Hello everybody,
I am Zedna from Austria. I've been following the speedrunning community for about 8 months now and finally decided to get into it myself.
One of my first speedrunning experiences was watching AGDQ 2013 which I found awesome and ever since I am watching speedruns on a regular basis.
I mostly run RPGs such as Pokemon or Final Fantasy games and sometimes some Diablo II and participated in a few SRL races.

I am still a newbie so please don't hate on me if I say something stupid Tongue also please forgive my (sometimes) bad English, since its not my native language Smiley
Hope to have a good time here on SDA Wink

Were there Austrians at ESA? I couldn't watch the whole thing but the time I watched I didn't see one there  Tongue
ESA 14 would be awesome but thats still a long way to go but there is still some time so who knows Cheesy
Ello, name is Erik, nickname OdderPawp.
I've been watching Speedruns for about 6 months, and really haven't done a run of my own. I've been practicing NSMB Wii for a week or two now, but with no capture card, I don't imagine I'll get much use out of it.
I'm going to try and start practicing some other games from older generations and hope to become respectable in some. Hope to enjoy being part of this community!

Zedna: Check the bonus stream, especially the game 'Beer, the last Eichhof' or something like that. There was a group of four Wink

Hello, my name is Brad. I've been a fan of speedruns since around 2010. While I'm not yet a speedrunner, I came here to learn. I'm still searching for a game that I can enjoy playing enough to stick with it through thick and thin. Once I get the proper equipment, I plan on using my Twitch account for more than watching speedrunners and Let's Players lol.
Heyhey! My names Beks, I'm 20 and from the UK! I'm new to the forums and speedrunning in general really xD. After watching the charity streams I was pretty amazed at the skill of all of the runners. I haven't tried it before and thought it looked alot of fun so here I am ^^. I'm looking into speedrunning my favourite games of all time Pokemon and many other of my childhood favourites like Spyro.

Hey guys, how's it going? My name is Mujjating or Tommy, either one is fine, I'm 18 and from the UK. I've been consistently watching speedrunning for about a year now, and have been practicing games in my own spare time off my stream because I couldn't decide on a game I really wanted to speedrun.

I've been streaming for about a month now on twitch, although that was mostly Cube World as I run a podcast about that game called CubeCast. But now I'll mostly be streaming speedruns when I get my capture card at the end of the month.

I look forward to chatting to you guys in the community, and taking part in discussions and all that fun stuff Smiley

Certified Wumbologist
Hey everyone!  CyclopsDragon, Canadian student and certified Wumbologist, reporting in.  I've been following speedruns for quite some time now, but as of the week before SGDQ 2013, I've been starting to learn it myself.

I've been working on casually speedrunning Magicka, mainly just seeing what kind of routing I could do on my own, but now that I've checked the old thread for it, I have a few more things that I have to check to see if they've been patched, and then I'm going to go for some more serious runs.  Also, when I'm satisfied with my level in Magicka, I'm planning on routing a new game + run of an old GBC game called Magi-Nation, which apparently no one's heard of except for me.  I would try to stream stuff, but my internet speed doesn't allow it without dropping 40% of my frames.

As for a bit about myself in real life, I'm going into music performance (tenor saxophone) starting in the fall, and I also play drums.
Hi! I'm Bocom and I'm from Sweden.

I have been speedrunning games casually before, running for example 16 Stars SM64, Super Monkey Ball and 5/10 Mask Majora's Mask and also racing those games and categories with friends (I even made a leaderboard page for our records and races).
However, sometime during SGDQ2013, I decided that it was time for me to start learning a game I love but hesitated to pick up for speedrunning, which is Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon for the N64. I also picked up SotN any% a while back, which I hope will be fun to get better at.
I'm Rekks, I suppose. I'm 26, from Indiana, and enjoy a fine bottle of water. I first got into gaming with speed with the Quake demos, but I've never really gotten into an online community. I've casually run a number of games, but just got int competitive speedrunning recently, with an emphasis on the PS1 and SNES games. I'm rather mammalian otherwise.

Don't sneeze.
The bigger, the better.
Hi, i'm Hugo, also known as Hightower in many MMO games that I played. I'm 30 years old, have a beautiful daughter with 3 to 4 years old and a awesome wife. I got into speedrunning when i discovered by chance AGDQ2013, and then started lurking the forum and the streams of many SDA gamers, while practicing my own SotN any% runs. In July the game i love got a port to PC and PS3, which is Dungeons and Dragons: Shadow over Mystara, and i decided to start making an effort to join the SDA Team charity events someday with a awesome run of this game. I also intend to speedrun games that i have pretty decent knowledge, like Phantasy Star 4, Gunstar Heroes, and Super Street Fighter 4.
Hello everyone! My name is Steve! I just started speed running Super Monkey Ball for the GameCube, and have been gaining more knowledge after watching Advanced Level speed runs of this game, but anyways, after watching SGDQ 2013, I thought that I would create an account on the forum, because you guys seem like a great group of people and it is my dream to get into SpeedRunsLive (after a bunch of practice) and as well as to attend a live charity marathon, because it seems like such a wonderful time, to meet new people and watch great runners play great games!!

I have known about SDA for about 3 months now after searching speed runs of games I like and coming across footage of previous "Games Done Quick" marathons, and it really was entertaining watching all of those games, and laughing at commentaries, and shouting after every cool moment!  I hope to meet new people and make friends while on this forum!!

Thanks!!
-Steve^_^
Greetings! My name is Erick and I've just gotten into speed running.  I was inspired by the charity marathon and I would love to be a part of it.  The game I'm looking to run is Silent Hill 1.  I've been working  on the run for some time now.  The beginning to the nightmare version of the elementary school to be exact.  My goal is to get a little over an hour with normal difficulty with any ending.  I really hope I will be accepted to take part in AGDQ 2014 not only to be a part of this great community, but to use my skills for a great cause.  Happy gaming! Smiley
From my forum experience of forums, no one reads the newcomers forum, but fuck it.

Hi, I'm Wittyyyy or Noah, I like video games and I like to play them fast. Also I'm planning on going to AGDQ2014, hope to see some of you there!
My name is Jonny, glad to meet you!
hi everyone. my name is Jonny and i just recently got hooked on speedruns because of runners like Cosmowright, Werster, Blueglass, and iateyourp1e. i have been watching pretty much all of SGDQ including the bonus stream and i just had to sign up. i love nintendo games the most and would love help with planning out a speedrun for I-Ninja on the gamcube. i like it because it's quirky and fun to play and watch while not being terribly long, but i would love help figuring out routing and finding any sort of skips or manipulations. im 18 years old amd hope to stream soon after i enroll in college and get a job.i look forward to being part of this amazingcommunity.
It stopped...
Hello, my name is Daniel and I go by Arconnect here and on Twitch.  I've been following the speed running community for a few years now and I've been playing my focus game, Cave Story, since 2008.  All in all, I've beaten it about 50 times across all of its versions and about 3 days ago I finally started practicing any% for it.  It's been a ton of fun figuring out how to get Twitch set up.

But ya, my time right now is about 1 hour and 25 minutes after 3 days of practice, with six months more I'm sure I'd be ready for a GDQ of some sort.  I would be honored to join your community.
Hey guys!
My name is Carleigh and I'm from Canada.
I've been watching live streams of people speedrunning games for a while now. I just decided to make an account on here today.
I watched AGDQ2013 and was so hyped to see SGDQ2013. I was not disappointed. Smiley
I'm a huuuge Nintendo fan. I would love to try to speedrun some n64 games sometime. Just gotta get the 'ol n64 out & hooked up. Wink
Much love for this community!
Hi, my name is Peter and I'm, so far, an American Korean.

I started racing on SRL about a month ago out of curiosity.

It was minesweeper, but it was fun so I started to run frequently.

I plan on racing mostly PC games and am just about to start a speedrun of Recettear. TTYGL!
Hi everybody! My name is Jeffrey. I knew about this community for a while but SGDQ '13 has convinced me to try my hand at casual speedrunning. I'm also really excited to know that AGDQ '14 will be hosted less than an hour away from me. I hope to attend and help support the cause.

What's up everyone?  My name is Josh and I've been into speed running for a couple years now.  Looking to have a good enough run to submit here at SDA.  So good luck to all SDA members on their runs!
Hi, everyone, name's Thomas, from Kentucky. I'm totally new to SDA. I hadn't even heard of it until this week. A buddy of mine showed me the SGDQ stream, and frankly I'm enamored with what I've seen so far. I love what you guys are doing and I want to make some contributions of my own. Definitely going to be keeping up with future events and hopefully attending. I'd love to meet some of you guys.

Hi guys, I'm Severyn. I speed run Pokemon Fire Red / Leaf Green and Final Fantasy IV currently and look to expand my horizons to other games in the near future. I live stream often on http://www.twitch.tv/severynx and watched as much of SGDQ as my busy schedule allowed! Love what you guys are doing and hope to someday be a part of it.

Wittyyyy: We do actually. Every now and again there are warm welcomes to all newbies ^^
Only it is hard to keep track with all those who join just after a marathon … ^^'

Welcome on board, everybody else ^^
Hello everybody,
