Found a way to Dupe Actors in Japes, unfortunately the only way to do it is to carry an actor between loading zones repeatedly out of bounds it seems. Not useful at all but makes some hilarious results, mostly having the game lag so hard walls are an absolute joke

So is anyone working on routing No Major Skips for this game? I would be interested in running that if someone could make a route for it. I'm terrible at routing things so I don't think I'd be much help :/
Yes, a cucco riding the ground.
There's some route discussion starting here. I don't think anyone is currently working on it.

Damnit, I've wanted to do this run for like 2 years and no one has ever finished a route for it D:
jarvitz has a "glitchless" route but i have no idea how good it is.

I found this yesterday (Well, like 3 months ago, really. But I didn't realize what it could do until yesterday.):

I doubt it would be useful somehow considering how broken the game is already as well as its limited way to activate it among other things. But check it out.
EDIT: Just noticed that this glitch allows you to jump straight through solid gates. Atleast it works with Chunky on that gate in particular. Gonna experiment some more.
Yes, a cucco riding the ground.
Interesting find. I might play around with it.

I tested it some more today and here are the results:

Here are some tricks:

These could be useful if we could find a way to activate the glitch anywhere.
these could be useful for 101%. I noticed this glitch before but i've never angled so much to clip through everything. Do you need to hit the thorn bush in fungi to activate this?
Yes, as it is now, hitting the thorn bush in FF is the only way to activate this. You need to swim straight up when hitting the bush and you'll skew so much that it'll look like you're lying on the ground. Did you use this exact method too when you discovered it? I actually discovered this a few months ago, ending up not skewing that much and didn't realize what it could do. It wasn't untill 2 days ago that figured out how to make this more efficient.

If done correctly...
I've gotten close to getting this trick to work on DK Isles using a bee that was stuck on the ground. I'll record a video if I get it to work.

Edit: I couldn't get this trick to work on DK Isles, but I was able to do it in other levels:
Nice! I never got around to try or even think about if that would work, great work discovering that! So all it takes is that you take damage in water while falling back on ground?
If done correctly...
I think so. Of course, you still need to face almost completely upwards in order to clip through anything.

I see. So in other words, you must be above leveled ground when taking damage? What would happen if you took damage while facing a steep slope going downwards?
And by the way, I almost laughed myself to death when you turned into Rambi!!!
If done correctly...
Yeah, that part with Rambi is great. I can't find any places where I can test out your idea, but I assume nothing different would happen. I'll test out your idea if I find any new areas where this trick works.
Dude, this saves a minute in 101% now. You can use this to clip into the tree with chunky in castle skipping baboon blast completely and it fits perfectly into the route Smiley idk where else this can be useful yet.
Quote from cfox7:

What about DK? Wouldn't you have to do it twice then, or is there a trick that I don't know about?
DK can orange clip in really easily, chunky was too big for an orange clip though. and you go straight from the water to the tree in the old route with chunky so this fits perfectly
Oh right, I totally forgot about that. Then it will save a little time, it's good to see that this has become a little useful. If there only was a way to activate it anywhere.
it works in a lot of places, ill have to go through the 101 again sometime and see. This just makes sub 7 that much easier Smiley
With the addition of Skew Walk being useful for a new route in Fungi and getting into the Tree in castle with Chunky allowing us to skip the Baboon Blast. I found this while messing around today.

Needless to say, I was excited :p
Nice! All these recent discoveries pushed me to try running this game. The problem is that I don't have the US version of the game and now I'm learning on a japanese version (my US one will arrive in 2 weeks normaly). For the fairy banana island I have to do a detour from the bottom of the DK island but it's not a big deal. The real problem is that I can't do the moontail to reach the factory early. Was this trick fixed in the japanese version or am I doing it wrong?

PS : thank you cfox for your any% beginner tutorial, it helped me a lot and I'm waiting for the expert one!
If done correctly...
I've gotten angle skew to work without taking damage:

You can clip with the angle skew in this video by walking off an edge and hugging a wall, but I doubt this will be useful in a run.
ok, thanks to RingRush I understood my mistake : I didn't have any crystals ^^
It has finally been done, Sub 7 hour 101% Smiley

RTA timing was 6:56:54. Going to go for sub 6:50 i think
