Quick question, has anyone been running this game recently and found any glitches. for the love of me i cant get the door clipping glitch to work and cant find any useful glitches like duplicating things.
Hey guys, I'm looking to run the English version of the game. Does anyone happen to have any information for the English run? Everything I'm finding is in Japanese or refers to Japanese timing methods. The closest thing I've found is Essentia's C4L run, actually.
Alright then, cool. I sent you a message on Twitch regarding notes btw, Neviutz. But if anyone has notes they're willing to share, that'd be cool. I'm fine with starting my own route/notes, but having a base to start from would be nice.
For those who are interested, I've posted my run notes that I used for C4L, with a few small changes. I based my route mostly on Neviutz's WR run, but I changed the setup for Bhunivelze to make it more consistent (for me, anyway). http://pastebin.com/8bnkT759
Nice basic notes, and a good run. Now that I've got my hands on an English version, I'll be streaming and making video guides and notes on the route tomorrow after work barring im@s arriving at my door
I use the ingame save time at the end of the game. It is more accurate than console on -> final boss screen since you dont have an arbitrary end point (exactly WHEN on the boss screen do u stop? What if your a few frames off?) and your ps3 bootup time / getting into the game isnt involved. If I recall, Neviutz's final save time was 2:31:16. I dont think below about 2:20:00 is possible without some kind of new glitch.
The order I complete the 5 main quests is the same as Neviutz. I sleep at inns/use my days a bit differently though. Also you can save about 11 seconds by fighting the fanatics at the start instead of trailing them.
What's the timing for RTA in this game, btw? Start when you select New Game is obvious, but what about at the end? Eternal Sonata, for example, stops when you make the final game save. EDIT: For English timing, anyway.
So I thought of a strat for the Cactair section of the run. Currently I see the route as being this, so please correct me if it's incorrect.
Quote:
After Fang, Cactuar to God's Wrath and go into the Ruins. Navigate Ruins as normal. Collect Collector's Catalog and Crux after Turtle. After second mural, TP to Ruffian and sleep to 5 and grab third tablet in north.
Day 6 TP to Ruffian > Cactuar to Dry Floodlands Mauve gets Magnet if got as a drop. Cactair gets Magnet > 2x Overclocked Magnets TP to Ruffian and sell Moogle Doll and sleep to 6
After I finished up in the Ruins, I ended up with 7 EP. So I figured instead of wasting time in Day 5 by sleeping to 5, why not Cactuar to Dry Floodlands to do the Cactair on Day 5, Cactuar over to Ruffian and sell the Doll, sleep to 5, and get the third tablet? This also lets us fight Grendel instead of Parandus, which as far as I can tell is the same boss except 100k HP less.
So are you saying to use the IGT and not use an RTA timing? 'cause my run last night had an IGT that was 2 minutes longer than my RTA. Which shouldn't even be logically possible.
Gotcha. I'm pretty sure I just demonstrated why the IGT is all wonky last night. Anyway, that just makes proper RTA timing more important, do you know when English RTA officially stops the timer?
'cause it seems like Squeenix can't into proper timers(at least on PS3). First my IGT was 2 minutes slower than my RTA and last night it was 2 minutes faster. Additionally, Rinimt's told me she's had the same problem with FFX-2 HD.
The in game timer in 13 counts any time in the main menu, and doesn't generally restart when you quit to the menu.
I once left my ps3 on at the main menu overnight after a speed run. Started a new game, and opened the game menu after the first warmech fights. Game timer displayed 23 hours and some minutes.
I assume the in game timer is equally worthless in FF13-2-2. But I'll defer to Nev's judgment.
Also you can save about 11 seconds by fighting the fanatics at the start instead of trailing them.
Corpse, how are you managing this? 'cause every time I try it, it's about 30~ seconds slower than Metal Gear Lightning. Is there a way to get only one cultist when you attack the leader?
Nah, You have to fight 3 no matter what. The part I hate the most is actually managing to strike the leader instead of another one.
You just wanna double stagger each enemy, put ur fighters emblem on your schemata that has the higher strength weapon. Once a fanatic is in its second stagger, you should do attack/thunder combos without using any finishers. Also let them deprotect you so they attack you 3 times in a row when they get close instead of 2. Block all 3 to boost their stagger.
You should be able to perfect time every hit too to speed things up.
