey all.

Finally decided to try a little more serious speed running after  watching SGDQ. First games are looking to be outland and a little donkey kong country.  Unfortunately due to limited spare time I doubt I will ever get as good at it as I would like but it cant hurt to try.

Hi!

I'm Keaur. Online, I prefer to be known as such, if you don't mind.
A co-worker told me about the GDQs and this community and thought I might be a fit somewhere in it.
I play one game particularly fast, and that's Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master. There are other games on Sega Genesis I have an interest in, but this one is the game I am most comfortable with as far as speed running goes.

About me:
I'm from Texas. I work at a data center, and am slowly but actively pursuing a career in Networking. Hobbies/interests include, but aren't limited to : Digital painting, music production, Dota 2, catching up on decent anime, watching movies, chatting, etc. General shut in stuff, but I do enjoy days out quite a bit.

I'm mostly on Twitch viewing other streamers, but in the coming time, I'll be streaming more often.
Check me out some time. www.twitch.com/keaur

Thanks, guys.
Stay motivated!
