SPECIAL BEAM CANNON!
Hello there, i'm VenusGospel, been watching speedruns for nearly two years now, just decided to finally introduce myself here! If you want to know any personal-ish details then please view my profile. Also just starting running a few weeks ago properly, i'm running the Final Fantasy (mostly IX) games but i'm looking for a shorter game to run also!

I'm a nice dude and pretty chilled and outgoing. Peace.
Hello folks, I'm Kai but go by the nickname Ragnus_. I've been watching speedruns a lot this year and I've been just amazed by the community and events like AGDQ/SGDQ. I've always been sticking to a few games, MGS-Series and Dark Souls in this case, and watching speedruns for that time I've decided to give it a shot and it's been very satisfying so far even though I'm still just learning the MGS games, because I've been only above average when I was still playing them "casually", and working on my mechanics to someday start running them properly.

I'm amazed by the skill and dedication of the runners which has inspired me to strive to be as dedicated not just towards the game(s) also the community.
Good manners go far
Hey there, my real name is Lawson, but my nickname is NiceGuy. I recently started watching speedruns at the end of last year. All the events and the community are really great and I am excited to be apart of it. I plan on running some games that I had trouble with as a kid and some favorites, such as Jak II, Crash Bandicoot 1 and Ratchet & Clank 2.

I'm a nice guy, and I always have an ear to listen, so if you ever need to let out some steam just say the word.
Hi there, im Kris. I only found out about Speedrunning last year and it never dawned on me till recently that i should try to speedrun myself as theres a large number of games i can finish in a short time as well as a large number of obscure games that are often looked over. Im looking at streaming soon because I'd like to share these games with people who may have missed them and see where i can go from there!
<3
I'm Red, yeah Red, like the color. But sometimes i get called Crimz, and also sometimes RedCrimz. Well i'm a 16 year old from Finland, and i enjoy watching speedruns, so i thought that i might as well try it myself. I'm thinking about speedrunning Trine 2. And i'll see where i'm heading from there. Cheers Smiley .
Hello, My name is Scornful711, which is shortened from its original name because of character limits on XBL names, but I'm use to being called Scorn.  I've come to join these forums after seeing what a good community this is from watching the Marathons.  I'm focusing on Speed running Ratchet: Deadlocked but am thinking of opening up to some other games in the future when i can get at least sub 2:25:00 on Deadlocked, which my current PB is 2:48:25.
Hey all,
My name is Metal Pat, I have always been interested in speed running and never realized how big the community was until AGDQ2013. Really looking forward to getting more indepth into these things, and anyone in the Upstate new york area, feel free to talk to me Smiley
I am 23 and in a masters program right now for mental health counseling for therapy, and I hope i am able to spend some time to start speed running along with all my work and LoL time.
I don't think there's enough charact
Hey there. My IGN is Itsmarill, and I have a problem. I first found a TAS of Super Mario 64 where it beats the game in 5 minutes, and was introduced by AGDQ soon after. I lurked for the longest time, and for the past 4 months, I decided to take up speedrunning. I've known SDA for a long time as well, but again. Lurked.
I'm putting a lot of time into Super Meat Boy at the moment, and I'm considering branching out to other games.

I am now saving money to go to SGDQ next year, and I'm looking forward to at least meet everyone there. I probably don't matter, because Speedrunning has boomed, and there are a lot of people coming and going now, but I think I'm going to stay, and all I ask if, please. Keep going. Keep going until I pass. I want to see SDA/SRL become a thing for even my children. Not history.

Thanks for reading all of this if you did.
Caw!
Hi, name's Nicholas. Handle - nyttyn. I live n the east coast of America, long time speed-running watcher, first time speed-runner. Leaf Green runner guy on SGDQ2013 said to join if anyone was interested...well, why the hell not? The AGDQs look fun, speedrunning in general blows my mind, and some of those races look pretty fun.

So yeah, that's my blurb.

uh, and I guess I like anime and touhous?

Cawlord out.
I am Sacrifices, my name originally began when I was practicing for a Super Mario World speedrun (No major skips, like Star world.) back in 2007 (I don't have the video of the speedrun anymore.). My friend made a joke on how I always dumped Yoshi down a pit. "You must be a Mayan, you keep sacrificing Yoshi!" We had a good chuckle, and went back to the practice.

My main goal is to speedrun almost all games without breaking them, like in LoZ how you can enter dungeons early. Currently I am practicing for a Pokémon Emerald speedrun (Mudkip only, Glitchless, Evolveless, and Bikeless). I am gaining ideas from other speedrunners, like Werster. At the time I post this, I do not have any speedruns posted on SDA or Youtube, but I will in the future.

My interests are music, speedruns, anime, manga, and Yu-Gi-Oh! (The cards, not the anime.).
I'm Max, Pokemon, Mario, Sonic, and Zelda junkie. Chiptune artist, composition major at a large University in the Southern United States. Currently preparing for some unusual runs of Pokemon Blue as well as some Mario, Sonic, and Zelda GBA games. Used to beat Pokemon Crystal version in one day, from New Bark Town to the showdown with Red atop Mt. Silver. May ever try those sorts of runs again someday.

Proud owner of a Gameboy Light, Gamecube with Gameboy Player, 2 Gameboy Micros, a GBA SP AGS 101, a frontlight modded Japanese clear-shelled Gameboy Color, and 2 backlight modded original Dot Matrix Gameboys (Bricks).

All mods done by me Cheesy all runs (and streams) will probably also be done by me.

OrangePledge: 2013-07-29 04:05:18 pm
I'm OrangePledge (yes like the cleaning stuff) and I play pretty much everything. My favorite games to play/speedrun are currently SADX and Jak and Daxter. I'm a highschool student from Pennsylvania and I've been playing games forever. I like anime, manga, speedruns, music and of course video games. I'm trying to get a capture card so I can stream jak and daxter or SADX.

My goals are to do an all stories run for SADX and get sub 1:40 for Jak and Daxter
Hey all! I'm from the TSG community and YouTube mostly, but as I recently started practicing speedruns of KH1FM HD on the PS3, I figured I'd join up here and see if there'll be some discussion about it both currently and in the future when it comes out in English. I'm also interested in trying out some other games. Should be a fun time here!
Hey guys, I'm InfinitysCross (Real name Dan), and I never really thought of myself as someone who'd consider speedrunning until recently. I'm in love with the Borderlands series, being an avid editor on the Borderlands wiki, and want to get into Borderlands 2 speedrunning. I believe in the "Follow your dreams" movement that led me to where I am now, so I also want to believe that someday I may make it to AGDQ/SGDQ, and then further. Outside of Speedrunning knowledge of Borderlands, I know quite a bit of the game, its lore and its universe, so any questions are fine with me. I hope to be around to do this!
Hello, I'm Cubeface. I started speedrunning about a month ago, but did some races back in March. First game I started speedrunning was Super Meat Boy Any%, then I started learning a bit of Pokemon. That was in March. I then took a long break, and started back up in June. I learned System Shock 2, played it for about two weeks and got the World Record on Impossible mode from the previous WR holder M1_Account. He then took the record back about a week later. So I'm in a decent bit of competition with him.

I then started learning Dishonored, Doom, and Hotline Miami. I learned them all fairly quickly; Dishonored is unfortunately not as fun as I hoped it would be (too many cutscenes), but Doom and Hotline Miami are great games for speedrunning. I'm getting PB's in them every day, just like I was in System Shock 2. I recently decided to start learning some more popular Super Nintendo games, mainly Super Metroid and Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, both Any%. So now I'm working on running Hotline Miami and Doom while learning Super Metroid right now.

I'm enjoying speedrunning a great deal, my Twitch channel has grown a decent bit and I'm having fun recording my runs. Hope to become a helpful and friendly member of the community.
Hi Guys, been gaming since I was 5 and started with doom (HUGE ID FAN), I have been watching speed runs for the last year on and off, but in recent years I have become very jaded with gaming, and gave it away a fair few times, just last week my internet started playing up (50kb downloads -.-") and since then have discovered the Indie scene, in a week I have played over 20 tittles everything from my Favourite Lone Survivor to rogue legacy, The binding of Isaac and Dust an Elysian tail and more, great stories, great art and they bring me back to the good old days.

With this new enthusiasm I look forward to actively participating in the forums helping explore games that I am passionate about, even one day doing my own run.
Hello beautiful people! I'm Rob and I'm brand spankin' new to SDA. I've been wanting to get into speed running for a while, but I've never known where to start. This seems like a pretty great place to! I look forward to getting to know some of you, and any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
found out about the site and the community during agdq 2013 and been hooked since after sgdq finaly given in and want to start speed running pc games i hope i can do well and contribute to the community =D
Who needs sleep?
Hey folks!  Name's Brandon, but you can call me Xenon, Xeno, or whatever you like, really.  As long as I know it's directed at me, I'll probably respond! Smiley

I'm a 25 year old Computer Engineering major, comic nerd, and video game addict (though I use that term lightly).  Video games have always played a pretty major role in my life, and when I learned that speedrunning was a thing a few years back, I just had to try my hand at it.  I currently run Chrono Trigger Any% (poorly) but plan to move on to other games when I feel like I've nailed that down a little better.

I'd love to get more involved in this community, since I only recently started taking my runs seriously to any degree.  If you ever want to hang out and chat about games or comics or whatever, then hit me up on whatever connection medium you'd like!  I love to meet people!  Heck, that's a pretty tremendous percentage of why I'm here!

Anyhow, I'm awful at ending posts, so I guess I'll leave it at what I've said already.  It's wonderful to be here, and I look forward to talking with all of you in the future!
Hello everyone! I'm fairly new in the world of speed running, and there are quite a few games I'd like to run. Some games include: Link's Awakening, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga and Earthbound. Maybe I'll make a WR? Probably not, but I'm gonna stream those games for fun!
Hi, I'm going by the name of Blackmarsh! I've been hooked to this speed run community for a long time now but only as a lurker, after catching almost every run of SGDQ 2013 (Think I stayed up for 30 hours?) I will now venture into the world of speed running myself! Mainly I want to focus on snes and computer games but who knows, maybe some obscure nes titles?
Watching SGDQ '13 finally convinced me to join this place after watching for two years. Just seeing such a friendly community I think that it'd be a cool idea to start speedrunning myself. Haven't really decided what games I'd be interested in running, but I'll probably learn after spending some time here.
Glitchless, Run More
Hello all!

I am not really new to speed running as I have been watching for years now (forgot exactly when but well over 5 now) and I tend to bounce around twitch watching runs. I got into streaming about 2 years ago. Though I have mainly spent most of my time doing game challenges, drawing, and casual play throughs of games.

I got into speed running about a year ago when I didn't have anything else to do besides homework and stream and started with MMZ4 (my all time favorite Zero series game). I saw a TAS of the game and wondered if I could use those strats to beat the game faster and that is how I got into it. I tend to prefer Glitchless because my life now is a tad busy and I don't have enough time to really dedicate to the time it takes to learn a lot of the tricks many games require but I do want to run categories that use Glitches and cool Tricks.

Anyway nice to meet you guys!
Mario Kart Hype! (Kappa)
Hey there! My name is Olifré. Real name is Olivier Luyckx.
I'm from Belgium and I've been watching speedruns for such a long time now! Found out about AGDQ in 2012 and that motivated me to do speedruns of my own.
I'm a Mario Kart player and I'm specialized in Mario Kart Wii. I'm going to do attempts on beating the SDA record of mkwii. (:
Thanks for reading, and I'll see you guys around in the community! (:
JOOOOOOHHHH NNN!!!!
Sawp all, seems I'm joining the flood of new members with the same story of having watched and speedrun in secret for a long time and finally decided to join SDA Cheesy

Call me Terra, I'm a Game Programmer by trade, Game Designer by hobby, former g1 of the year on ScrewAttack.com and occasional YouTuber.

With any luck I plan to hold the WR in Silent Bomber any% in the future, since for some reason no one has ran the game even though it is PERFECT FOR SPEEDRUNNING Cheesy
