Hello, hello! I'm Glitchy, and seeing the runs on this site has inspired me to actually make an account and start routing and such for Blocks that Matter, hopefully I'll be able to start runs of that soon.
Hey folks, my name is Calvin, and I found out about this wonderful place a while ago, but only really gained interested after seeing the uploads of ADGQ 2013 on YouTube, so please bear with me if I'm slow to catch on to Runners and terms.
SotC TA Mode Speedrunner
Hello I'm shi_nobi. I saw a speedrun video of Zelda Ocarina of Time and was very pleased, as i have tried some glitches. I speedrun since last month. My two projects are Zelda OoT (Any%) on the N64 and Legend on the SNES.

Hi, I'm Nateman482 (nate, or, since there's already a nate here, nateman).

I've casually watch speedruns for a few years now, starting with Cosmo and OoT. About a month ago, I considered the possibility of starting to speedrun myself. I was told to chose a game you love and wouldn't mind putting hours and hours into, so I chose one of my favorite games - Metroid Fusion. It helps that it's a pretty popular game so I can get help from a lot of places.

I've never done a full run as I'm still learning the game. I'm really excited to get better at running and to learn other games as well.
Hi, I'm Moo. I remember seeing speedruns of all kinds of games when I was younger wondering just how the hell people did it. Cut forward to 2013 and I'm doing this sort of thing myself.

I'm currently running the game Penumbra: Black Plague, which I have the UWR (U meaning both untied and unofficial) of 17 minutes 46 seconds. I hope to do runs of more games for the PC and Playstation 2 when I can get hold of viable methods of playing games on either system.

Welcome my clone!
We have great hopes for you Smiley
Hey all,

I'm Mr G Almighty, please call me Mr G or just G

I've been around the speedrunning community on twitch for a little while now, I enjoy the company of a lot of different kinds of speedrunners and chats.

I've also tried my hand at designining banners, avatars, and stream layouts for some streamers and if you're interested send me a PM or here or on twitch (same name: Mr_G_Almighty).

I'd love to get into speedrunning and when I can find enough money to invest in a decent windows computer and capture card I'll start streaming and hopefully start speedrunning soon after

Thanks,
  - Mr G
Hey everyone. My name is John and I'm an internet ronin. Recently I've found myself on SRL and interested in speedrunning a few games, so I decided after watching a lot of AGDQ 2013 on Youtube, that I should make an account here on the Speed Demos Archive. I hope to find this community to be as friendly as the people over at SRL, and to have a nice fun time here.

Hello! My real name is Vladislav, more known as ClumsyDoomer or Avrelian (I had fake accounts on some sites, though, I really liked Avrelian and since then, I'm Avrelian everywhere). I registered here more than 2 years ago - all YOUR speedruns really impressed me, but I didn't make anything (I made one post here and disappeared for 2 years, went back few weeks ago). Now I'm going to make speed run of FEAR: Extraction Point and Penumbra: Requiem. I live in *cough* Russia, and I hope, you don't hate russians. :p As for my age, I wouldn't like to post it here... *cough.*
#Casual
Hello, SDA community!

My name is tjp7154, or "TJP" or "T-Jip" or "Tijip".  Although I'm not new to SDA, I felt like RE-introducing myself.  I first found speedrunning by watching the earliest Metroid Prime (Game Cube) speedruns on other sites and got excited and joined those communities.  When I had a little too much Metroid (haha), I settled down in SDA and am enjoying Donkey Kong Country, Super Mario Bros.: Lost Levels, among other classic Nintendo games which I speedrun on occasion.  One of these days I'll actually get another speedrun on the site.

I'm glad to be a member of this community through it's growth of games, it's marathons, it's excellent people that I've gotten the chance to meet in person and online, and it's impact to the speedrunning community.

I'm a #casual speedrunner now because of school and work, but I don't plan on going away any time soon...

Hello! I've spent some time bumming around SRL but figured I'd introduce myself here as well. Currently getting into shape to race Ninja Gaiden on the NES and possibly MMX1 at some point.

Welcome, hope to see you in the races soon! If you need some tips there is the Ninja Gaiden wiki which also has links to my video tutorial for running the game.

Aw dang, sorry I missed this post so long ago! I'm trying to get into racing shape but I'm still really awful. Also learning Doom. I'm going to try to start racing with you guys soon!
Hello. I recently listened to Werster describe routing out Pokemon and thought it sounded fun for some reason, and since I have nothing to do for the next 3 and a half+ months or so I'm going to attempt than attempt to route out FF3 NES glitchless. Dunno if anyone else is interested in that but I'm having fun reverse engineering all the game mechanics.
As green as a greenhorn can be
Hey guys, my name is Shima33, as you can all probably see, and as you can also seen, I'm a greenhorn. I've never spedrun a game before, don't know any strats - hell, I don't even know what game to start my running career with. I've been watching runs, however, since the back end of 2011 - I think that the first one I watched was a TAS of 70 stars. I have spedrun a game before, but it's nothing of importance - Do you really consider a time of 5:04 on Super Mario Bros. to be anything promising? I wouldn't.

I'm mainly a PC gamer, so I guess that most of my runs will be on PC. However, I do own other consoles, and my start in gaming came with a PS1 controller firmly in my hand and a demo of Gran Turismo 2 in front of my face - I was only 2 back then, and by the time I was 4, I was lugging my GBA with me everywhere I went, trying to "Catch 'em all!" on Pokemon Ruby. I eventually shifted over to the PC around 2003, and nobody's been able to pry me off since.

My equipment is:
Cyborg R.A.T. 3 - Most comfortable mouse, evar
Razer Goliathus - Best mouse mat I've ever used
Razer Arctosa - Planning to upgrade to a Razer Blackwidow 2013 Stealth
Technopro PS2 USB Controller - Absolute rubbish. Only had it 3 months - already disintegrating. Augh! >:C

So, yeah. If anyone has any ideas what games are good to run for a newb, message me or reply to this. I really need something (preferably 3D) to get me goin' in the Speedrunning world. I was thinking of either doing Resident Evil 4 (Improvements on the SDA run are pretty daumn easy, and I like the game a lot), or Super Mario 64 - 16 star. Either way, It's a pleasure to be here! Smiley
Dogi the wallcrusher
Hey I'm Dogi. I've watched SDA videos for many years but only really started lurking after the first AGDQ. Some of you might recognize me from your streams on twitch. I don't currently run anything but I have an interest in trying Majyuu-oh The Demon King and Spike McFang out. Maybe Valkyrie Profile A path SS too.
Learning Banjo-Kazooie
Hello there, my name is Carlos and I'm an 18 year old student from the Canary Islands, Spain.

I first got to know about speedrunning streams thanks to Siglemic's 120 WR being upvoted to the frontpage of Reddit last year. I also remember seeing some posts about GoronGuy's MM runs, but I didn't pay much attention. Then some weeks after AGDQ I stumbled upon VODs and I got really hooked.

I've always been an eSports fan, and the production of the marathon was great. Progressively I dropped watching SC2 and Dota 2 streams to only watch speedruns, as it suits me more: there's no competition so there's no real need for drama, and after all, the players just compete with theirselves, even though some can taste the success of getting a WR. I really liked the spirit of RTAs, so I've been looking to pickup a game for a few months, and I lastly decided that I'll learn Banjo-Kazooie and maybe Tooie/DK64 in the future. It's also the perfect excuse to set up a stream, something that I've wanted since I discovered Twitch.  I'm just an emulator scrub though, but I hope to upgrade to an actual setup in the future.

I might never upload a run here, as I don't think I'll ever get to top class skill, but I hope to find good speedrunning discussion around here.
Well Textured
Hello everyone! My name is Jesse_McAstroturf (also formerly known as DukeJesse), but call me Jesse for short. I've been watching speedrunning streams on Twitch.tv since December 2011. Most of the time I'm just a lurker, though occasionally I talk in streams that are receptive to my immensely odd sense of humor. I'm kind of an Internet vagabond though, so I sometimes disappear for months on end. Speedrunning streams have been a staple form of entertainment for me over the past year-and-a-half, and I'd like to thank everyone for streaming their many resets successes!

I don't currently have any interest in speedrunning myself, but as I'm beginning to get to know more people within the community, I felt the next logical step was to join the SDA forums. Sometime in the future I may develop an interest in running something - It'll likely be a really awful and obscure game though, because masochism is fun.

Now, excuse me while I go think of some more bizarre functions for Zoom Tubes to bring up in Feasel's stream the next time he plays Swords & Serpents. happy
Hi, I'm Scratch. I'm pretty new to speedrunning and everything, but I love the AGDQ streams. I'm 19 and in college for computer engineering - I love the technical aspect behind how a lot of the glitches work, namely memory corruption/exploitation. I'd love to be able to help explain them or maybe even find my own!
Learning to Stream
Figured I may as well give this a go for those who don't know of my storied past.

My name is Kelly and I'm apparently a certified nutter with a heart of Gold. ^^;

Also in the King of Kong: Fistful of Quarters for about 2 frames and seen in Ecstasy of Order: The Tetris Masters

And with some company for 7 years that dealt with games and stuff... but that's not important.
NSMB runer
Hi i'm Chachigo , i come from france and i make a speedrun on New Super Mario Bross on DS.
Hi i'm adde, i play A Link to the Past
Hey, I'm just a general gamer that decided to get into speedrunning! The first game I've started researching and practicing is Final Fantasy 7 since it is one of my all time favorites. But It's not like I'm looking to break any sorts of world records, but I just want to challenge myself and complete the game as fast as I possibly can. I'll try to document my progress on some of the places on these forums.

Hey, you there.
Hello everybody. My name is chris, but i've chosen the username Moddex. I've been a challenge runner/hardcore gamer as long as I can remember, spending endless hours taking on unreasonable challenges in some of my favorite video games. Back in february I stumbled upon AGDQ2013 videos and fell in love with the idea of speedrunning. Twas a perfect fit.

Since March/April 2013, I've looked at all sorts of SDA records and streams on SRL. Since then I've been racing Megaman X and Minesweeper on SRL, with the goal of streaming other games. I'm not sure how to get my stream on the page, having over 50 some odd races and still not making it onto SRL, so I focused more on offline practice.

Since my 2-3 months speedrunning spree, I've ran a new world record for Jet Set Radio HD (with lots of room for improvement) which is now on my twitch channel at /moddex9 (whoever wants to watch) and am excited to PB on it. Currently looking at the Star Wars Jedi Knight series, Katamari series, among other faves of mine. I have the eventual goal of finding more runners who enjoy the games I do and making it to future SDA marathons. Great to be here.

AndyManX: 2013-07-16 11:55:02 am
Sup guys? Name's AndyManX, or just Andy. Just joined the site today after watching a good portion of the AGDQ 2013 marathon. I run Castlevania games myself, and can hold one of the top 5 on the SotN leaderboards (/boast), though Romscout is still just faster than me. I also casually run Megaman games, 3, 5, and X6 being my favorites.

Hope to have fun and get some runs up here myself one day!

On the subject of SotN, I can't seem to find the thread for it. I had a few tricks that I wanted to share and discuss. Anyone know where the thread is?
