Hi all, this is Craig from UK gaming events company Revival Retro Events. Some dedicated retro gamers and show-goers here may know of us already, but for those who don't, we have been creating dedicated retro video gaming events for the past 2 years here and assisting other gaming community members with their events. We've just had a change as one of our main organisers has departed due to work commitments, and so we are looking at new ideas for attractions at upcoming events. I've taken an interest in the whole speedrunning scene and am amazed by the commitment that goes into achieving the amazing times I've viewed on uploaded videos. I think it's a feat that deserves a public stage outside of the private meets and would be very well received by visitors at our REVIVAL events. I've come here to check for interest among UK and European speed runners who may be interested in getting together to create some sort of showcase at upcoming events? I apologise if this is the wrong forum thread or right way to approach it but I cannot find a direct contact to speak to about this, so figured it would be best to reach out to you directly.
Our next event is 'Revival Mini 2015', which will be held over the weekend of 28/29 November at Brookfields Liesure Centre, Wolverhampton. If all goes well we intend to return with another of our larger events in June next year, also in Wolverhampton at Dunstall Racecourse. If anyone can point me in the right direction or may want to contact me directly, you can message me here, on the Facebook page, or shoot me an email to turnarcades@hotmail.co.uk.
