By the way, here's a video of my new strategy for the first train tunnel Diorama:

Heavy Metal Powered
Nice one, I should have thought of that when watching your runs...

After manually adding in some "best segment" splits based on test runs I did via the Level Select option, my theoretical best is now 1:20:24.29, so sub-1:25:00 shouldn't be too far away now!  I just need to get a decent run together.... :/

Also a rundown on my new Autotopia strategies.

No, your eyes are not broken.

Looking really solid now. Are you planning on submitting when you're happy with your time?

Quote from Warepire:

I'd love to, except my local recordings are nowhere near high-quality enough yet to submit.  I don't even know if my PC can handle streaming and super-high-quality recording at the same time.

Lazy picture-in-picture leads to unintentional hilarity.

We have a new strategy now for rescuing the gremlin in Blot Alley.  In a co-op run, the old method would be faster.

aka theenglishman
Bad news: this next run is not a world record. (Okay so the run is actually fairly good up until Prescott's Mech.  Don't watch past the ride Floatyard.)

Good news: it looks much nicer than before, due to my attempts to get OBS to record SDA-worthy video.

I'm still working on any%, but I've also started a routing a new category: perfectionist%, which completes all sidequests in the game, thus getting the Perfectionist achievement.  Stay tuned.

I had such a great run going just now which completely fell apart at Fort Wasteland (the Slobber quick-kill failed), and the hatchet was buried in the Floatyard, when Oswald spawned inside the eye door and then I failed the second half of the Prescott skip.

On the plus side, I improved my theoretical best splits:

I will submit a run to SDA once I get 1:16 or 1:17.

I just got a 1:18!  Since I'm not sure when I'll be able to do more EM2 stuff in the near-future, I'm going to try and submit it, and see how that turns out.

aka theenglishman
And all of a sudden, any% is alive and kicking again!  A new trick and a route change (using paint on the Slobber, as the paint path to Prescott is way way faster and skips an annoying DEC) and I hope to be getting 1:15.

Heavy Metal Powered
Those are some clever things. But what's with all the pausing?

Looking forward to seeing all this in a run!
aka theenglishman
Warepire, the pausing is what allows me to cycle quickly through the otherwise unskippable dialogue.  Read the YouTube video description for more info.

So you know that stupid spring with the Shadow Blot on it in the third diorama, the one that's been giving me so much trouble cranking because it's so random and stupid?

...You can just thin out the spring.
