Hello I'm new. I love everything about videogames, cultures around them and culture in general and speedrunning is pretty much a sub-art of the whole art that is a videogame (a videogame that spreads around quality of course).

My favourite Tool Assisted or Normal Speed Run category? 100% fulfilments speedrun or leisure focused speedrun (like humiliating enemies with bizarre happenings or creating curious situations in the game, but no glitchfest... mostly this applies to Tool Assisted).

I myself have done various tool assisted runs of fighting games - many of them edited frame for frame for the emulator didn't support re-recording so they are more like "semi-tases" and requires a lot to complete (one of it took me 19 straight hour of work, playing included!)
Hi guys, there is a new newbiee and it's me Cheesy

Hi there,

I'm Oli aka blDraX, computer science student from Germany. I'm pretty much into speedrunning and watched various of the SDA marathons. Up to now I've never done any speedrunning myself. A few days ago I've started my first project with Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams. I first plan to achieve a good time attack on every level before I try a full run.

Results will be posted in this playlist:

Let's see how far I get. Smiley
Hi.  I'm guessing that no one reads this, but I was told to post so I wouldn't get my account pruned.  I've been lurking for a while, and now I'm trying to learn Bionic Commando (NES) and a few other games.  I'm a programmer by day.

Welcome to SDA, everybody!  Hope you enjoy your stay.  ^_^

I just started running Bionic Commando as well.  It seems a few others have just recently gotten into it, too.  Spectacular game to run!  Best of luck.
In progress...
Gregg here. Lurked around here for a few years. Joined just recently.

Got my SEGA Genesis out and started running MERCS. If I can get through the learning curve of submitting a quality run then I may work up to Phantasy Star IV. Been wanting to see a real run of that for ages.

Maybe in the future I can get myself into one of those amazing bi-annual marathons I've spent many hours watching.

Hello. I'm Soupenomics, though you can just call me Soup. I'm interested in running SSBB: SSE, aswell as Rayman 3.

Welcome, I am CosmykTheDolfyn.  I discovered speedrunning from looking up trivia related to video games.  After seeing AGDQ 2014, I decided to try to pick it up myself.  Currently waiting on equipment to come in so that I can record my run of Hot Wheels Turbo Racing (N64 version) from console.  I haven't found any glitches in it yet, but I have discovered a way to skip 2 of the game's 9 races and still win all three Cups (which removes over 12 minutes of time, as these two races both take around 6 minutes.)  Last mission also unlocks every secret car in game, so I guess you could say it a 100% run in approximately 42 minutes real time.
Hopefully, you all will be able to see what I mean in another week or so!
IS there a speedrun record for Super Mario Bros on SNES? Been looking for a record for some time. I got a good time, just wanna know if its good enough

peace
Hello there! I am NyashMan (Friends calls me Nyasha) I am from Russia.(Sorry for my bad English, but I try tho!) I'm lurking around for a long time and just only now I come here. Start watching speedrun streams at summer 2013. Interesting in speedrunning of GTA games, and some another games too. I want to practice some non-popular games for fun and content for stream.
Hello, everyone, I'm BballLuke13. I'm a middle-schooler who loves video games and sports. In 2013, I saw some video crop up around the internet of Awesome Games Done Quick, and that's what really got me into speedrunning. I'm not that great at speedrunning, though I am pretty good for a middle-schooler, and my runs will probably never make it onto the main site. Another problem is that I don't have a capture card; I have to go to my friend's to use his.

I speedrun a variety of games, but not shooters. I've been working on runs for the following games recently:
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed - I cannot find a speedrun of the PS2 version ANYWHERE, so I have no idea how good my time really is. Possibly SDA worthy.
New Super Mario Bros. - Unfortunately, I have no way of recording my DSi, so I don't think I'll be able to upload this one. Possiby SDA worthy (probably not).
Super Monkey Ball - I'm actually somewhat terrible at this game, but I do have a decent Beginner time, and a few individual level records. Not SDA worthy.
Super Monkey Ball 2 - Same as above, minus the decent Beginner time. Not SDA worthy.
Super Monkey Ball Deluxe - Again, not that good, but I do have a decent Story Mode time. Probably not SDA worthy.
Mario Kart 7 - I am really good at this game, but I mess up on some shortcuts. Possiby SDA worthy, but probably not.
Sonic Generations - Just for fun, nowhere near SDA worthy.
Those are all the games I'm good enough at to speedrun, and a portion of those are knocked out, because I'm terrible at glitching. X3

Looking forward to getting involved with the SDA community!
Hey all, I'm Crimpdigit.  Grad student, speed runner in my spare time.  I've been working on a Psychonauts 100% (all figs, all baggage, debating between lvl 100 or 101, the punchy target game is a timesink) route since college when I have the time.  I'll usually have a speed run or something on while otherwise working and love it.  I finally caved and joined the SDA forums as I've decided this summer I will get my route down and have something to submit.  Eventually I'll get a stream up.  Cheers!
Congrats: Reading Skill Lv Up!
Greetings and Salutations.  I go by many names, but Scyther is the most common and the one you'll find me on Steam with.  I've been interested in speedruns since my first console: a SEGA Genesis and Sonic's gotta go fast.  I've only been aware of SDA and watching AGDQ for the last 4 years or so though.  I guess I never thought about joining the forum before, no particular reason besides not forumming much anywhere. I did so now because I'm ready to seriously practice a game and hopefully be at ground zero for the competition: the 2014 Strider game, or "reboot" if people insist on calling it that.  I'll call it Strider 2014 just like how we branded Sonic 06.  It came out yesterday and I've gotten pretty hyped.

I consider myself to be well above casual level, I mean I managed to beat all the Story Chapters on Very Hard in F-Zero GX for Arceus's sake!  That being said, I've never really put in the time and practice to get anywhere near competitive speedrunning level at any game :(.  The only game I can think of where I really focused on mechanical perfection and extreme hours of memorization is Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, with just over 800 hours played.  That game: when you play G-Rank quests online you have to bring your S-Game.  If you only bring your A-Game to a party then the Event Brachydios punches you into failure-paste.  Unfortunately, I can't play that game right now because I'm deployed and console-less on garbage wifi in the third world.  The silver lining is that I have my gaming laptop and plenty of free time to practice offline games.  I should be here for a few more months and I plan on devoting most of my free time to practicing Strider 2014 and hopefully even finding some glitches or even a wall clip.  The game does have some noticeable lag and slowdown in graphically complex rooms on my aging computer, and I'm worried about that handicapping my times if the in-game timer isn't also slowed down.  It would really suck if the game mandated real time only for runs and I had to upgrade my rig just to compete.  Right now though, I'm too busy just having fun with it...  That's pretty much it, hopefully I'll have something to contribute in the near future.

My favorite runs from AGDQ 2014 were the PeanutButter Metroid Zero Mission low% Hard, and GCN's slaughtering of F-Zero GX.
Hi my name is TheLeafsOrangeHokage.(Yes it is a Naruto reference) I don't mind if you call me Orange, or Hokage, or Leaf. Anyways, with that over with, I am a 14 year old freshman in high school and I have many hobbies. I love to skateboard with friends and I like to play video games obviously. I mainly speedrun Metroid Prime and I am learning Metroid Prime 2. I mainly stream these, but I will stream casual play of games from time to time. Thats not important though. I am not the best runner, yes, but everybody starts somewhere right? Im not good at introductions so not gonna drag this on too long. I really just like to speedrun and have fun doing it. Thats basically all there is to me. I hope that we can get along quite well!
Hello Everyone! I'm Bazooka Penguin! I'm a new speed runner trying to get into Speed Running as a hobby Currently trying to speed run Majora's Mask and OOT. Any tips and tricks would be awesome and greatly appreciated!
I'm really really cool.
Hello everyone. My name's MrRandomDynamite. I've been around SDA for a few years now, but haven't decided to join the forum until now. I really love all the marathons and everything, and I'm just glad to be part of something amazing. I'm currently running SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom, which is one of my favorite games of all time. I'm glad the community has been incredible. Take it easy guys.
Hello everyone, my name is Raqib. I've always been fascinated with the SDA community, but this is the first time I'm trying to get into it. I'm a full-time streamer, but I'm usually stuck to just streaming Pokémon X / Y, which is frustrating that I get threats when I try to stream anything else. I want to make it a point to learn how to speed run Sonic Unleashed, to prepare for my second marathon this year with theSpeedGamers. Glad to meet all of you!
hey everyone! I'm valryel and i've been wanting to speedrun for some time now but never really got to it. I decided to finally start and right now i'm in the process of speedrunning the 3rd birthday and looking up some other games from my childhood to run. I also want to at the very least try to speedrun any SMT games.

Nice to meet you all!
Legend of Mana
I've already been posting and running a bit, but I figured I may as well post here. I'm TeganGibby, and I currently run Legend of Mana and am planning on possibly getting into some other games both in similar genres as well as wildly different ones. Possibilities include some sort of Castlevania or Metroid and Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles, but I want to get sub 2-hour LoM on console (or sub 1:56 on emulator to make up for load times) first.
Hi everyone,
My name is BeardyCube (or Beardy). I am 23, from Belgium, student by day and gamer by night.
I am currently not speedrunning anything yet but am planning to work on a gta speedrun.
Looking forward to meet you all Smiley
Whats up gamers?!?
Hey guys my name (TheSmashgamer) was made by 10 year me at a SSBM tourny, hence the gerneric cheesiness of it. Now I just call myself TSG Dean.

I'm not new to the Speedrunning scene as I'm coming back from a long break, but I'm new to SDA forum and I'm back to keeping up with the runs of my favourite games and maybe I'll attempt some runs later down the line, I did do runs a while ago before the scene EXPLODED and loads of people came with new tricks, glitches and so much more.

The runs I did were SMB with Warps (5:15), Bionic Commando Any% (19:32) and Simons Quest Any% (48:26). I was quite proud of these runs at the time but now they are subpar compared to the times for them now. Anyway, I hope I can contribute something in the future and share it with all of you!

Thanks and happy gaming!
Heya, my name's August. I'm working on devving a game with buds by day. I've lurked here casually for at least 6 or so years watching the odd thing once in a while. I recently figured out what AGDQ is, can't wait to donate for the next one. AGDQ also got me interested in joining this community proper and seeing if I can run a game. I'm quite smitten with how well DKC Tropical Freeze turned out and I'm trying to see just how well I can get the times down in each level, maybe get good enough at them to do a run of the whole game later on. Breaking Paper Mario further also looks like a lot of fun.
Hey, I'm Ben, but the internet knows me by my alias "theguesst" ever since my irc days.  Video games have shaped my life in huge ways, I've been competing in events related to gaming ever since my first brawl launch tournament at the young age of 13.  The kind of game I love the most is a game where you are given perfect control of your character's every move.  I'm currently into competitive fighting games; Super Street Fighter 4 AE, Marvel 3, and Melee.  I've only just began to join in events and tournaments for these games so I'm quite busy.  Not to mention I've got college, but I know that a proper education should always come first and games after.  I joined with the intention of data collecting, bug hunting and speedrunning the new Strider game, and from the looks above this post I'm not the only one Grin .  See you in game.
Hi, my name is Minion and I am currently practicing Diddy Kong Racing. I didn't think much about speed running until I found out about SDA and then it quickly developed into an interest. This would be my first time really attempting world records at anything (feasible). I'm excited to be a part of this community.
Cheers.
