This is for the creator of the Doom 3 speed run. It's easily one of my favorite game speed runs, but I feel it would be even better (And I know this is gonna sound stupid) if you insert the cut scenes into it because it would flow better to just sit back and wat the story unfold. You got the ending cut scene in there, so it'd be nice to see the others. The Area 51 speed run did this I think. Just a suggestion of course, but it'd be really kick ass, for me at least, if that was done.
Thread title:
RTFM

If it is possible, you HAVE to skip it.
I'm going to quote the FAQ for speed runs here...

The runs are great but they skip the cutscenes! I wanted to see the game's plot!
Too bad. This isn't a cutscene or plot site. If a game allows cutscenes to be skipped, then we require runners to skip them, and they are probably not interested in watching them for the hundredth time, either.

Before, Radix would penalize anyone who left skippable cutscenes by making it count as part of the time if the game had no in game timer (Though I don't remember what he did in scenarios where the cutscene time didn't go into the ingame's timer to begin with).  Now it's just a blanket "If you can skip it, SKIP IT."  Besides, the run doesn't benefit at all from the in-game movies, especially seeing as they have so little storyline to add in comparison to what the NPCs and Kelly/Elizabeth I think her name is, has to add.  Not to mention that I doubt a person'll redo the run for 5 minutes of cutscenes.

There's a few runs on this site that still have the cutscenes in tact just because they're unskippable in the first place.  I think Area 51 is one of those games, along with God of War and games of the sort.  The ending in the Doom 3 games aren't skippable without leaving the game and going back to the main menu, so it's left in.
That's what I said  Wink

If I ever did a game where no one would even think of competing against the time, say a 100% run of San Andreas, then I would include cutscenes. MUAHAHAHAHA!
Sleeping Terror
And then your run wouldn't be accepted and nobody would care.
Does anyone know of any sites that have cut scenes from games to download and view?

This has me sort of mistified. I mean, the game is over anyway, so if you exit to the main menu, isn't that the same as skipping the cutscene?

It also has some relevance to me, as I actually let the final cutscene in my run of Red Faction. Ironically, this is the only cutscene in the game which you actually can skip (as in, I press any button, and the cutscene and the subsequent ending credits get skipped and I'm in the main menu), but I left it in, because I could remember from the Doom 3 and Morrowind that they had left it in, so I thought it was okay. Not that it's really a problem, I can either cut it out in VDub, or I can simply redo the final segment, if it's not allowed.
King n00b!
Ending scenes are left in I guess because it really doesn't matter.. It has nothing to do with time anymore. The ones while you're playing count as time.
Lots of people skip them simply because they've seen them about a billion times, and are sick of looking at them.

I was going to leave them in the doom3 run, but radix told me to kill them.
Oh, that sucks. Would you know of any sites that has cut scenes from video games, to download?

Any speedrunning site that I know of takes them out.. Only ones that I know of that have the cutscenes in, are the ones that you can't skip at all.

I thought it would be cool to see runs with the scenes intact, but I was just following rules.

How about simply playing the games? ;-)
Because my computer isn't good enough to run any newer games and I'm not gonna pay for a new computer since I can't exactly afford it right now.

1. I wouldn't host it here.

2. I think people WOULD care.

3. Poop, Poop, Banana!
I think it would do the opposite.  I mean, sitting there watching the Doom guy slowly listen in on a conversation and then suddenly burst off at full speed?  Doesn't seem to flow very well to me.
