Hello everyone! My nickname is Emeth (I'm part of an online team playing on nintendo platforms named "Dash Team" so I place Dash before my nickname everywhere) and I just registered to SDA.

I started to give interest into speedrun and time trial with Mario Kart DS. I made some memorable runs (but now outdated) on Mario Kart games.

I'm currently playing a lot on "Mighty Switch Force!" for Wii U, I think that I'm the guy who used first the recoil of the mighty shot on the 3DS version btw.

I'm planning to run on Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze and Mario Kart 8 next.
Hello! I'm Slimshadow (Friedeltram on twitch).

After watching a lot of Vice City and FFX speedruns for some time now I decided to give it a try myself and I was looking for a game to run it myself.
The game that got most of my attention was Jak & Daxter (especially the AGDQ2014 run by Bonesaw) since I played it a lot when I was younger.
So I tried it myself, but it seems that I have a long road ahead of me until I can execute the important tricks at a good rate.
Currently I am working at improving my extended uppercut which I only get 5% of the time (any help is welcome Wink ).
Hopefully I will soon be able to stream my practice, but currently my internet is just to slow.

Hello!

I have been watching speedruns since AGDQ 2013 and I decided to try it myself.

I'm interested in speedrunning Final Fantasy Tactics A2 and Frogger's Adventures.

Hey everybody, my name is Pandemic, EndlessPandemic. I hope to be running games with all of you soon. One day maybe all of six months back I magically stumbled upon AGDQ on YouTube and have been hooked ever since. I have now made it my goal to one day become good enough to run with Cosmo, Bonesaw, and the like in an effort to raise money to help defeat cancer once and for all, as well as help to get medical treatment to those in need. With that all being said here is a short list of the games I would like to possibly run in the future;

American McGee's: Alice
Dark Souls
Banjo-Kazooie
Banjo-Tooie
Okami
Metroid Fusion
Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem
Hi there, I'm Connor.
I've wanted to try speedrunning stuff for a while, and while my friend drunkenly locked out his credit card by donating money to AGDQ*, I was watching the Diddy Kong Racing run in awe and thought I should have a stab at this speedrunning lark. My goal is to get a fastest time in something. Even if it's just shaving another second on Clue.

*True story, after the $100 mark he got sozzled enough that he forgot his password and his paypal went into lockdown trying to donate another $100. One way to spend an evening.
games are canvas, use them as such
Im Blaky, or Nico :). Im from Chile and i have played aloooot of games until i become a collector. I have wanted to speed run something for a very long time i manage to worked from home for the AGDQ2014 and watch almost all the stream (minus sleep hours), I am trying to do some verifications looking at speedruns to check what I can do, any advice would be appreciated and loved this community so far. Cheers
Hey guys and gals I go by DapperJester or DJ for short. I actually just recently got interested in speedrunning from finding the videos of AGDQ 2013, and loved the idea of going fast. But for my first speedrun i've been trying my hand at Pyschonauts.

I have to say i'm really looking forward to joining this community and having a blast. Take care guys.
Hey, I'm Bryce.  My Nick is Brytice which is pronounced Bright Ice.
I first found speedrunning while browsing twitch and seeing AGDQ 2012, I was lucky enough to catch it right as it started and I ended up watching it the whole way through every hour I was awake.  Ever since then I've been hooked and found myself watching a variety of speedrunners channels.  After every GDQ I get a peaked interest in speedrunning and attempt to start running something but the interest fades away until the next GDQ.

Recently I've started to really get into speedrunning and I'm looking to start streaming soon.  Currently I'm attempting to run Moai Kun a puzzle/platformer for the Famicom.
Hello everyone. I joined SDA a while ago, and I've been visiting the site for years, but never felt like speedrunning anything. Now I'm pretty interested on them and I'm doing a Mario vs Donkey Kong for GBA speedrun this month. I also want to speedrun Trauma Center games.

P.S.: I'm also from Chile Blaky =)
Hey all, I'm Chase. I've been watching speedruns for a while now, but the AGDQs have made me want to be a part of this community. I hope to run the SNES games I grew up with, and maybe shoot for attending AGDQ 2015 or SGDQ 2015. We'll see how it goes!
Hello everyone, I am also joining up because of the last AGDQ, amazing event. I have a stream channel but I hardly ever stream anything, maybe I should change that.

Cya all around.

Hey everyone! I'm Sonira. I've been watching SDA runs for around a year now, I think. My first GDQ was SGDQ 2013. I'm really inspired by the amount of work everyone puts into their runs, and the close community. I finally decided to join up, since I've really thinking about trying to contribute some prizes for marathons.

I'm an artist, primarily a digital artist, though I sometimes dabble in other things like crafts. I'm also working on developing my own indie game (veeeery slowly) and I draw comics now and then.

I love watching speedruns while I work, it honestly really helps me stay on task to have such interesting background noise. I have anxiety and a few other mood disorders, so I often get distracted by my own thoughts as I work, which slows me down a lot. Watching videos helps me by giving me somewhere else to focus part of my attention.

I love game glitches and I love learning about all the different programming quirks games have, and how you can manipulate or observe them to get certain results.

Thanks for all your work! I'm looking forward to the future of speedrunning!
Hey I'm Lanbobyonson. I recently joined SRL and started racing SM64. I've been grinding down 16 star for about a week in races and just got a 20:00 on the dot today lol. I figured I could join SDA forums and check them out when there are no races happening. I've seriously got addicted to racing IDK what to do with myself when I'm not racing. I'm learning/planning for Pokemon Sapphire RTAs possibly WR attempts since it's my favourite game. I'm looking to increase my pool of games to RTA with speedgames I love and ultimately just have fun.

Adorable green puffball
Hi. Deepshock here. I joined SDA out of a newfound interest in speedruns, after watching the recent Relay Race of the SNES final fantasies. I learned a lot about the tricks, gimmicks and out-of-the-box thinking required to do this sort of thing, and now I'm interested in practicing and learning about speedrun best practices so that I can try my hand at doing a few. These things take time and practice, and I'm going to enjoy practicing, and reading/learning about them from SDA and other sources.

I'm considering doing an ANY% and a 100% selfdestruct free run of The Guardian Legend once I've sufficiently practiced. I can assume that in the interest of fairness, an SD-free run would have to be no-death as well, or at least no deaths between completing a corridor and entering a new indoor room (SDing to save time usually happens right after beating a corridor boss).

Let's Mosey!
Good evening, all, I am Metako. I hail from Northern Ireland, and have been gaming since I was a child. I first heard about speedrunning shortly after a year ago, and found the archives of AGDQ 2013. Needless to say, I was hooked on the notion, and have followed every marathon since, taking particular joy from C4L.

I have been watching a few streamers regularly since SGDQ 2013, and have finally taken the dive to speedrun, myself. I am a huge Final Fantasy fan, and seeing the activity of CaracarnVi, Essentia and Puwexil, I am eager to chase after some of their runs. I am starting with the Playstation FFs, and hope to move onto the SNES games, console and time permitting. I also have a keen interest in Pokémon, and seeing how the runs are a good third of the FF times, a nice alternative when I'm short on time.

I will start my streaming experience tonight with some FFVII practice, and maybe a Pokémon Blue run (we'll see how things go), and aim to collect the set for both, and I must find the time for some SOTN too, because...well, SOTN.

Anyhows, that's my bit, I'm going to start this stream. You may find me at:

Greetings all! my name is irishreaper86 or Josh!  Im 28 years old and  ive been wathcing SDA since i found them from SDGQ 2012!  im trying to get into speedrunning and would like any help available.  i want to do runs on SNES or N64, but i am also looking into PS3 games such as Demon's souls and Dark Souls.  i have a Twitch channel and a Youtube channel!
Dom Host.
Hello people. My name is Dom. Or mostly Ultima9032. There really isnt that much to learn about me other than I think I am a pretty fun person. I learned about speed running through my friend around 09-10 ish. I thought that this was pretty amazing how there are lots of ways to beat a game really fast. So a few years went by and I bought a better awesome computer for me to play my games on and such. So I thought, why not try streaming a few things to get used to talking to people and to have fun talking to them while playing my games. I like it a lot. I at first streamed a few games that were just for fun. But the more that I watched AGDQ, it make me think of what game could I speed run. Asura's Wrath, one of my favorite games. I looked in the archives and saw that there was no record of that game being speed run. Since that I have fun playing that game because you are a demi god punching and exploding everywhere, would make a cool game for people to watch and talk to me in the process. Its about a 2 hour game maybe a little more. I actually streamed my first run on twitch and got about 2.24.00. Now this can lead to huge improvements beacause I let my friends watch a few cut scenes because I messed up the splits. I have the file I believe to show my run but I might just do another one with correct splits and such. Other than that, I would like to stream more and as greedy as it sounds, get more viewers. I believe that I can make people laugh and have fun. And maybe hate me but thats life. Anyway, if anyones interested, let me know. Im usually free most of the week. Depending on how or when I feel like streaming its not that often because i would like to have a couple more people watch me and tear my way through Asura's Wrath. I might speed run other games in the future but i would like to atleast get my favorite game on the leader board before then :). Thanks guys!
Hi I am Celeb. I am very new to speedrunning. I am 24 and work at informatics for public administration.

Hey guys!

I've been following the SDA marathons since 2009 or 2010, can't remember exactly. I heard about it when I was following a youtuber called Slowflake, which happened to be a fellow French Canadian, but streaming his let's play videos in fluid english. He always made it sound like it was so amazing and all that, so when I actually had the chance to, I did watch a couple of streams and I was indeed impressed and very interested in continuing to follow the events. At some point, I had no time, no motivation, my IRL was total crap, until recently. So I got the chance to catch up and bring myself updated once again.

I usually never speedrun any game as it is very hard for me, since my medical situation prevents me from being able to do it. I learned about video games when I was 2 years old or so, when my oldest cousin started to show me more and more games, full 100% playthroughs live and all that. So I really enjoy more to watch people destroy every possible game than to do it myself, since I'm so used to watch full playthroughs and I enjoy that a lot.

Of course, it would be very nice if I could be able to attend some marathons, but without speedrunning, it looks so thrilling to be able to attend the marathons live, even without running any games. All of you guys seem so nice and friendly, it sure encourages me to try to attend one - or more eventually - marathons, even if I have to travel by plane!

As of my occupations, I am 21 years old and I'm an IT tech, working downtown Montreal, for those who know that city in a certain canadian province hidden far in the Eastern part...xD
I play games too, but I love to sit down and take it easy and smoothly, although I did try some glitches from certain speedruns, which was a success and surprising.

By the way, my username, GhostNappa refers to the Dragonball Z parody made by TeamFourStar.
Hey, guys I'm formally introducing myself to the speedrunning community with this post. I became casually aware of sda through a lot of videos on youtube probably less than half a year ago. I think the first video that really got my attention was the ninja gaiden 2 race by Duckfist and Sinister1 as I had fond memories of trying to beat the game as a kid. AGDQ 2014 was the first time I actually got to watch a live marathon and since then I've starting streaming FTL runs on twitch. I don't know if I will ever have the time to speedrun a game seriously but who knows what the future holds.
Hey Guys

Camouflage Here, im 26 and from the UK.
As you can tell by my avatar, im a big suikoden fan, and a big fan of SDA and all of the marathons associated.
I dont speed run games yet, i unfortunately do not have the time, and every game i seem to love, dragondarch just destroys them with awesome speed times! (Brain Lord being one of them!)
I always thought my times in games were really good, however upon seeing some of these speed times it really makes me wonder!.

I have been lurking here for a good while now, thought it would be appropriate to create my avatar and introduce myself Smiley

Greetings, one and all. My name is Nathan, I'm 26, I live in Canada. It's cold.

My favorite series are Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid and Batman: Arkham. I have never attempted a speedrun, however I'm interested in learning. Figured this would be the place to do it. I've seen some speed running in the past, but recently, after discovering the archived runs from AGDQ and SGDQ, I have gotten more interested in the process as a whole.

I look forward to learning about this community, and about some/most/all of you.
Hey all, MoldySpore here. Been watching speed runs on youtube for a year or so now. Finally caught AGDQ 2014 live this year and decided it was time to finally register and think about running something myself.

I was so surprised when I discovered speed running, and was even more so when I found that people were running RPG's, especially Final Fantasy 4 and Chrono Trigger. After watching all the amazing runners who have already beat the crap out of some of my favorite games (Brossentia, puwexil, obdajr, and RaneofSoTN to name just a few), I can't resist trying to learn myself.

Looking forward to becoming a part of the SDA community, and to many long hours grinding the rust off my Final Fantasy 4 (2) cartridge while I learn the ways of speed running.
Hey everyone I'm NiNJa_OwNeD or Daniel if that's any easier also I'm from the UK. I have recently become interested in speed running after the last AGDQ and I am currently working on speed running Thomas Was Alone, then I am not sure what I will do after. I know it is a game not many people actually speed run (seriously there is hardly anyone) but it is a great game and I look forward to getting a good run soon Smiley I'm also looking forward to being a part of the SDA community. Good evening, morning, noon and afternoon everyone, I am Stereo Czar, or also known as Z3r05t4r. Currently twenty years old, originating from Austria, currently student. I have been gaming for pretty much my lifetime (PC for the win) and watched my first speedrun a good amount of years ago. Immediately caught my interest and was simply astonished by the... well, speed of the runners to finish their games. Oh, and the first run I watched was for Morrowind, the game which took me twenty-seven hours to playthrough once. With cheats. So much for side-quests. ;P
