What?
FinnRuns² is a speedrunning marathon hosted by Finnish speedrunners and gaming enthusiasts. In
May 2014, the first FinnRuns marathon was held because there are plenty of Finnish speedrunners,
but no one knows who they are or where they are, if they even exist. The first marathon had it's
fair share of power outages, lame 90's Finnish songs, plenty of good old Finglish and great
speedruns. Now, we're at the planning stages of the second FinnRuns marathon and it's time to
start taking in your submissions and to tell you some info about the upcoming event.

When? Where?
The first marathon was an online marathon being mainly hosted from Kuopio, Finland. But in March
2015 (20.-22.3.2015), FinnRuns² will be an onsite marathon and will be held in Kuopio, Finland in cooperation with Kuopio Game
Expo, a gaming-related convention with gaming tournaments, panels held by video game
enthusiasts, and a video game music concert to top it all off with Kuopio Game Expo being the main event and FinnRuns² being side event. FinnRuns² will take place at Kulttuuriareena 44, a youth center in the center of Kuopio. The event can be watched at www.twitch.tv/finnruns where you can also find all the runs from the first event highlighted.

How do I sign up and submit my game(s)?
Well, first of all you must check one thing: Are you Finnish?
If so, you're welcome to submit your game(s).
If not, sorry but at this point, we are sticking to Finnish runners exclusively.
There are so many awesome Finnish runners that just don't get the attention they deserve, so
we're putting those people in the spotlight. It's also important that you speedrun a game. You
don't need to be the world record holder in your game, just make sure you can finish the run you
submit.

If you are interested in joining us at the venue to socialize with the runners and watch the runs onsite, you can. The FinnRuns² venue can be accessed free of charge and you are free to use the mass housing located in the venue. You will have to bring your own mattress etc.

Submissions are open up until end of January 2015 or if there will be flood of submission, then submitting will be closed earlier.

Please note that the marathon will be in mainly Finnish with some English sprinkled in there somewhere

Well it's not much but I can at least say for sure I'll be at the event. I don't run any games though Smiley

I can talk about all the awesome runs I've seen over the past years for 4 hours though.

Somebody pick up Thief 2 REEAALLY quick and I'll commentate your run for you!

Awesome! Thief 2 is not on the list atm, but I think there was someone who mentioned that he can play it (not sure though). I'll let you know if someone runs it :3

I think I also wanted to ask this (maybe others are wondering too): this says the Finnruns will be starting on the Friday 20th but the event itself starts on the Saturday. So I guess the Friday is setup day? I don't think I can make it until the Saturday anyway but if one was to be able to be there on Friday would this be desirable?

FinnRuns actually starts before KGE, so no: Friday is when FinnRuns starts and Saturday is when KGE starts properly.
