Has anyone ever played the games Homeworld, Homeworld: Cataclysm, or Homeworld 2? I think they'd be great to speed run, due to the many ways you can beat the missions, and how quickly you can do some. Especially HW:C, due to it's Time Compression (from 1/4 to 8x RL speedup, but the ingame timer is affected just as much). HW2 may not be as well, as several missions are 'Survive until X:00'. Also, due to the 'Salvage Corvette' ship, which allows you to steal enemy ships, you can avoid the downtime of building almost completely in Homeworld, making it even faster.

So, anyone up to the challenge? I know that many people would love to see the runs.

welcome to the machine
I had the first three missions of cataclysm done, but then my harddrive crashed.

Times were 9:05, 11:15, and 11:32 for the first 3 missions, in order.

This won't be restarted for ages, so don't get your hopes up.  And if anyone is thinking of running these games and hasn't had an online multiplayer career, I have one word for you: don't.  Finishing the campaign a couple times is not half of the experience you will need to run one of these games.
Homeworld has this thing with carrying over ships from the previous mission, so I'm not sure if Radix would agree to that even if it was possible.

I would, however, be interested in watching The Bridge of Sighs, the one level with 150 Taiidani Ion Cannon Frigates guarding the hyperspace inhibitor

The thing with carrying over ships just means you can't suicide everything to end the level.  That, and you can't have individual level runs anymore; it's the entire game or bust. :/

that's what segmented runs are for!

By 'individual level runs', I meant similar the Starcraft level tables, where each level is completely independent of all others.

You also can't do individual level runs because of research and that Homeworld slightly changes each level depending on what you have, adding or removing enemy ships. To add to the fun, it would strain the amounts of cash you can take in, limiting it to whatever you take during the mission, instead of waiting around at the end. I'd record it myself, if I had any means of doing so.  :-/
