What is this "Personal Text" you speak of?  Hmm!?
Having a bit of an issue with the Half Life 2 video speed run.  It will play about half way through, then the visuals will freeze, but the sound will continue.  If I click anywhere on the scroll bar, to skip ahead, audio then stops and I continue to get no visuals.

Now, before you ask, I have XviD, DivX, tried this in updated Windows Media Player and in Winamp.  Also tried re-downloading the zip file, but I got the exact same issue.

So, any suggestions for me?

MGS for PS1 forever.
You probably need more ram. I have 512 in my computer. Grin

I have 768 MB of Ram.  I don't think that is my problem.

You could always try the ffdshow decoder. It replaces the divx and xvid decoders in mplayer and has a nice amount of settings you can fiddle with if you like. Without complaining, it has played everything I have thrown at it for the last couple of years.

Download the latest alpha from http://ffdshow.sourceforge.net/tikiwiki/tiki-view_articles.php

And heh, I don't see how the RAM amount has anything to do with this  Cheesy

Just downloaded/installed that ffdshow program, but sadly it had no effect on the video.  Perhaps there are some settings I should tweak?  I must admit, I'm a bit ignorant when it comes to different video settings/formats, and all that nonsense.  Thanks for help so far.

I have these problems as well.

at 1:00:50 it freezes. Does it on my laptop, does it on my other computer. No matter what video codecs I use.

the interesting thing: it never happened to me with any other video file, but both the low- and the high-quality version of the second hl2-run freeze. Shocked
So, it might be a sound problem after all.

The weird thing is: it only fails on Media Player Classic, while Windows Media Player works fine Shocked

I tend to use media player 6.4 for everything. You probably have this program installed, try start->run and type mplayer2 and then OK

mplayer2 and ffdshow make a powerful pair!

Same with Tub, this is the only file on SDA that is giving me this problem.  Just tried the mplayer2 thing, but again at 1:00:50 the video feed stops.

Am I doing something wrong with ffdshow?  Are there some settings I need to change?  Why do the almighty Half Life 2 gods hate me?

No, nothing special...

Are you sure it's being used though? While playing a video, right click on it and choose properties. On the advanced tab, take a look at the used filters list. If it lists ffdshow MPEG 4 decoder, and not DivX, then the installation is successful. Otherwise you'll have to configure ffdshow somehow to replace the divx decoder, I bet it's obvious from the configuration program how that shall be done.

If that still doesn't help I don't know what possibly could be wrong... You'll have to borrow another computer and watch the run on that  Grin

The codec says its ffdshow MPEG-4, not DivX.  Really odd that its having this problem...

So, any other suggestions?  I suppose I could try other quality versions or something...but who knows.
