1- E2M5 When you're stuck in the cage, why it hits you 6 times and sometime 7? I can't survive to the next rocket jump when it hits me 7 times.

2- E3M2 I need help for the grenade jump to the blue key at the beginning, I get it 1/5 of the times and I don't know what I am doing right or wrong  Undecided

3- E4M1 Can someone give me some tips at the circle jump to the platform at the beginning? I never managed to do it, even one time... Cry

Well that's all for now, I'll surely post again if I need help. The most important is the number 2  Wink

Thanks
Thread title:
E2m5 - No idea, just hope that it hits you only 6 times. Smiley
E3m2 - The space between the trigger and the ceiling is not that big... just graze the trigger and the key disappears. 1/5 is good for that trick. With qdqstats, use impulse 211 to see where triggers are.
E4m1 - Sorry, I don't know how to do that either.
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
Did you try press jump key while going down in cage? When I did it, it hits me only 5 times.
13Homer, I think that you are talking about jumbing inside the cage to have enought breath cause when the cage is inside the water and I'm jumping, it only hits me 5 times too but when you're stuck in the door of the cage, it always hit you a minimum of 6 times even if you jump. We were not talking about the same thing  Undecided

NahkahiiR , I had absolutly no idea where the trigger were, now I try to go as close as possible of the ceiling and I can already do it more often. I just did 19 seconds 3 times on this level  Cheesy

And I found a nice trick on E4M1, you jump in the tube, you go straight, you do a ramp jump then you shoot on the explosive barrel and it will pushs you on the gold key. I did 34 seconds with this trick, people do 19 seconds with the circle jump so I'll try to practice it more  Angry

About what you say for e4m1, this was actually used in some runs before the tunnel falling trick thing was discovered! And it is still useful in some situations... I think. I certainly remember recording a demo in which Nahkahiir was doing that jump. For some reason.
I thought that I found something new but everything have already been find in Quake  Undecided Anyway, this trick is far more easier than the tunnel falling trick, you can almost do it everytime but I'm not looking for easy stuff, do you have any tips for the tunnel trick? Or I am gonna spend some hours with a dragonforce CD trying to master it  Grin

The tunnel fall is all about momentum. You have to constantly move your mouse in order to generate extra speed as you spin around in the tunnel, then when you're out of it, you need to be facing in the right direction so you land on the platform. It's very, very difficult. I'd suggest making it slightly easier at first to train yourself. On e4m1, genocide to get rid of all the stupid monsters, then use 'sv_gravity 100' to practice it with e1m8 settings. You'll have a lot more time to generate the speed so you should be able to do it then. Next try raising the gravity to 200, 300 etc. until you reach the default of 800. If you can do it then, well done. Smiley
Hey Ho Let's Go
As for e4m1, the trick is to do it more or less as lag.com suggests, though he forgot to mention the fact that you need to let go of the forward button while maneuvering in air. You get much better air control if you use the strafe buttons only.

DragonForce, yay! ;-)
Mumma
Also please note on e4m1: there's no jumping involved at this point. Only falling.

I like to walk over the ledge a little bit to the left. Then, once you start falling, strafe right and move right in a smooth motion.

Just keep practicing the start until you get it. I still have the demo from when i succeeded the first time. Attached! You can see how surprised I was Smiley

Stubgaard, I know that I have to let go the forward button but thanks anyway  (Dragonforce ftw  Wink )

I'm going to practice it right now with your tips, thanks  Grin

Well it didn't take me long time to do it for the first time, 5 minutes  Cheesy But I did 21 seconds for the level, that suck :/
Wtf. I watched Mandel's demo, tried thrice and got a 19.96! Thanks Mandel!  8)
I'm still surprised.  Shocked
Don't think!  feeeeeal
what I think helps is trying to stay as close to walls of the tube as possible without touching them, if you fall out on the right side you really need all the space in the tube for the turn.  Then just turn smoothly, maybe using +left could help.
