Hey guys! What a cool marathon! I know that plenty of us had a great time on site, and I hope that viewers have enjoyed it just as much. Feel free to spread the love for the people at the marathon!

I'll make an edit to this thread laters when I've actually written everything I want to say! Thanks for the good times y'all!

#1: Whoever hosted the Shaq Fu tournament, thank you for that!
#2: Tech-crew: Brilliant, this was actually my priority #1, that the production value would beat every other marathon that has been. I still think we did, not gonna lie. Smiley The guys working with this needs more cred then they were given, for sure! I know nothing about tech but I know running two streams at this quality is truly an amazing undertaking and they preformed brilliantly. Kudos to everyone who worked their asses of to make the marathon onsite a success! Ofc. Alot of mistakes was made but overall, it was great. Trying out new stuff like the cube animations etc. was great before runs!

The cake is a lie
My last donation says it all, so let's copypasta it :

ESA was my first IRL marathon lived from the inside. And the only thing I can say is that ESA is 10/10 would do again. Loved to meet all the people who I was chatting with for a year on IRC, everybody here was awesome. Big hugs to Bangerra, Suzy, Alko, Exe, Meridian, Tirean, Frozer, and indeed the frenchies ! I hope the speedrunning community will live long and prosper, and to be part of it as long as possible, since it's one of the nicest I've been able to see so far.
I want to give a shoutout to everyone! Especially the tech crew.
I had a great time and will hopefully return next year!
Also Tompa is even nicer IRL. All the HYPE to red blanket guy <3
Was a wonderful event like last year, actually had some days off for a change though, so I did not have to travel back and forth from/to the event.

And it was just a great time, so wonderful to meet this amazing group of people. so many faces recognized from last year, and such wonderful new people.

Shoutouts to Team Ludendi and #gta.
Shout outs to the cleaners for making the toilets usable again after they were devastated by drunk europeans
I'd give a shoutout to the tech crew for actually having to deal with me most of the time. Getting experience takes a little time, but now I'm at least prepared for next year!
The Duce
I hope my shoutout wont take 9 months to post this time. Still I got to work on it
Im just gonna have a shoutout to the techcrew and all the runners

and a special shoutout to Fuzzy for being a standup guy!

I want to thank absolutely everyone so much for being so awesome and making this so amazing for me. Everyone was lovely, happy to be here and so helpful.

Edenal, Grukk and Oasiz: thank you so much for putting up with my shit, listening, and being so nice and considerate. I couldn't have asked to have felt more welcomed and appreciated and you we all fantastic.
Niss3 and Kripp : again, you guys are so nice, so helpful and so considerate. Especially when it's someone likely me asking incessant silly questions, you guys never broke your smilies and made this trip very memorable. Thank you.
Flicky: cheers for sharing stories, giving me advice and generally being a good bloke and making sure I didn't look like  tourist. Also for not waking me up.
Svenne & Joka : thanks for always giving me support and always being people I could turn to for advice. The help was so appreciated.
Ontwoplanks : cheers for being such a classic mate from the get go. Felt like I was talking to one of my good friends at home the entire time.
Tompa & Alko so warm, such good senses of humour and so talented. Amazing people, and always so good to everyone.
Drastnikov for putting up with my shit in the hotel, and being the awesome guy that you are.

Heinki you're a fucking cool dude. Simple as that!
#GTA I am just going to collective you all, since there were so many of you here. Each of you is fucking awesome, and thanks for letting me hang out and share the fun that is the community.
CursedDolls you made this a lot of fun, especially actively asking if I want to be involved with non gaming things. That means a lot to me, that you want my company, and it made it so good. Also, even more dancing next time.

This year ESA was my first marathon/meetup I attended to. At first I was scared to end up alone because I'm shy and didn't really know anyone there, but I met so many wonderful and friendly people there, I'll definitely try to go to ESA2015

Now time for shoutouts and love:

All staff/tech guys (and gals): without you all this event wouldn't even be possible. Thx for putting so much of your time into organizing or long tech shift

Curseddolls: You were the first person I saw at the event, you welcomed me and show me around the mass housing and everything. You're an awesome girl and I had great time with you. (I still want to know how much you wanted me to tip for that wonderful bracelet, and stop making fun of my accent :P:p )

#gta people (Adam, AMVX, da00, eidgod, Etholon, Fatzke, J4sp3rr, Joshimuz & Kitty, Lightnat0r, Menno, Nord, Oasiz, Omega, S, Shanz, Tdawg, Tirean, Tyr, Zoton and Zwajken): I only knew a few of you from twitch chat or SRL IRC, but you welcomed me as one of your own and made me feel part of the group, I'm grateful for that. it was awesome to see so many "GTA-junkies" in the same place

the austrians I went out with on saturday night (winkl0r, IcedPingu, Christina, Reindl?, Teifi? and maybe another but I was drinking and I'm bad with names :p ): it was really nice to hang out with you that evening, we had some nice talks.
(note to the blonde guy that killed my balloon: "I hate you, you killed my balloon Smiley " )

Other people I had a drink with (Neviutz, Rozer, Meridian, Bangerra, Suzy, Anna, Ontwoplanks, LeFrozer and everyone else ... )
Nobody ever drink alcohol at the lake or any public place, that's illegal !

Wakecold and Elgu: you both are great personon, watching you practice/running Half-Life 2 was awesome

Pipe: Because he's awesome and proves to the world that Twitch admins are real people too.

Exe: it was nice talking to you, I hope you'll find time and people to make another german restream

Cereth: who accepted to be on couch if the incentive of my Final Fantasy III run was met (spoilers: it didn't Sad )

Joka: for letting me borrow his Famicom to practice my game

Everyone that watch one of my practice runs or my bonus stream run and give me feedback.

San Marino (aka the pizza place): we all know why ...

Twitch Chat: for being readable and even enjoyable at times

Shoutouts to all the new friends i made: Thiefbug, Elo, Jinny, Curseddolls, Meridian, Flicky, Mlstrm, Fuzzy, Heinki, Andi, Ennopp and ah whatever ALL OF YOU! I will miss everyone so bad, how can i go on living now without seeing you everyday?
When I first thought about attending ESA I was not quite sure what to expect. All I hoped for was to be able to run my two GTA games, show off my ability in those and hopefully get some other people to pick up those games because of my runs. But ESA ended up being so much more. I am very glad I decided to attend because in hindsight I would not have wanted to miss it for anything.

The Speedrunning community and especially the GTA community are a group of wonderful people and I am glad I had the chance to meet so many of you. Getting to know people on a personal level that you otherwise only knew from the internet is a unique experience every time. I had lots of encounters I did not expect but that I will cherish for a while.

To bring this to an end I want to thank all the organizers and everyone who helped making ESA a possibility very much. Especially those people who originally started ESA with its outstanding commitment to fun and the community. Without you a lot of other people would have not been able to experience these extremely fun twelve days that lie behind us and I hope that everyone who put work into making this possible realizes that it was definitely worth it.

Keep on saxing everyone.
Infinite Combo
Shoutouts in the following week will be posted.

$15 per rant/allegory
As the first event as kind of organiser, I have to say ESA was a slightly different experience for me but the sheer amount of time I got to spend with people was still fantastic. Whether it was spamming Blazblue for hours, silly games of Melee, going to the lake or popping out for a quiet drink, I always had something amazing to do. I haven't been to any event that had as many cool things going on at all times as ESA 2014 did. I have access to the master list of all attendees so I'm going to list out a whole load of people with a little message, but first:

Blazblue crew - my PSN ID is flickyfij, I bought Kokonoe and I'm ready to go. Still not learning combos or follow ups to that super. Still ready to SORESORESORE everyone. If you live near me, come play!

Fixing Speedrunning Conversation Group - That was a lot of fun. It was great to hear some real opinions on things in a place where no one was worried about being punished or yelled at or anything.

Alright then:

We've said it a thousand times but as a "staff" guy, I was so happy with how everyone was at ESA. Didn't hear or see any real drama or anything even close. People hung out and chilled out and, really nicely, respected the staff guys. Thanks a million for that.

Now, as flicky the person:

Airrider - So I only just realised that you were you. I had no idea I'd met "Airrider" until this year. Derp.
Ajarmar - Great posture. Being our example Swede at the fast food meal was great =D
Alko - The great Alko once again. Will see you soon! I'm never going to China House again.
AMVX - Hell of a guy. Nice to meet someone with a hilarious story for every one of mine. A real stand-up bloke and a riot to be around.
Ariwa - The most powerful of the Finnish accents.
Baal - Nice guy, nice Golden Sun, nice not listening to me tell you to throw out your bottle, nice Azrael. Let me know when the pain of that Star Control 2 defeat fades.
Badbrakes - Hilarious dude, hilarious drunk. Thanks for Marlon's discount thanks for scary grabbing.
Bangerra/Suzy - Don't need to write anything to you guys. Besties 5 life.
Burnzen - Great to see you again from Gamesfest! Will send you that picture and see you in Berlin?!
Cerberus - Great Ape Escape 3 run, loads of guys in chat want to pick it up! Let me know where you are and try and get to a UK meetup!
Cereth - Another Noel graduate - hope to see you at a UK meetup sometime soon!
Charleon - Thanks for the games, I wish I'd tried your hitbox in hindsight but whatever.
Chrism - Great to hang out with you again, you need to get over to England man!
Chrno - Shadow Tower next year. Will be seeing you soon as well.
Chucat - Thanks for all the tournaments, sorry I never managed to buy your ticket or food. Will see you too!
coolkid - once again, snuck off without saying good bye. I hope you enjoyed this one a little more.
CpKaka - King of snaps.
cruxit - Congrats of the weight loss and that. I enjoy hanging out with you more and more each time.
curseddolls - like above, good work on the weight loss, hope to see even more improvement next year. T-shirts and bracelets looked great too!
d4RwoN - Nice to see you again =D Longer next time though.
da00 - Promised me a beer then ducked out. What a monster. (=D)
DALFEN - Had a blast hanging out with you this year. Didn't really see you much last year so it was great to get to know you this time around. Thanks for all the melee and all of that cool stuff =D Let me know how Touch-Move Roy goes.
Dizzyprime - Again, UK scene + Blazblue needs to happen.
Dragonfangs - Thanks for constantly beating me with Bullet. Thanks for the stick too =D
dxtr - So pretty much as soon as I got my glasses back, someone broke them. Maybe you should've kept them.
Edenal - Another of the best. Borky bork, borkty bork bork Eder-nerl.
Eidgod - Practice drinking and hope to see you again soon.
Elgu - Not even mad at your poker luck. Another cool finn.
EnNopp112 - I hope to see you at Dreamhack or something! Nice to have a chat every so often.
eTholon - Surprised there wasn't a PC game you could've run when I asked. =D
exe - Nice to meet you =D Next time we'll just speak German!
Fatzke - Maybe best German? German fight? You guys should fight. We should drink together again. Come to England too.
Flippy_o - Forgot who you were, thought you were German, damn. I'm no good at this. (another fun guy =D)
Fuzzy - We'll get on that meetup thing. Do you have any venues for smash we could use if houses don't work out?
Beatrix - 95% less creepy, dickish and socially inept than I expected. Keep crushing those games. Hoping Bayo 2 is awesome and we can route a game together for once.
Goost - Sorry for calling you goose for so long. Hope to see you at NLG! I'll probably have intestinal trouble by then.
GoronGuy - You went full GDQ hide in a hotel this year. Was nice to see you the few other times.
Greenalink - Great to see you again (it had been 19 months =O) Hope you can make it out to a meetup or two!
Grokken - Where did you go? Suddenly couldn't see you around anymore =D.
Grukk - Great to see you again too =D

Will edit this with more later.
