Hello,
If you'd like to add a commentary track to your speedrun, you may want to consider using the ogm or mkv container for saving your files. While not as widely supported as .avi, making a .mkv which has several audio tracks to one video stream is easy as pie. This is just a file format, it is not a codec, and does not require any extra work except for merging the movie (avi or otherwise) and alternate audio track.
I noticed this when downloading the OoT speed run that the author would've liked to do a commentary but didn't want two version of the file. With mkv/ogm, you can do this all in one convenient file.
If there's enough interest (or someone does not find a good guide for it), I can write up a miniature guide on how to accomplish this, if you like.
If this is the wrong forum for this, then I apologize.
