Hey everyone!
I'm from France.
I'm a Croc : Legend of the Gobbos speedrunner, new to speedruns.
For now, I'm running on emulator. Cause I can't play on console at the moment.
Feel free to send me a message if you want to have some infos about Croc.
Hey guy! I've always known these forums have existed, but this is the first time I've decided to give it a shot.

I ran smw for a couple weeks and managed to whittle my time down to 13 minutes or so. I'm planning on picking up Link's awakening, as it's my favorite zelda game, and a top game overall.

I look forward to interacting with people who share an interest in speed running.
Hello everyone! I'm MegiddoRain, or Tylor, or sometimes Slick, The Duke.

I wanna give this whole mindset to games a shot to see if it fits me, I hop around from community to community, and hope to find another home here!

I'm currently interested in picking up Dragon's Dogma, Dark Souls (If I could find my preferred flavor), and Vanquish.

My Favorite game of all time is Monster Hunter, and I love to totally dweeb out on games I love and just guru all over the place lol, this seems the place for me. Big fan of AGDQ and so glad with this year's turn out.

Gonna start running at my local store with a friend or two, to show the community how exciting video games can be even if you've beat them, support and love will be given and hopefully recieved, thanks! ^_^
Hey there Smiley
I'm from Germany and I registered on this site quite a while ago but never ended up posting anything. Probably because I was mostly watching speedruns on SRL and only raced a few times. AGDQ this year inspired me to finally start speedrunning some of the games I love.
I'm a little bit of a Tetris nut so I made a small speedrun warmup playing that game in the 100 lines category. Ended up getting a sub 6 which isn't bad.
In the future I'll be speedrunning modern games though mostly ones that aren't the most popular ones to speedrun. Especially Zen Pinball 2 which will be crazy. Other games I plan on trying are Bionic Commando (the new one), Just Cause 2, Colin McRae DirT 2 (not sure if it's runnable) and maybe some of the Ratchet & Clank games.

Looking forward to getting more active in this great community Cheesy

Ladies Love Cool Kris
Hello, I'm LLCoolK, aka Kris, aka Dave

Been watching videos and playing games at a rather rapid pace for awhile. Just decided to make an account to associate with folks.
Tomba! YA YA YA
Hello SDA, i'm Raikou99(mainly this one)/Valfore99/RaikouNaValfore

I'm from Australia, been a lurker in the Speedrun community for over a year now, originally running Sonic Generations PC in segmented style and now starting up the new Freedom Fall game on steam, i hope to pick up a few others as i begin getting fully into it.  Got a couple of my Generations speedruns up on my youtube channel Valfore99.

Have been interested in the speedrun community since AGDQ2013, watched AGDQ2014 live with very little sleep in-between the entire marathon, looking forward to the bonus stream

Hope to truly become apart of this wonderful community Smiley
That's the power of the Keyyyblaaade
Hey guys, RoryExtraLife here. I'm a 21 year old guy from the UK, currently in Scotland, although I'm English. I started to enjoy speedrunning after AGDQ 2013, after watching a bunch of highlights, and started learning FF7, which went horribly so I moved onto other games. Currently I'm working on games in the Kingdom Hearts series, and will eventually move on to learning the other Final Fantasy games, although speedrunning Kingdom Hearts 1.5 has been a lot more fun than I initially thought!

I've been casually seeing a few posts here or there in my searches for help with various things, but only today thought about signing up to the forums. Hopefully I can become more involved in the community than I already am. Smiley
Hello everyone! I'm UberDonut. I'm 25, from the United States, and I love video games!
I am pretty new to this community only immersing myself into it a few days ago with ADGQ2014. Months ago I found a Zelda OoT speedrun on Reddit done by Cosmo and was blown away. But after that I didn't really pay any attention to the speedrunning community at all. But I recently had a conversation with a friend of mine and somehow speedruning OoT came up. So I hunted for that same video of Cosmo I had seen months ago and was instantly entranced. After a quick Google search I found Speed Demos Archive, which redirected to the AGDQ marathon. I was blown away by the whole marathon and became inspired to practice speed running myself.
Moo for all the cows
Hello everyone, I am Johaa and i am from a town called Tewkesbury in England.

I have been watching the AGDQ Marathon and the SGDQ for the past two years and have been meaning to speedrun something. I joined this forum a while back and have forgotten if i had posted here before so i thought that i would introduce myself again just incase I hadn't already. I am looking to speed-run PC games only but have not yet found the one that i could play for a long time with out killing my mouse or keyboard.
Hey I am RealLifeChibi. I am brand new to speed running. I have heard about it but never saw it until AGDQ14 and have to say I am hooked.  I am hoping to be able to get a old SNES one day and some of my favorite games and do runs on a actual system, but for now a emulator will have to do. I also am looking at some PC games that I could speed run but haven't picked one out yet.  I hope to get to talk to some of you and really get to know this community.  If you ever wanna talk just message me~
Good evening! I have been watching these things since AGDQ 2013 and had a good solid month where I watched as many past runs as I could. Everytime I watch these things I get pretty jacked so I figure it is about time I stop being a spectator and become a part of the community. I look very much so forward to making some buddies and of course tearing the heck out of some games with ya'll.

Also, If anyone here is in the Chicago Land area and ever wants to hit an arcade, a local game shop or grab a beer on the weekends please feel free to send me a message!

BRZAAAAAP!
Hey there everyone! What's good? Cheesy

My name is Atratus and I am a huge FGC and Speedrunning enthusiast.  Got into the scene a few years ago and figured it is time to go from lurker to runner!

I personally am practicing right both an amazing romhack of Mega Man 4 called Rock Man 4 Minus Infinity *learning both any% and ver .05 100% killing the final shadowman in wily 4* as well as Mega Man X1 *any% and 100%*

My goal is to eventually be "competitive" in all of the X series games *even x7 ;p* as well as having a near TAS-perfect run *sans crits* of Rock Man 4 Minus Infinity.

Looking forward to attending SDGQ 14 and making my attendance of future GDQ's a definite thing in my life.

Here is to an amazing future, friends Cheesy
My name is Brian, but I go my name as MisanthropicBuddha (or Buddha for short).  I don't speedrun, but I am a fan starting with AGDQ 2012 (watching the old videos on YouTube).  I finally decided to make an account, and I may start speedrunning one of these days.  Nice to meet ya in advance.
Ello everyone! o/

My name is linksonick, usually shortened to LSK. I have been a fan of speedrunning since 2010 and as of late 2012 have gotten into it myself. The main games I run now are ALttP (up to the Master Sword) and I am currently in the process of learning the MST route of OoT. In the past I also did The Wind Waker up to the master sword.

Speedrunning has become a very large hobby to me as it's something I can do that completely clears my head. When I'm running a game I don't focus on anything but the run, so any bad thoughts I may have from a bad day, etc. are gone. I'm glad to be a part of this community and plan to be around for a while to come.
Real life glitching since 2010
Short version --

Saw Siglemic a short time ago. Got majorly hooked into speedrunning. Experienced AGDQ 2014 online. Became more passionate. I am now attempting a WR of River City Ransom 100% (should be easy; I don't think anyone else has officially done it). Most frustrating thing I've ever tried in my life, but it'll be great. I hope to attend one of the next GDQs and run the game, as well as contend in Smash.

Also, I do ninja flips. That's my main hobby:

Tricking Combo

Career wise, I'm an actor and trombonist (jazz and concert). I do some gamemaking, manga art, and bodybuilding on the side.

My name is John Franks. I'm 19 years old from Ohio, USA. Now you now me a bit. Carry on.
Trying so hard
Hey there everyone.

Been into the Speedrunning scene since AGDQ 2012 so I'm long overdue to come on these forums and chat a bit when I have some free time. I'm also starting to learn how to speedrun myself, which is probably going to test me a lot more than I'd like to admit. I'm starting with a lesser known PC game called Little Big Adventure (also known as Relentless: Twinsen's Odyssey) as well as looking at doing a 2D platformer on an older console (heavily leaning towards Bubsy: Claws Encounters Of The Furred Kind).

Really hoping I stick with it and get to meet and befriend some people on this site.

Thank you for reading, talk in the future Smiley
I'm phira. My nick is pronounced FEAR-uh. I've been an avid video game watcher since I was little, although my big brother hogged the consoles, so I didn't start playing games till I was 12 or 13. I'm mostly a Zelda player, and did a non-glitch Ocarina of Time run for a Zelda marathon streamed back in 2010. Took me about 9.5 hours (which was at least 1.5 hours longer than it needed to be). I'm currently doing a complete run-through of all of the canon Zelda games, in order, with my partner, who's also a big Zelda fan (caveat: had to watch a Let's Play of Four Swords GBA. Oh well).

I watched AGDQ 2013 and part of AGDQ 2014 and am really fascinated by glitching in speed runs, since they're cool from a game design stand point. I'm not sure I'm going to start speed running, but I definitely would like to learn more about it and become more familiar with it, at least for my favorite Zelda games.

I'm 27, and I live in Boston, MA, USA. I'm a biologist, currently working towards a PhD; I'd like to be a college professor. When I'm not playing Zelda, I'm watching TV, running, staring hopelessly at my finances, chasing a small bird around my apartment, and questioning my decision to go to graduate school. I am incredibly not cool; enjoy.
Time to get movin'!
Hello there. ^_^ I've been visiting Speed Demos Archive since around 2005 or 2006. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I have fond memories of downloading videos of games I've played, and having my mind blown at some of them. The only reason I say "I can't believe I'm saying this" is because I can't believe I just referred to 2005-2006 like it was a long time ago, but I've been watching and downloading videos for awhile now. Of course, nowadays, all those mind-blowing tricks seem old hat to me after having watched the videos over and over. Every now and then though, I see something new that blows my mind, like the F-Zero X speedrun I saw during AGDQ.

Which brings me to the reason probably a lot of people are joining recently: I've been watching Awesome Games Done Quick, and figured I might as well go ahead and finally register after all this time. I can't do any speedruns of games, so I'll probably sit here and be useless for the most part. Unless of course, the game has rewards for beating it quickly (Metroid series, Perfect Dark, KH 1.5 Remix, etc.) What better place to ask for advice than here? ^^

As for myself, well, I'm pretty lazy, so I'm probably not going to be that active of a poster. Also, as a far warning, I can be pretty neurotic about things. For example, it was driving me crazy that no one who used the Game Boy Player was playing with the Full screen size. (Z Button : Options -> Screen -> Full.) And also, I'm probably pretty annoying with other details... (Like all the pronounciations I heard during the Chrono Trigger speedrun...) I'm also a wannabe-game-developer, but if you were paying attention at the beginning of this... I'm lazy, so that's probably never going to happen. It would be cool though to make a game that people would like to speedrun. (And if RPG Maker games and Multimedia Fusion games can make it, why not?)

Also, I guess I'm "transgender". Another thing about me is that the internet's incessant need for buzzwords and terminology. I prefer language and using actual sentences to describe things, rather than lazily using a single word or term to refer to something. (One reason why I hate TVTropes...) So I'm not sure if "transgender" fits me (Since, knowing the internet, who knows if it'll mean the same thing in a few years? Terminology seems to change quickly on here...) but I'm a guy, and wish I was a girl. I do actually dress up like a girl (doesn't mean I look like one...), so if my obnoxious corrections don't push someone away, that probably will. ^^; Again, just a fair warning.

It's nice to finally register after finally watching videos off and on since 2005 or so.

Heyyo,
just wanted to post something simple here..

I'm mostly a casual twitch streamer/gamer under the same name as here on the forum.
I'm from Sweden and an active member of ludendi/ESA.

I started with learning to run Alice Madness Returns after last years ESA ended,
so that is a game I stream more often then others.
If not Alice then it's usually some random game derping as I use to call it.

When I'm not playing I spend a lot of time with many many tv shows and/or
working with some artsie stuff.

On this forum I am more of a lurker since I'm not officially a speedrunner.
But it's nice to be here and I hope to talk to any of you more another time.

Kisses

Hello everyone, I'm DrWecko. 24 years old from France and proud member of the brand new Germench community. I'm an officiel IT technician for 8 month and put a lot of interest in networks stuff and programming.

I discovered the SDA a few years ago but without really open the door of the speedrun world. Now with twitch it's easier to find fun speedrunners and interact with them. I really want to give some of my time to that now.
It started this year with my first commentary on the french restream of AGDQ. I also work on my first speedruns which will be on Gateways from Smudge Cat Games and maybe Final Fantasy V next.

When i'm not playing game I play the drum with my band and listen to/make music on computer.

Bye.

Hello everyone Smiley My name is Kelly (aka: Kelly0Green) and I am an aspiring speedrunner. I am 21 years old and I live in the Netherlands(so excuse any grammar errors, please Smiley ) I hail mostly around Tumblr and Youtube and I have only been introduced to speedrunning in 2013 while watching AGDQ. Starting from there, I have mainly lurked around and watching other people. But I think it's now finally the time to try some stuff Smiley I am still practising some glitches; starting with The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, so it will be a while before I start running, let alone post anything, haha! But I am practising and trough that I hope I can start speedrunning myself and doing races. So maybe I'll see ya'all around soon Smiley

Thank you so much for reading, much love,

Kelly~
Hi everyone, I'm Chase, and I'm a speedrunning fan and streamer. I used to submit photos of low times way back in the Nintendo Power days, and compete  on Mario runs with friends. I'm a NYC based audio engineer, and I'm interested in getting involved in the tech/support side, so feel free to message me with any questions for all things audio. I'm planning on streaming indie PC and next-gen console games, and causally speed-running in the process. And hopefully lending a hand for future SGDQ/AGDQs!

Thanks for the great runs and more to come!
Chase
