So, my name is LowKeeee. I currently speedrun Starfox on the SNES and I may or may not do Crusaders of Might and Magic. My speedrunning career is very young, and inspired my none other than Cosmo.
I don't know how to speedrun
Hey all! I've been practicing an OOT speedrun and I finally got the timing for the Wrong Warp down, I figured I'd celebrate by forcing myself into the community!
Hello!

I still don't understand how Twitch works, but once I get it figured out I'm gonna be streaming OOT and Stepmania because I'm a loser.
Scrubbin' out, every day.
I wasn't really sure of a good place to start, so I suppose I could introduce myself here. Tongue

My name is Amber, and I'm fast approaching my 1 year anniversary of streaming on Twitch.tv I got into speedrunning by beginning with Sonic Adventure 2 Battle's Hero Side Story back in the month of June, I believe. I also do some Pokemon, mostly randomizer stuff for Gens 1-3. I really just enjoy Speedrunning as a means of breathing new life into games I've played for years. I'm no professional, but there's nothing more satisfying than getting a new PB, or looking into challenging myself in new ways with the games I love.

I'm looking forward to my time in the community! :3

Hey everyone,

My name is Tom (and as you can tell from my alias, I'm a bit of a Final Fantasy VIII fan Tongue ) and I was introduced into speed gaming from watching The Speed Gamers marathons throughout the past few years.  I vaguely knew about Speed Demos Archive and had watched a run or two that was on the site before.  I was more formally was introduced to SDA, as well as SRL, earlier this year when I found out about AGDQ 2013 and watched as much as I could when I wasn't working, following that up with watching everything I missed in the archives.  Since then, my interest in Speed Gaming has increased and I've been planning on taking it up for a while and might start streaming soon.  I'm looking forward to, as well as attending, AGDQ 2014.

Hope to get to know many of you in the community.

Speedrunning noob
Hey all! Love speedruns and am working on a run of castlevania mirror of fate for 3ds.Hope to get it recorded and submit asap! Glad to be a part of such an awesome community Smiley
hello every one,
my name is zach but any one can call me SuperMagnet i plan on speed running super magnetic neo on the sega dreamcast. i started to be interested in speed running since i could remember playing super mario bros on the nes. my cousins and i would try to compete and see who could get through the game the fastest and it was always a blast when we did. I only recently found out about adgq and i was hooked on how fast games like zelda OOT could be beaten so quickly.
Hello everyone, I've just recently gotten into doing speedrunning myself, but i've known about the community for about a year now through watching Youtube videos and streams of well known speed runners, and i figured i'd get into it myself.

I'm a huge fan of survival horror games and I've not recorded myself doing so yet, but i am practicing games like the original Resident Evil PSX games and also want to try Silent Hill, but i don't see alot of runs for that game which makes me think they're not that viable.

I plan to eventually figure out twitch so i can do streaming, but right now i'm just practicing until i get the chance to get the equipment needed. I look forward to joining this community and contributing as i've really wanted to do this since learning about it.
Sup all. I'm Stevo, but my ign I've been using is Metallama. I hope to speedrun Yoshi's Island and maybe A Link to the Past if I find that I enjoy speedrunning.
Hi everyone, just call me severian. I've never been involved in speedrunning before, but I saw some AGDQ videos of Ocarina of Time and thought they were really cool. I'm actually joining now because I'm thinking of trying to run Pandora's Tower.
I'm too casual.
Hey everybody, I've been a fan of speedrunning for a little over 3 years, watching AGDQ and SRL runners play all of my favorite and not so favorite games from when I was a kid. I'm thinking about getting into speedrunning but I'm not too sure on what to run as I have no proper equipment to record. PC is my only asset for now! I do let's plays but they are starting to get very boring for me so I'm taking up speedrunning! Also, everyone just calls me Jak or Djak but my real name is Eric.
Hi all

im BillyBankai ,the other day i found feasel stream on twitch and i get intrested by maybe running some runs..

im not that skilled for those thing but for my own pleasure i will have great fun playing games that ive been playing when i was a kid.

AJ Blair
Hello everybody, I'm Platymoo, real name AJ Blair. I first heard of speedrunning after watching AGDQ 2013, but have been kinda doing it on my own not knowing it was an actual thing for many years now. My friends and I would race in SMW and CNK when we were younger, finding short cuts and what not and hiding them from one another to keep our advantage.

I've been kind of on a nostalgia binge lately and really want to get back to some of that stuff. I've recently acquired an SNES and a copy of SMW and am hoping to do nothing but play that for hours on end, if college will let me.

I'm currently a 3D animation major in my Junior year at Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design. I'm hoping to go into children's film when I "grow up".

I also am an avid Speedcuber, solving Rubik's cubes and other twisty puzzles as fast as I can. At the time of posting this, I'm currently top 50 in the world overall out of about 23,500 competitors.

Hope to get swallowed up by this community the same way speedcubing swallowed me up 6 years ago Smiley
Hi everyone.

I am Greenounet (aka Green), french speedrunner.
I started speedrunning last summer because the only thing i had to play with was my gamecube. And I liked it.
I am currently on Super Monkey Ball 2 and Phantasy Star Online Episode 3 : the card game.
I am now on Twitch, so don't hesitate to say me hello.
I guess why not introduce myself.

I don't know how active I'll be here on the forums really, it depends on how useful I am at speedrunning and whether it holds my interest.  I'm looking for answers to some basic questions about doing speedruns first, like specifically what software is recommended for attempting TAS's on different platforms, how to find out if a game has had runs attempted before, what the standards are for a run being "official", and if possible lists of games without any known runners yet.  I'm looking to focus on new territory that hasn't been explored much rather than trying to save a few frames off the record on popular titles.

Hopefully my lifetime of game experience will be useful!
Hey all,

I'm Anubit3Blad3, real name Ray T. I just recently gotten into speedrunning (after watching all of the AGDQ 2012 + 13 archives). I've never attempted anything myself but I definitely want to start trying some games out (not as a competitor, but as a casual runner). I chose casual due to majority of the games that i enjoy playing are heavily influenced on RNG.

Thanks again and I will be watching you guys on AGDQ 2014!

Hello SDA

I'm from Denmark and I mostly run Silent Hill on PS1. No recorded runs or streams so far, but I hope to make some videos for youtube in the future. I have a fondness for PS1 games, and would love to make runs for some lesser known games for that console. Probably some horror games, and maybe this claymation platformer called Skullmonkeys. (although maybe not skullmonkeys since it is really fucking hard to do without game overs.)

I also like NES games, favorites are SMB3, Ninja Gaiden, Bubble Bobble and Tetris. I speedrun them casually from time to time, but nothing serious yet. I usually love watching any NES and SNES runs though.
Hello

My name is Tskidless real name Thomas.  You guys got me into speedrunning and now I want to start streaming and record runs.
The first game I'm going to try is Disgaea 2 on the ps2 and move on to games like Metroid and Mario.
Ate the extra spicy banana
Hi! I saw loads of runs from ADGQ 2012/2013 and SGDQ and wanted to check some speed runs of my favorite games. I loved seeing OOT and my favorite rareware games being broken I had to visit.

Currently I only run Legend of Mana as its the game that consumed me for the better part of 3 years as a youth, and I've actually beaten it 10 minutes faster than the current record for the Dragon route (though I have no equipment for recording, so I practice on an emulator these days.) I mainly speedrun for fun though, cuz why else would you speedrun? Cheesy
Wheeeeee
Been gaming since 86.  I love watching speedruns and just playing games.  Seeing all the game i grew up with get smashed so spectacularly is a real joy.  I follow a fair amount of runners on Youtube, and love seeing them come up with new tricks and optimizations.  Some day ill put in some real work and Speed run Kid Icarus, the first game i ever bought.
Name is ddrmasterdude, been following sda since about agdq 2012, but didn't really get into speedrunning myself, until about a year ago. I Currently speed run Wizards and Warriors III, and MC Kids.  I currently have a run of WW3 being verified for this site at the moment, I hope it gets accepted along with any other speedrun records I happen to accomplish
Hi SDA,

I'm a software engineer at Google working on Chrome.  Been gaming for decades and watching speedruns and TASes for years (not a speedrunner myself, though if I ever did I might try my hand at Super Mario Kart).  I'm also a prolific poster over at shacknews.com.  I joined so I could come to AGDQ 2014 and hang out with everyone.  Hope you all are enjoyable in person!

Hello SDA! I'm also a long time lurker. Worked with animation, teaching, and game stuff in the past. Now I'm looking for some new adventures, and thought I'd volunteer for helping at AGDQ 2014. Such a noble cause, and I get to watch all those runs live! Can't speedrun to save my life, but really into watching them. Also love them TAS madness.

Havent applied for volunteering yet, as I live pretty far, and have to double-check budget and free time before committing, but I'm making it my mission. I'll do my best to be there for the maximum duration I can.
Hello there,

My name is Hawkrex, I am 22, I'm french (so sorry if I don't speak english correctly), I am a student in computer science engineering.

I speedrun some games since a couple of months.

Don't hesitate to contact me Wink
Hello SDA,

I'm a Computer Science student that will be graduating very soon and though I'm not a speedrunner I am huge SNES nerd. I found you guys through your awesome charity work and look forward to AGDQ 2014 in January. As my screen name implies I'm not the most prolific post out there but I'll be around.
Today?
Hey guys Smiley My name's Brad, but Bradrenaline and Beezus seem to be common nicknames Tongue

I first found out about SDA and competitive Speedrunning in 2008 when I bought Duke Nukem 3D for the Xbox Live Arcade, which up until recently I got a lot of enjoyment from Speedrunning. I Speedrun a few games which include DN3D, Dragonball Z Budokai 3 (HD Remake), Serious Sam: TFE (XBLA Version), TimeSplitters 2 (Xbox Version) and Yu-gi-oh! 5Ds Decade Duels Plus (XBLA Version).

I am finally looking into obtaining recording and streaming equipment so I can upload runs to SDA, which is the main reason I've registered.
As a very optimistic person, I look forward to one day helping SDA to raise money for various charities while playing the games I love at the competitive level us Speedrunners push ourselves to achieve... While remembering to laugh and have fun of course ^_^
