Talk to the Hand
As odd as it sounds (Or not, given I've actually run it on New Game +), I'm actually looking forward the most to the Zelda II one.

At this point, to crack 1 hour, I'm thinking you'll not only need to skip the candle (Yes, it's a candle in AoL, not a Lantern)--hard enough as it is--but maybe even use the TAS route (No, not the one which breaks the game to beat it in 6 minutes...I'm thinking of the Japanese version run), and make getting the Hammer and Fairy your first priority.

Sadly, I'm not overly familiar with how the run would be done starting from a new file.
enough of the planning. Just Do It.

lol, that reminded me of when i went to an airport for the first  time, when i was in florida. I saw a TSA there and i was like WTF... lol....

Wow, pretty fast moment from having no plans to do MQ to... having plans. Of course, don't ask me when those comments were written...
Im on the internet!
In my opinion, Id rather see better minish cap and ww (and of course tp when its out) runs, than the cdi, majoras mask, or GBC ones.

But Ill take what I can get, I really enjoy the zelda runs.  I makes me sad everytime someone runs one of their childhood favorites rather than mainstream AAA games.  Always love the metroid/zelda/mario ones the most : )

There needs to be brought to light major improvements in The Wind Waker before I'd ever re-consider doing it again.

The Minish Cap I will spend time testing stuff out, like getting the scrolls to have better attacks.  Plus I know a few smaller tricks...but as of now...I don't know how to improve it drastically.

Good luck man, if you get all of those on schedule I will proclame you the Zelda master.
Ben Goldberg
Too late, he could retire today and still be the Zelda Master.

You're still serious about coming out of retirement if your OoT run is ever threatened right?
Retired
I never said that.  I'd actually be happy if somebody just made a run close to 5 hours and put it online...I've never seen anyone else play Ocarina of Time except for 1 battle by Fierce.

Other than having to go to the bathroom, I think the worst thing that can happen in a speed run is your right eye drying up, or your head starts to itch. God damnit, that happened in my Half-Life run.

TSA went to the bathroom during his OoT. When he screws up learning one of the warp songs a couple times... he's in the bathroom.

Is there a movie or something on it?

I'm pretty sure that the DX version takes longer because you can't skip a lot of the dialogue.

On a tangent issue, do you think SDA will ever accept runs that are more about tricks than speed?  While I understand, and encourage, legitimate speedruns, watching people bork the game with its own programming loopholes is so fun to watch!  I'm quite certain that Link's Awakening, for example, could have a lot of fun with the screen-transition-hop trick, or the Death Mountain Descent from Link to the Past.

On another tangent note, I actually took the time to die 999 times in the original Link's Awakening, only to be sad that the counter stops.  No roll-over to 0, no funny hex numbers, just stops Sad
It's not the Tricks Demo Archive.

What if it's one demo of all games featuring all tricks?

Single-segment of course.

I'd be much, much closer to speed-running OoT if I had a controller that wasn't screwed by Super Smash Bros. and the patience to learn Haunted Wasteland without the Lens.  How long did that take you?

15 minutes.
