I know how much of a pain bosses are... While Zephy in FE6 is fairly weak... his room is NOT. *shudder* Powerful Druids, Mamkutes, and powerful reinforcements are NOT fun... plus add Bishops who like using Psychic staffs... UGH. Plus, using anything but an Armorslayer makes Murdock *ch. 21* a demon to kill. X_x;

Anyways, still a great job. ^_^
"Wait... what???"
How about a Ike solo run??? Sounds easy, but how about Ike soloing on HARD MODE!!! ya slightly harder, lol.

There is a phase when Ike maxes out (around level 5-6) and you start to run out of weapons/vulnerarys which SUCKS until level 9 and then levels 9-17pt4 just slowly getting harder. and then its a piece of cake because of 20 levels of bonus experience Wink

I will totally do this run if it is infact okay,

PS: I am almost done with a trial (non run, just a normal Ike Hard Solo when I have that time I will post again.
My feelings on The Demon Rush
No.
Everybody loves Hypnotoad!
OK, how 'bout a 100% run? You have to get all recruits, not let any character die, and beat the Black Knight for the somewhat better ending.
My feelings on The Demon Rush
That sounds fine. Is recruiting really the only thing you can do for an 100% run? No sidequests or anything?
I would consider collecting all optional items (houses, chests, etc.) to be part of a 100% run.
May the way of the Hero lead to the Triforce
All optional *stationary* objects. I would shrink from saying that it's necessary to steal enemy weapons where possible, though. Otherwise we'll get arguments over whether a run was 100% if the runner gets a killer axe over a killer bow, or steals a weapon that has fewer uses.

It's debatable whether it should be necessary to steal all non-weapon objects. . . I would say no though.

Although this does bring up a point: Is it necessary to obtain all the items from the desert chapter? If it's decided it is, we may need to take up a collection for the search for the runner's sanity. . .

There are no sidequests in FE8 and FE9. As for all items, etc... GOOD LUCK. 0_o;;;;;;;;;; it's hard enough in a NORMAL playthrough.

100% could be considered all characters, no deaths, beat Black Knight... aside from that I don't know. I'm looking to get a GBPlayer, so I could do a FE6 100% run.
My feelings on The Demon Rush
After talking to Molotov, I have come up with a definition of 100%.

Recruit all possible characters.

Yep, that's it. Defeating the black knight is optional because you have the same amount of characters regardless.

Also, collect all items and chests?!?!?! Should a Mario 100% run break all of the blocks?

Yes, that is what I meant. There are also some objects that can be gotten between chapters by talking to the right people and items like the ashera staff (don't kill any monks in 'Solo') or the knight ring you can get from naesala. I think these should be gotten too.

About the desert, I don't think it would be too hard to get the items. There are guides with locations / areas where all stuff can be found.

I don't see the problem here. There are not many of them and a 'new' player naturally tries to get all chests / houses (which is not that hard anyway but probably requires some interesting strategies to get it done fast).

A run that only requires all recruits and no deaths is not different enough from a normal run to be interesting IMO.
It changes the strategies on a lot of maps as you have to guide a child to recruit Devdan or one of your laguz way off into nowhere to recruit Stefan. It changes the strategy of every map on which there is a character to recruit.

I also assume that "recruit all characters" suggests that all characters must survive the game. That's probably not too big of a problem, but it's something to keep in mind.

If I am not mistaken the strategies would be different in the following maps:

chapter 08
Get Ilyana. Doesn't sound like a big problem if you power build Ike before the segment. Titania camps like in the hard mode run.

chapter 10
Talk to Nephenee and Brom. Not sure whether this works without being seen.

chapter 11
Talk to Zihark with a laguz. It should be no problem to fight your way to Zihark while Marcia finishes the map like in the hard mode run.

chapter 12
Hardly a difference. Just don't kill the enemies too fast so Jill appears.

chapter 14
Get Makalov with Marcia. Probably means that someone else finishes off the boss.

chapter 15
Get Stefan. It takes ages to walk to him so you can get as well some items Wink

chapter 16
Talk to Devdan with a child. Probably not much different from the hard mode strategy.

chapter 18
Get Shinon. Judging from the hard mode run this shouldn't be too much of a problem. You might have to deal with reinforcements though.

chapter 23
Just talk to Haar with Jill. Basically no difference to the hard mode strategy.

I might have missed something but if that is all a whopping 9 fights out of 33(?) would change - if you want to count the jill and haar maps as changes at all - and only a few of them would change drastically.

Another option for a 100% definition would be to get max. bonus exp in all chapters but that might be too hardcore Wink

You can airdrop Lethe to recruit Stefan. I'm 99% sure I did this on my run.

Second, of course you have to keep everyone alive. Why? Because this is a speedrun and there is absolutely NO way that letting someone die will save time (aside from Shinon who must unfortunately be saved thanks to Rule #1). I refuse to believe it.

You guys can talk about this all you want, but two things. For one, Mike already said what the definition of 100% is and it's entirely lacking in this arbitrary crap. I support that. Moreover...good luck finding some idiot who would do this run. Really. You'll need it.

Shinon would be the HARDEST to get. Get Rolf up, talk to him, and then get Ike to take Shinon out. sounds fun. X_x; *shudders*

As for Black Knight... *shrugs* It'd be awesome to see a killing black knight run, but that's almost impossible though, so... *smirks* Nope.

Off topic... jsut got Goddess of the Dawn. Freaking awesome... <3 Micaiah...
DJGrenola was so right in his september 13th news...
May the way of the Hero lead to the Triforce
My remark about the desert was because of the fact that only the thieves can get items with 100% success. Thus, obtaining all the items would either take a great number of turns, which a speedrun has no room for, or would involve tremendous luck abuse, which is basically random in this game.

I have to say, I don't agree with Mike and Molotov's definition, but if nothing else I can accept it as not being arbitrary.
