its the suggestion forum so I will make a suggestion (I didn't saw any close to it, I don't want to repeat something :/ )

I will try to do it in the bestenglsih I can since people don't like my spelling Smiley

I think it could be nice to have a part of the forum to help people trow a game, like he would post is problem, the topic would need to be the game name + system. He explain where and about what he have difficulty so other people could help im. It's sure that there is other place to find help like gamefaq, gamespot or other that I don't know but I think people here are enought good at a lots of game that it could be a good thing to have. Everyone have is game that he is good at it and other that he suck at it  Smiley

I hope I didn't made to amny mistake there  :-[

Well, it was still quite hard to read, but it's getting better Smiley

Help forum. I dunno. This is a speedrunning site, not just general gaming. As you said:

Like A Fox
I remember Radix saying somewhere before he doesn't want this turning into gameFAQ's.
No the Quail is not riding the Q

You mean writing a walkthrough on speedrunning a particular game? I've been thinking about this for along time now...that kind of thing will take time though.
He's back!
If you read Sam Ganon's OoT speed guide you'll notice that many bits are wrong, but were correct based on knowledge at the tme. This is why its a bad idea. Its like when someone said that speedruns would be helpful as walkthroughs. Not at all, imagine a novice gamer trying to attempt everything in the course of a sub-3 OoT run. It would drive them to the point where they would consider many parts of the guide lies or badly worded. How would you know what your writing is the fastest or best way to do a certain section. The guide would have to include videos of crucial tricks.

Would this make sence to a novice

"In Gerudo Valley grab the chicken and walk onto the edge of one of the stakes on the bridge. Jump off the stake at an angle and jumpslash over the fence. Now run past the guard and head directly into Gerudo Fortress."

It would drive anyone insane after reading that and trying for 3 hours.

I think it should just be speedrun help if anything.
If a help thread for a game is needed..runners of that game could make one... Having another board is pretty much out of the question.

To me, this is more like something of the case of a guy who needs glasses walking into a restaurant. You think it might be the proper place to go, but it isn't.

Directing anyone who asks anything here to gamefaqs.com is good enough, as long as they don't ask in the forums, 'cause if they just need help with a game, it's pretty much the best place to be. Besides, who would ask something like "how do I beat the forest temple in oot" here? Anyone who knows anything about games and has internet connection should know gamefaqs.com by now, beacause this is a somewhat obscure site compared to it.

The only help that should be given and welcome here should be speedrunning help, since this is a speedrunning site.

welcome to the machine
Why would anybody write a speedrun guide when we have videos?

If they want text info, they can read the discussions on the forums or talk to the runner about routes for the specific questions he/she wants answered.  No need for a redundant text guide, since it would either be out of date or simply copy the video, while the forums can at least show the process that made the run (which is often as valuable as the run itself for archiving collected knowledge).

As for game help, there's other places, and ones where the answer won't be 'skip that temple entirely, it's worthless.'

The current method works well. The current method being- someone occasionally asks a question in the speedrun topic ("sorry to go off topic, but..."), then someone answers it, and we go on with our lives.
Gamefaqs also answers those little questions people have.
