Hi all, and sorry in advance for my bad english. :V
Recently, I found a video game called "Disney's 102 Dalmatians: Puppies to the Rescue" who was at my opinion really fun to play.
In the game, you have to save dalmatians, but I found that you could simply go to the end of the stage directly instead of saving dogs.
That's why I tried to speedrun it.

I think noone had done a speedrun of it before, so I looked at the way to finish it as fast as possible.

I divide the timer into 4 parts,
each segment consists of 5 stages with cruella at the end.

my best time is: 37:00
it's a single segment

I think it can be sub 35, but you have to take shortcuts and not fail any jumps like I do :V

the 4th stage Big Ben is the most difficult stage to speedrun, because if you fail a jump, you can lose 15-20 seconds easily.

at 4:17 in my video, you can take a shortcut by directly jumping into the turning tube instead of jumping into the gears.
I didn't do it because it's not an easy jump, and if you fail, you lose a lot of time, and the gain is like only 1 or 2 seconds.
at 5:07, I failed a jump, but it's not a big loss.
at 5:40, I think you can jump into the next platform instead of taking all the platform but I haven't tried it
at 5:49, the 3 tubes going up. for the 2 firsts tubes, you can jump immediately at the second tube just before he goes up, the timing is not easy but you win like 5 seconds if you do it.
here i couldn't because the tube was already going up when I arrived.
at 6:01, maybe you can jump directly to the right, I haven't tried yet.
cruella I's pattern is really easy
at 8:00, I failed a hit because I thought that firing the fruit before she comes would save time, but the fruit don't go ahead, so I lost like 5 seconds.
at 10:30, when you're falling off the pyramid you have a boost of speed.
at 11:50, when you are in the water, I think jumping and doing a barrel roll ahead can save time
at 14:04, you can directly jump to the right instead of jumping ahead with the bird
I failed a jump and lost ~18 seconds here.
for cruella II, you can't shoot a watermolon on cruella when she's moving. I tried but I didn't found any other way that waiting that she stops moving.
at 17:04, you have to no go too much to the right or a cutscene occurs, an enemy appears and you lose like 4 seconds.
at 18:35, I took the wrong route, you can go faster by just going ahead the windmill
each time, you have to speak to the pig or the next script don't occur, that's why I return to the pig each time.
at 19:28, if you are lucky, you can put 2 birds or 3 in a same scream instead of doing them separately. I didn't here.
at 22:02, it's faster to continue with the birds road instead of returning to the pig.
cruella III: my brain just bugged for 2-3 seconds before realising that I had to shoot the things before cruella.
well here, you have to shoot the things and charge the weapon.
you don't have to wait the weapon to be charged to move it, so you can move it when it's charging.
i lost a lot of time here.
28:45 : the forest, a stage where I'm not sure if there is a faster way to finish the level.
maybe with the shortcut under the tree.
at 30:12, you don't have to wait to the ball to pass, you can be hit and save time.
at 30:44, when the pieces are turning, you can move the dog, so you can solve the puzzle faster than I did.
at 32:50, don't miss the shortcut
at 33:33, if you don't fail the jump, you can save some time instead of turning around. well I failed the jump.
at 34:50, no useful shortcuts on the gears, except at 35:30 where you can skip the final gear and going to the exit.

Wow thanks for trying to speed run this game. It just brings back so much memories. First of all, I must say that I have never attempted a speed run before. I tried to speed run this game a few days ago out of fun and I wanted to see if anybody ever tried speedrunning this game before. That's how I saw your attempt. My time was 39:25 but I fell of both screws once each in the first room of Big Ben and I also fell off the last gear in the fifth room. I also didn't know you could access the door to the fourth room that fast in the third room. I had no sense of direction in Royal Museum. In Barnyard, I completely forgot about the key to start the tractor and before that I fail at getting the chickens back to the coop. I went to the wrong place during the fourth task and I thought you had to get the present. For Hedge Maze, I didn't know you could just roll through the ball thing so I waited for it to pass. I didn't take the shortcut in the first room in Toy Factory either. Nevertheless, I finished with 39:25. I do think it can be under 35 minutes too. I only watched the first video though so if you improved on anything in your second video but I still suggested the same thing, I apologise beforehand.

For Cruella I, what I did was that I hit the bell to stun her, then only firing at her. After she gets hit, go back and sound the bell again immediately so she is stunned again, then fire at her again. Repeat until she loses.

For Royal Museum, it is possible to jump off the railings to the bottom floor when you are trying to get the coin.

For Underground, I actually took the other route to get to the whirlpool. I jumped into the hole on the right of the room and off the narrow trail. I'm not sure if that saves time however.

For Cruella II, I didn't wait for her to stop before firing the melons at her. I got lucky and managed to get accurate all four times but with practice its definitely possible.

For countryside, I jumped off the cliff before the cave to skip the cave entering animation. I took the bottom route. Once again, I'm not sure if this is faster.

For Barnyard, I think it's possible to just roll through the piece of wood in the windmill. I wonder if you could get all chickens into the coop in one bark though. They have to be really close together. Since the places are far from the pig, I wonder if you could purposely die to save time.

For Ice Festival, I did not jump on all the ice platforms. I jumped out of the water onto the ledge then only onto the final two platforms. Not sure if this saves time.

For Cruella III, the first block can be hit immediately after the cutscene. When you could hit Cruella directly, try to lure her to one of the sides. Then just keep firing away without moving away from the position. She will not move for a short while after you hit her and that gives you time to reload and hit her again. Just do this three times and she's easily defeated. I noticed that you shifted the catapult to a place where she will be totally open before firing but it is possible to hit her from anywhere, even when she's behind the wall.

For Spooky forest, I took the shortcut in the tree to the area where there with wooden stonehenge-like structures. Not sure if you could reach the place with the trampoline just before the exit area though.

For Toy Factory, in the last room, it is possible to get to the ledge with the first switch without jumping onto the gear. I think you can jump to the second ledge from the first gear too. You can skip the last gear too.

Well, that's my suggestions. I don't have any equipment to record the videos so I wouldn't be submitting a speed run anytime soon. I also can't find time to do this. Anyway, I really hope your run could be published and I am very happy that someone is doing a speed run on one of my favourite childhood games. Thank you and I wish you the best of luck.

There is one gear that is not skippable anyway.

Anyway, I did 34:05 yesterday, before reading your comments and by doing a lot of errors and using safe strats (because I haven't played this game for months).
The 4th level is by far the boringest level of the game, so hard to run.
80% of my runs are failed because of this fucking 4th level.
The video is actually in preparation.
The video should be there in ~6 hours.

With all your comments, if they are all true, I think I can sub 33m the game easily, even maybe sub 32.

There is one gear that is not skippable anyway.

This is THE URN (31:53) using the new strats :

I think, this is improvable for at least 40 seconds.
1 chicken, 1 tractor, the wind at the last stage, cruella III and IV trolled me
I failed a jump at the last stage too.

I'll try to sub 31 the game when I'll have time.

Very very impressive stuff. So, I guess a good speed run on this game boils down to precision and luck? If we can get the chickens 3/3 and Cruella 2 4/4, surely that would be great. I really hate the camera angle in the game sometimes, makes me roll into walls and stuff.

Now, seeing your run, I believe under 30 is actually possible. I never encountered a single glitch throughout all my years of playing though. If more people could work together, I believe we could find some. You know, like those in the Zelda series. It would be great if we could say, skip all the tasks in Royal Museum and Barnyard. I mean, the level gate is right there but we can't access it until we finish the tasks. I usually spend 3-4 mins on Royal Museum and 5+ in Barnyard. I hate the chickens. When I first tried to die on purpose to save time, I actually got killed by the tractor before the rooster scene. I had to redo the entire task and I was pissed. Moral of the story: wait for cutscene then commit suicide. By the way, there is a tractor in the corner of the area after the tunnel and I usually run into that one. I believe you don't have to charge into the tractor, it will just hit you then reverse and hit you again. Not too sure about this.

You couldn't skip it even if you could wall clip because the exit only appears when you did all the tasks.
There is actually 1 wall clip on barnyard doable between the tractor and the but it only saves like 3 or 4 seconds.

I recently picked this game up because a friend is running it. After I raced it blind and she beat me by about two hours, I decided to go glitchhunting! After all, it's a Crystal Dynamics game and I now how to break these Wink

Here are two things I found, I have no idea if they are known:

The first is obviously only useful for a 100% (or an "all puppies" category, which I would find a cool thing). Both tricks are very precise and probably not worth using, as they only save very small amounts of time.

wow, the second skip is great. looks hard to do.
the first skip is useless for me, because I only run the any% category.
if you make any any% single segment of this game in video, I'd be very happy to see that.

Have you guys tried doing the bonus levels fast? I tried it one or two years ago and I'm pretty sure I managed to get a 58.5 on the Ice Race with Priscilla the pig and also like a ridiculously low time on the bonus level where you're a ball trying to not fall down the holes. I think my time there was around 18-19 seconds, if not lower.

I will definitly try the second skip. Maybe today in our race. Just maybe ^^ I think I also go for a 100% run. I´ve got plently of time tomorrow, so I will try it. Thanks for finding these two out Wink
