Hi guys,

so I just wanted to know if it's required to race against people to "stay alive" on speedrunslive? Cauze I just wanted to show myself on the front page whenever I feel like speedrunning so that people who are interersted in speedruns can find my channel easier than via Twitch.
Thread title:
From the SRL FAQ:
Quote:
What am I allowed to stream on the front page of SpeedRunsLive?

These things are considered speedrunning-related:
speedruns
practice
routing
races
TAS work
discussion about speedrunning
challenge playthroughs of games you speedrun or intend to speedrun
See: http://www.speedrunslive.com/faq/#whatcanistream

So it looks like racing is not mandatory.
I tried to stream for myself and did not appear on their page, I asked one of the responsible people and they told me you would need to race regularly: https://twitter.com/Ekelbatzen/status/694004950985236480

I am not on SRL but if I have heard and read correctly from the site and others, you must have a certain amount of hours logged in races before you may appear on the front page. After that, I think you can do other speedrun related streams and be up there but you have to race to get up there in the first place. I could be wrong though.
Again, check here: http://www.speedrunslive.com/faq/#howfrontpage

How do I get my stream to appear on the front page of SpeedRunsLive?

Type .setstream twitch/name to link your stream to SRL, if you have not done so already. Your stream will appear on the Streams page of the site after 1 hour of racing. You may not appear immediately, as our system checks at specific times throughout the day.
You will need to visit the website while logged in once per month to stay on. Alternatively you can join the #speedrunslive channel on IRC while identified at least once a month.
SPEEDruns not SAFEruns
Prior to a new set of rules you were required to participate in a set amount of races to get on their front page, and had to do races to maintain that status. That is no longer the case.

Since when? Does this obsolete me asking blechy in february?
SPEEDruns not SAFEruns
I don't remember when they changed the rules, it was possibly 2014? Early 2015? I know in 2012/2013 you had to do a minimum of 25 races.

Source: FAQ on the site. Those rules have been around since I believe 2015 and have been in effect since then. As for before that, I guess you don't have to worry about that anymore.
