hi all, this is my 1st post on SDA forum and this is my 1st speed run attempt of Godfather Don's edition for the PS3 console as well my 1st game speed running. I aimed at an any% run where:
- I finish the main missions/story mode.
- take control of all stores, rackets, warehouses, hubs & compounds
- complete all hit list contracts
- destroy all 5 rival mobs

here is the 1st part video of the speed run on YT:

I got a completion time of 13hrs 42mins 31secs based on the in game time played which can be seen here:

I hope this is considered a speed run and with more practicing/playing/experimenting I'll do more speed runs of Godfather with different stats completion in the future.
Thread title:
Hey there, welcome!

Just as a hint, (at least on the PC version) you can just buy out the first racket inside the butcher shop, which would be far faster than beating everyone up. There's also no need to blow up safes - if you're not including that in your totals.

Also, this wouldn't be an 'any%' run. any% indicates that you are just trying to get to an end screen, and ignoring everything else. If you are actually taking over all the rackets and so on, that would be something else. Maybe Don of NYC%? (I'm pretty sure what you described is the requirement for Don of NYC - unless they changed that in the Don's Edition)

thanks for the comment Softman25.
The reason why I  beat up the two guards because I needed exp, weapons & save money in beginning so I can level up quicker to make the run easier. Also I blew up the safe so I could level up as well earn cash quickly in the start so later on you won't see me blowing up safes anymore. Then again I'm not 100% sure if it is faster or slower in the long run.

The reason I wrote any% is because there are other tedious tasks like collectibles (film reels, safehouses), blowing up safes, doing favors & destroying drug joints. So I'm not sure what to call it. I don't know much about the PC. I know they added favors and extra missions in Godfather Don's edition which weren't in the original Godfather for PS2. I was aiming for Don of NYC but didn't realize other missions like the favors which I have not much knowledge about them must be completed. Hopefully when I get time I'll do more speed runs.

Again thanks for the comment really helpful.
