Do you need a DS Lite or DS Lite board to try to research it?  I've got a torn apart system lying around I could send out if it would help you with research.  The system itself would work...if put back together (as the system worked before I started tearing it apart for fun).

At least a DS Lite board, but a whole DS Lite would become handy, since I could test it afterwards.
And even though, I don't know how the inside of my DS Phat looks like, and I'm not sure I have to reprogram the software for use with a DS Lite system (that's why I don't give support in making one, if I knew how to do that, I could even start a building service).

My device is build in America, it was sold to Germany, this process repeated once again, and then I brought that one.
But if I get enough money for a second 3DS (I pre-ordered one already), I could find out the pins for the 3DS, instead of a DS Lite.
Or maybe someone could donate a 3DS? I don't think that will gonna happen.

DS Lite is the most popular model out of the 4 DS models which is why there is a bounty on this forum

I agree that the 3DS will be more effective in terms of library of games (DS, DSiware, 3DSware, 3DS and Virtual Console) but at the same time I'm sure that the 3DS board will be different than the DS Lite by having 3 cameras, the gyro sensor and the mic.

It's very unlikely atm. What's going to suck is that 3DS has reigon lock so you probably need to mod more than 1 3DS if you were going to produce game footage that were released from either Japan, Europe/Aus or the US/Can. Unless some Freeloader accessory enables gamers to try out (3)DS(i)Ware) games you can only get via eShop.

I understand, but again, I first have to learn about how to modify something myself, before I do something like that.
Remember me saying I brought that modified DS, instead of making it myself?
I'm sure about the 3DS being different, but that doesn't stop me.

I also know about the region lock, it annoys me too.
But when the time comes, I'll start modifying the 3DS that comes out locally (in my case, EU).
As soon as I know how, then I can start making foreign region's 3DS's (JP and US).
Don't expect that happening to soon, because drivers en apps have to be rewritten too.
Plus I'm more of an System Administrator, rather than a programmer or builder, so I expect that I don't start modding sooner than a first price drop (spending € 750,- for 3 3DS's is a lot of money).

Yeah, I must have overlooked my previous post :s. I think buying a modded 3DS is a better word or I was trying to say this
If 'reigon unlock' never existed you would need at least 3 Capture Modded 3DS's (one from each major reigon) to record the entire library.

I don't think any of us were expecting you to be a millionare :P. Take your time, the 3DS launch price is pretty high I admit. I guess competitions, lottery or some fortunate donator  are the only quick ways to get another 3DS.

I stumbled across something while searching around the net.  I don't think this is our complete solution for the DS Lite situation, but it should get us a step closer to video out.  I'm sure we probably won't get any more info from this particular thread (since it's 2 years old), but it's a start.

Did you know this could help a lot?
But I still don't start, until I have a 3DS, since walking around with a DS, of which cable sticks out of the DS, looks kinda weird.
They were looking weird at me, when I had it at work for one day.

But still, thanks!
These pinouts were exactly what I needed to know.
Stand: Devil's Call in your Heart
one step closer.

another idea i had was opening a Game Boy Player and try to wire it with a DS to make things easier since the GBP outputs to the GC already so we could save a few steps and materials. problem is that i don't have the proper screwdriver to open the GBP and basically no info on it.
Fucking Weeaboo
Nah, that won't work.  The way it works is via a port in the GCN itself, and is only turned on via the GBP Disc.  Trying to force a video out that way won't work at all.
i don't see what the problem is if the gamecube thinks it's a gbp.
Fucking Weeaboo
Isn't like, half the video gonna be missing due to the resolution being all wrong?
i suppose so, if you don't change that. no idea how easy they made it to do that. there's definitely enough lines on the tv to display one of the screens, though.

Well, as an alternative to donating me a 3DS, you can buy a DSi or 3DS through the affilate links on the right of my site (username = website URL).
These links are powered by Play-Asia, and the more people buy a DSi or 3DS through these links, the more money I get to buy any product at Play-Asia.
I can also post more links, but that would be more work to get them on that small sidebar.

It's not a problem to buy a 3DS myself, but I already pre-ordered an European 3DS, and a Japanese 3DS would count as a second 3DS, and so I can try to Tweak on it.
I mean, I'm just a 19 year old girl, and my work doesn't pay me, I get money from something we call "Uitkering" (I don't know how I can explain that in English, and I even don't know if there's such a thing in America at all).
It's not much, but enough to buy 1 3DS per month, but in a month where I don't have to pay my domains and servers, which are just 2 months a year.

Thanks to Chinese site TGBus.
It's a start for now  *wishes that someone does a close up shot on the main circuit board*

Edit: Image removed due to hotlinking

Uh, they don't like hotlinking.  I've attached the image to this post.

A lot more images in the link below

Including a close up on the main circuit board.
Fucking Weeaboo
Looking at the circuit board, I see some similarities to how the video screens connect to the board on this compared to the DS Lite.  Therefore I suspect if we figure out complete how to solder up a DS Lite, the same concept should work on a 3DS.  (P6 likely for the top screen, P8 for the bottom.)

Wow, 3DS now already disassembled?
That's sooner than I thought, great!
Just one problem: The Home/Select/Start button kinda bug me.
Reason:
3DS buttons are here:

The cable on my DS is here:

Sorry for posting a huge photo, it's a photo from my phone.
I can't wait to take the whole thing to work, so I can play around with it, and my DS Lite, but I'd first wait on my 3DS.

And now for the good news:
I've been looking a little closer to the Jumbotron site, and he mentioned that the USB 2 Module is Cypress EZ-USB FX2LP.
I thought, strange, the one I have is from Digilent, not from Cypress.
Then I went to the Cypress site, searched on "FX2LP", and I got the serial: CY7C68013.
Next, I've been looking on the Digilent site itself, and guess what? That module is Cypress!
I got a full list of possible modules:
http://www.cypress.com/?id=193

After looking at the amount of pins (I/O's), I could delete a lot from my list of possibillities, transforming the list of 21 possibillities into 4 possibillities.
The rest seems to be the same, but at least I know one of the 6 have to be my USB Module, but I don't know which one.
If I knew that, I could update the YH-NITRO-CAPTURE site with one that is in stock.
I can contact the Jumbotron guy, but I know it would take up a month to get an answer (the fastest reply was 10 days).
That way, building more capture devices in 2011 will be possible again, as all these modules are in stock, and most them can be brought.
To bad they don't display any photo's, that would make it a lot easier for me, since I know exactly how it looks like.
Fucking Weeaboo
Ask and ye shall receive!  Here's an image of the EZ-USB FX2LP board.

And good luck trying to reach the Jumbotron guy.  I tried emailing him months ago, but never got a response.

Blue?
Mine is green, and it has the pins differently.
That one looks to different, but if that one is compatible with mine, there would be only 2 options left:

http://www.cypress.com/?mpn=CY7C68013A-128AXI
If I get home in 7 hours, I'll take a look at my module (I'm currently at work).

I'm back with the photo's of the USB Module:

As you can see, it's really small, compared to the DS.
Sadly, there's nothing special written on it, but the Logo, URL, Item Name, and Copyright.

No luck for now.
I usually get response within so many days, but now I'm still waiting.
DS Dictator
The Japanese have got their 3DS systems and there is a small easter egg that you can play DS classics in a Native Resolution (DS Phat screen size, iirc) by holding Select + Start while the game is booting up. Kinda helps in touch screen heavy based games like Pokémon Ranger which is pretty much nothing but drawing circles around a Pokémon.

I got to try out the 3DS at Game in Reading last weekend as a suprise during the Pokémon Celebi event. It was pretty cool and bizzare at the same time.

As I said before, I wouldn't count on a response.  I emailed him some time back and didn't get a response at all.
