I'd check on it, but I am pretty sure the reason for not accepting tapes anymore was that they wouldnt transfer them anymore. If you do that it should be ok. Check in tech support though, cause a secondary motive might be that DVD recording tends to give better quality.

PS: And yes get of our Internet, Holy Wars are ingame items.

I think tapes won't be accept anymore, because nates equipment won't get younger^^ and he doesn't won't to buy new stuff for tapes. something like this was a reason a think.

He'll accept it if it's on DVD or a raw video recording from your capture card.

I am moving at the moment and I am pretty sure I am going to have a PS2 around in the new place, so I think I might actually get my hands on a FF8 for the PSX and run it on the PS2. Potentially.

So I have started doing some more tests on the PC version (with launcher to make it work) and I have come up with something.

In the menu is the option 'battle speed' , I have always set this to fastest, but I don't really notice any difference, does anyone know what exactly it changes?

I was also considering turn based or life, turn based sounds safer and faster, but I might be understanding the effect wrong.

@Darkwasabi: Is there any chance you have some times @ different places?

In general: this would be the PAL version. How does that compare with NTSC load time and play time wise? I remember Garland saying something about it.

Ive only got 2 Megalixers and 2 Hero stones, then after 2 Hell's Judgement's i only have Mega-potions to work with and I don't think im going to have time to get med-data.

I PAUSED MY SPEED RUN TO...Think of somthing cool like doing BOSS speed runs. how fast can you beat Tonberry my record 00:2:57. Starting in Centra ruins at second level waiting for the last Tonberry and fighting Tonberry king.
Tonberry king is dead at 00:02:52. Battle victory at 00:02:57. Woot Woot im going to have a cookie so maybe speed demos could have a somthing like BOSS speed runs now that would like make me want to make cookies. YEAH>XD

I actually assumed he was talking about practice. SDA certainly won't accept videos on boss fights only.

Only if there is a boss-mode or something (fight bosses with a timer) ..but no FF had ever such a mode.
