Oh boy.

I haven't look at the demos in a while.  BUT BUT BUT!!  I thought of a little ending which may or may not be possible but would be great to perfrom.

This is only possible if that slime secret has the greande launcher.  I think that is only DM though.  Well actually it might be possible without.

In that secret area can you look up above it and shoot open the Secret DOOR at the end to the mega.  Go through the tele porter, drop and your right by that water for a quick ending.  I dont know about timing or anything.  I g2g!!

Great idea. It very, VERY nearly works... but not quite. ;-)

You can indeed shoot the secret from the slime below. BUT there's a secondary door in front of the secret as you approach from the water side. This door only opens (allowing you through to the exit area) if you've already visited the exit room. The trigger is right at the top of the ramp that leads up to the exit/secret room.

So you'd have had to run all the way to the exit the long way before you could go back and do it the short way. Nice thought though.

Oh god.  Why is there a stinking reset button by the post button.  I erased my msg.  Basically it was:

Oh crap.  I noticed that trying to beat the old record.  The cool part is that you wouldnt have needed to push all 3 of the buttons if this did work.  I could have had  my first ID record (dreamy)... Oh well. 

I have a question about the slime-->yellow armor trick.  The one where the guy (forgot name sry) in e1m1_054 prematurally enters the yellow armor secret without going up the center like I have to do.  I am useing cl_upspeed 999 and +moveup....  Am i just failing on perfect timing or is there a SPECIAL trick i'm missing.

The thing about that trick is that you need to have a very LOW framerate in order for it to work. In these days of consistantly high framerates that trick becomes more and more unlikely to be repeated.

Even with a low framerate it doesn't work very often, at least not for me. :-)

after seeing mandel's ER of 22 seconds i reckon it could be beaten. not by me though  Grin

when he blasts the bomb for that huge boost it's understandable he presses the button to get a little more of, but it looks he got slowed instead. it's a debate between runners if it's wise to leap across the bridge space. 'spose it's upto the ace bhopper to do so.

anyway, instead of shooting the bomb in the back-RJ fashion maybe one could shoot it in the strafe-RJ fashion then preserve that boost with the said bunny above. that extra 30 p/s could do wonders.

it might not shave off that 1.99330 but it's worth a try!
