Hehe, I've done all of that stuff actually. I don't think you'll believe that I did all that like 2 days ago. All but the satchel boost back up to the beginning area. That was cool. As for the rest, yeah, I've done 'em, including getting to the bottom of Surface Tension! Haha, take that! Tongue (<_<)

You got down exactly the same way I did though. I'm not kidding, EXACTLY how I did. It was like watching myself get to the bottom Grin

You have something going on with satchels in that area though, I haven't ever thought of using them a lot more then I already have. I should look into that Smiley

EDIT: Oh, and I'm a filthy liar, you got to the bottom of Surface Tension before I did, I made a bad joke :P. Damn you, circle, damn you.
XXY
Ok, I haven't done the border world yet, I've gotten caught up on other levels Tongue

For instance, I've just done Questionable Ethics, and I found a few new tricks to pull off as well:

Yay!
I didn't explore all too much when I got out of the level I'm afraid. Oh well, you'll get the gist of it. Where I got to though, there seems to be less gravity or something. I can jump farther and faster, and if I go into a skybox, I can swim so fast, it's not even funny. It's weird actually. Anyways, you'll see some interesting things in that collection. Just needs v.1.1.1.0

I'm working on Surface Tension now. It may take awhile, considering I have 4 demos so far, and I haven't even hit the dam (which is where the real fun begins). After that, I don't know what level I'll do. Maybe the border world, or the Lambda Core? It's uncertain, I seem to just randomly choose a level. Ah well, enjoy.

Alright, I'm working on Surface Tension now. I've found quite a few new things while "tricking out" as it were. For one, I got one of those electrics dogs to get on top of the level. Don't ask me how..... I found some random marines outside of the level. The area I was just at (the area with the two tanks) I found something incredibly weird. I mortor hopped up a wall, and landed on top of the level. I have no other way to explain it..... I landed on top of this enormous invisible skybox or something. All I know is, is that it's new, and it's cool Tongue

I just entered the area with the hornet alien, the alien slave, and the snipers. I'm already at like 40 demos, and I still have a long way to go...... This'll be a pretty big collection when it's finished.

But I can't finish it right now for one crucial reason: my Half-Life fucked up again. Everytime I load a game, or the console, it says I need "cached.wad"

Could someone send me that file via e-mail so I can just put it in my Half-Life directory? I would VERY much appreciate it, because I know that's the problem. The file just isn't there @_@;

some jumps and satchel boosts in the conveyor belt area, just some fun things:

http://www.dasoberlicht.de/conv_fun.zip (HL 1.1.1.0 + HL Bunny)

not that they're useful Cheesy
XXY
When I extracted them and tried to play them back, they wouldn't work Sad

I will make them work and watch those demos, as I'm a fan of damage boosting Grin

Speaking of that, I've just finished my Surface Tension collection. I ended up with 76 demos....... I'm gonna go back and redo a couple because they're horrible, but yeah, 76 demos. I found a bunch of new tricks too ^_^;

I'll finish the collection up then upload them somewhere. Of course it'll have to be in like 3 seperate folders o_O;

I imagine you'll have to have pizza and a drink close-by if you're going to make it through that collection Tongue

Tehe, thanks Dale.

I'm gonna wrap up the collection tonight after I'm done supper. It's unfortunate, because in the past hour I've found like 10 new tricks to do. But I don't really want to include them in the collection. I may include them in the video I'll make later, but they aren't really anything.

But since I'm done with Surface Tension, I'm gonna start on my "tripmine" and "satchel" oddity videos. I want to do this because I just found something amazing to do that I believe no one has ever done before. Not to mention that the entire collection will be cool Tongue

I don't know when that'll be done..... probably not for awhile. But yeah, I'm gonna finish up Surface Tension and upload like, 3 .zip files of demos and post 'em here tonight Grin

Sorry, double post, but it's worthy! I'm working on the Surface Tension collection as we speak, just need to organize demos and such. I got caught up finishing the collection because I was playing around in Black Mesa Inbound. I fell out of the train at all these insane places, and let me tell you, WEIRD things happen when you jump out of that train and use your imagination. WEIRD!! Here's a list of things I found:

- As soon as BMI starts, I got down to those fork lift things. The guy who pilots them is weird...... Half his vehicle doesn't exist either. Jumping out near the pop machines wasn't really that exciting, they're just pop machines. But anyways, when I got down to the fork lift guys, there's a black void in the wall, and that black pit there? You can fall down there and land on the bottom alive. I guess I'm the first to do that Tongue
- I hopped out near Barney, and if you "use" him and walk him away, the flashlight stays there and floats in mid-air.
- The area after Barney is where more interesting things happen. As soon as you enter that area, if you look down and to the left, you'll see another train on a lower track. I got down there fast enough and the train goes through a black void....... You can also land on the bottom of that pit alive
- The area after that with the box that gets in your way, and the machine fixing the thingy, I just got out there and there really isn't anything special to it. You can see an oddity inside the train though. If you look at the table, the box goes through it slightly. Tehee.
- The area after that is where the fun begins. I tried to get on top of the huge nuke, but you can't jump on top of it.... Poo. Well anyways, the train keeps on going, and eventually it just stops. It doesn't trigger a load, it just stops on the track. From there, you can trigger the load screen on the ground, and it's just stuck there frozen. Then you make your way down that cliff (very easy) and continue to the helicopter.
- The helicopter is trippy as hell. It doesn't exist. You can run right through it..... weird stuff. The scientist and Barney don't do anything, they just kinda stand there. I haven't tested out what happens if the train goes through there and if they start moving. Oh well, the helicopter doesn't exist....
- The huge blast door after the helicopter is the weirdest. After it's closed and you're on the other side, you can jump into it and parts of it open again. Lmao, weird.
- The blast door after that, if you get to it fast enough, you can stand underneath those opening thingies. One will land on you, and it'll close back up again. The train goes right through it like a ghost. Then there's nothing special about those generators, seeing as how you can't get up to the them. There's just a scientist and a floor.
- After that area and the train passes infront of you, I haven't hopped out in a useful manner yet. I've only landed on the bottom of that pit, which is actually just a floor instead of a weird black void. It'll be hard to search that area fast enough, considering the train passes through a load zone on the other side of the blast door.
- The huge spider robot thingy actually doesn't exist (the one near the G-man). You can walk right through him and everything. The goo he "walks into" doesn't exist either. In fact, he doesn't even walk into it. As soon as the train turns the corner, he disappears completely. Then you can jump near the G-man and land on the bottom of that pit. That's about it.

So yeah, some weird things happen on the outside of that train ._.;

Anyways, I'm gonna go round up that collection now and edit this post with the links.

EDIT: Just uploaded the demo files. They all require v.1.1.1.0 to view, no HL Bunny used. I'm sorry if some of them drag on, or a couple of them are duds, there was a lot to sort Tongue  I hosted on filefront unfortunately. If you want me to get a better host, I will.

ST1
ST2
ST3

Enjoy the demos. Once again, v.1.1.1.0 of Half-Life. I think it ended up at around something like 60 or some odd demos, because I cropped a bunch of my shitty ones out. Even so, there was a lot of demos, so I split them into 3 .zip files. It's a lot easier on all of us, believe me. Once again, enjoy. Time to get to work on those trip mines Roll Eyes
I love YaBB 1G - SP1!
These demos aren't too big are they?

Cause I have a chunk of space/bandwidth just itching to be used (3gb and 60gb respectively) every month, if you want some hosting, let me know poCari (even if I can't watch the demos, damn you anti-steam version O_O)

well, pocari, please try again with my demos.... when i download them and put them into my halflife bunny directory, they work.

anyone else having problems with them?

Lmao, thanks Booga. The .zip files I have right there, the first one "ST1" is 3.75mb, "ST2" is 7.82mb and finally, "ST3" is 3.46mb. I'd like to get some avi's going soon of some of my tricks, which would probably be a better usage of your diskspace. But if you'd like to host my demos, that'd be cool :P.

And tron, I just watched your demos. There was nothing wrong with them, I'm just an idiot ;D.

Nice tricks. Some of which I've done, a few I haven't. You have a good idea going on in that area though. I should start satchel boosting around that area to see where I can get to. I haven't really focused on anything like that just yet, I'm more of the "unseen frontiers" kinda guy.

Speaking of that, I'm gonna start on my trip mine collection soon, and pick a random level to trick on. Maybe Power Up or something. I think many of you will freak (well, those of you who have v.1.1.1.0 <_<) from what I've found so far.

I've actually been playing Power Up alot a week ago, it's a pretty cool level because it's one of the few levels that the speed-runs never cover because you skip it by jumping over the "wall". It's a nice map...

I got 1.1.1.0, so I'll be waiting for those tricks  Wink
(gonna watch the Surface Tension demos now...)
XXY
I used to play it a lot myself awhile ago. I speed runned the entire level without going over the blockade, and I came out to like, 2:20 or something. Fun stuff. But anyways, I've finished my Power Up collection. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to do all the tricks I wanted, such as getting an electric dog stuck in the wall, a marine behind the fence, freezing the robot, riding the robot on the train...... I did get some stuff done though:

http://files.filefront.com/Powerzip/;4526226;;/fileinfo.html

I'd say it's pretty entertaining. I think it's demo "Power21" that will make you guys go nuts. Enjoy.

I also hope you enjoy my Surface Tension stuff, Dale :P.

I did!  Grin

I've visited some of those places myself when jumping around in Surface Tension (mostly at the map where the "armour room" is located and the helicopter). But I've never been walking on a helicopter, that's for sure!  Wink

But I liked the Power Up demos more: more tricking and strange stuff, some cool things indeed!

How did you manage to keep the barrels "unexploded" at the 2 aliens ? The explosion is bound to the "second alien" right? (The alien that is standing furthest away from you)
How did you make the barrels not explode?

Surface Tension was a lot of fun to do. I was going to include me getting on top of the other helicopters, but I didn't really feel like it. The helicopter I got onto by the helipad is the funnest thing to do. I actually have never gotten onto it like that with a tau boost, I was actually just using the sky before. Oh well, the tau works just as well. I thought you might have enjoyed me getting that electric dog on top of the level, and the floating fish Tongue

I enjoyed the Power Up demos myself, because some of that stuff I just thought up on the fly ;D.

The barrels not exploding is a tough trick to do. You have to inch around that corner and immediately shoot the barrels with the magnum. You survive if you do it correctly. And if you manage to do that, at the off time a few barrels will stay. I'll record a demo of me doing the entire trick in a bit so you can better understand it ;).

EDIT: Here we are, quick demo I just did. Lmao, first try too:

http://s23.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=26QOMG37QT5IM1VKENADNX4EE9

Hosted it on "yousendit," I think it's slightly easier. That should tell you what to do.

EDIT2: I've gotten to work on my Lambda Core collection. Now that I know how to have fun with tripmines and satchels, I've found a few interesting tricks so far Grin

This is gonna be an interesting collection.

I have think's run on my computer. It's too legendary to delete. Besides, it got me playing/speedrunning Half-Life, so why would I ever delete it? Grin

Anyways, I've been working on the Lambda Core, and I've found some very interesting things so far. I've managed to freeze the entire teleportation labs, stop the G-man from entering that portal, weird stuff..... I'm trying to uncover a MAJOR glitch in the last area of Lambda Core. I've managed to block the door leading to the huge teleporter, I just need to know how to abuse it from there. My idea is to let the scientist die, and when everything is done exploding, go back into that huge teleporter room alive. Now wouldn't that be impressive ;)?

Also, for the past while, I've been working on getting to the bottom of Xen. Which is essentially walking underneath that huge floating island alive. I just started my Border World collection, and I've accomplished just that. Hehehehehe ;D. I've also accomplished getting underneath Gonarch's Lair. I got underneath that huge hole before, but not under the first area. I've also accomplished that as well. I do believe that's the bottom of nearly every pit or possible level in the game. I just need to get underneath the second part of Interloper and my bottom collection is finished ;D.

Anyways, I don't know when my Border World collection will be done. Not for awhile, because there's a lot of things to do in the border world o_O;

EDIT: WOOT! I got on top of all three towers. I moved into the second area, and found a few things I've never done before. For one thing: making the level disappear completely. I got a demo of it by accident. I walked on top of the level and the level disappeared completely. The second thing was finding a secret room on top of the level. I found a secret room in Residue Processing, a couple in Questionable Ethics, so I guess these rooms are all over the game. This one I found on top of the level, and it helped me with my next new trick. It's actually a room, you can shine your flashlight and see the textures, instead of it being just a black void. Cool stuff. But anyways, from there I dropped like 15 snarkeys to get to the bottom of the level, then I found a place to fall that gets me to the VERY bottom of the level. Before I was just slightly underneath the huge hole, but this time I got all the way underneath it. It's difficult knowing where to fall, and if you screw up you smack the kill trigger >_<;

Just one more pit to go and my bottom collection is complete Grin

-think.circle-, where are you? Huh?

Anyways, I'm finished trying to stay inside the teleportation room. I managed to stay in there once for a few seconds more than usual, but then the screen jutted out again. Oh well. I just need to add a few more tricks to the collection and I can upload it.

Also, I revisited tricking in the border world, and I found a handful of new tricks to do. The one I believe to be the most exciting: the bottom of Xen. I was working on doing this for the longest time and never figured out how to do it. I finally have :P. I'm just gonna search through Nihilanth to see if there's anything exciting in there to do that I missed. Ugh, I'm gonna hate teleporting around like a jackass in there.

And lastly, I finished my bottom collection indefinately, because I found a new area to get to the bottom of, then conquered it. You know the area with the red teleport thingy? I got to the bottom of that area ;D. It's funny, because I had to do it with 15 health. So yeah, my collection is complete, yay! That's about it really o.o;

I'll be coming back with something moderately exciting in the coming weeks.
