Perfect the last E4M3 in 3:51.92062 by Thomas Stubgaard ?
Humanly yes... but perhaps it is possible to kill a find with a grenade-jump (and so a telefrag). With some save-games it can be realize and a telefrag is faster than the 3 grenades required... but I will never be able to make that.
It is just an idea.

Oh yes, we had this discussion several years ago, didn't we?  I remember now.  :-)

Here is how you do, you walk right under the fiends spawn place, then you throw 1 or 2 grenades in the air upwards and when the fiend spawns he lands on the grenades as they explode, he will directly be hit by thoose 2 grenades then you just throw the last grenade and he is dead.

Thus you kill the fiend 1 sec faster at every spawn and gain 8 seconds.

You are right, telefraging is not the solution. The other fiend does not spawn.

i geuss this is becuase the fiend doesn't see you when you telefrag it? Then you could do it on the last fiend probably?

Orbs : No, the last fiend you kill with a couple of previously placed quad grens that explode while you're already half way to the exit.

Robert : True, but only 3 fiends are killed with 3 grens, all the rest are done with quad. You wouldn't want to be sttod under the fiend throwing quadded grens in the air when he teleports in... :-)

Goddamn cool run :o, but it is not optimum....
1) every fiend kill could indeed be a bit faster, overall saving at least 1 second.
2) when opening goldkey-door player should open the exit door, too, thus saving another fraction  Smiley
3) is it possible to change a root and do one more fiendkill with quad Huh? (I simply dunno)

I just wanted to post exactly what Valeriy wrote as 2. point. True.

Point 2.  Heehee. Yeah, Good point.

Point 3.  5 Quads. Quad last 30 seconds. New fiend appears every 30 seconds. I don't think there's any way to get more than 5 quad kills. :-(

Orbs : The 30 second countdown is triggered on the previous fiends death. Except when you telefrag it as soon as it spawns. If you quad gren it as soon as it appears in mid-air the counter still starts.

So okay. Maybe you CAN kill the fiends a little quicker by laying several grens on the ground before he spawns and hitting him in mid-air.  Got a good discussion going, though.

Right. Who's going to do the demo, then???  ;-)

I just thought of something:

does fiends spawn in the open place in the ceiling above the  e4m3-junction-area, right?(1)

isn't there a small ledge where you can stand?(2)

can't you place the grenades on there?

(1) @ work can't check
(2) remember this was a camping place from back in the days when there still was some multiplayer going on (to kill the nmiflagcarrier coming out of the teleporter)

Hmm i geuss it's not realy useable, grenades hardly stay on the ledge, and are a bit to far away from the spawning point

If only there was a lightning gun on this map it'd be much easier to tricker the Fiend sequence. If you have no clue how to do it or what I'm talking about, go check my e4m3 NH demo on the Windlash page.
