I want off the ride....
Sooo i'm going to move this up because well the game is doing better.

The game is also fun with a gamepad (i personally use a Ps2 controller and it works fine so far). There are a lot of things to see and the game only gets more of a challenege..

Though I wonder if yama will remember to try this out... if he is ever free to.
I want off the ride....
MOAR PEOPLE NEED TO PLAY! Yama played some more and well I think he enjoys the game.. though I think he hates my grappler now (We did some practice PvP his under leveled Priest vs my Grappler...winner is the dirty cheater me)...

but yeah people! If you havea  USB gamepad seriously play and try out DFO! Its great!
Waiting hurts my soul...
I was really getting into this, decided what characters I wanted to play. Started creating them, and then got a message saying I could only create two characters per day. I haven't played since. I'm the type of player that creates too many characters and doesn't go very far in the game until I find a character that I can get into. Unfortunately it wouldn't let me do that until the next day, and since then I've been spending my time on other games.
My feelings on The Demon Rush
I finally started playing this game a couple of weeks ago and it's a lot of fun! A lot of old school beat 'em up basics work (group enemies, approach from an angle, don't be near bosses when they get up), and you get to play coop with other people (okay in my case it's just me and raneofsotn :P).

The only thing I'm not a huge fan of is the fatigue system, but you have to play for a good 3-4 hours before you drain yourself completely, so it's not a big deal.

RaneofSOTN: I do enjoy the game, even if your grappler is a dirty cheater. Wink (or more like, underleveled priests don't have enough skills to win against a grappler)

Zenic: If that's a problem, then try out two characters a day? You only get 5 classes to start off with, so you can at least get a basic feel for the characters. You can reach level 10 in a couple of hours, and then you'll have some skills to try out.

To be honest.. in 1 Fatigue Bar; you can get up to level 17 (if you know what you are doing and are skilled in beat-em ups)

The fatigue bar is a problem for anyone who plays a lot, but I see it as a rationing tool... it keeps yama from wasting all day on DFO until he gets more characters...

I have no problem coaching people and helping them out from 1-18 and possibly a little farther.. Just ask yama, I made a character to help him out and play with him from 1-20 so far. I have other characters and its not a big deal.. since fatigue is character specific... So if you have 2-3 characters; you'd have to play all day to kill your time...

Realistically if you can handle MMO aspects and Brawler skillz, then you can probably hit 10 in about an hour... to an hour and half. (Except for the mage... she kinda sucks between 1-18; shines after 18).

I wanna get a cult of SDA-ers on this! Give yama some more people to play with... and give Glamador and I some actual good party members...
I want off the ride....
Okay with Yama going away on vacation for a month... Come on people! this is your time to catch up with yama and play with us. We really could use the hand! Hell we've even made new characters and leveled them up.

I have no problem helping/playing with a group of people! Lets get it going... If you thought the game was boring solo, try it with a party first.. Thats where real fun gets had

If you don't like it at the end of the day.. I'm really sorry but try it before you knock it!
Waiting hurts my soul...
Let me tell you, I hear leveling a mage is a pain solo, but I wouldn't know it since I partied with Rane and Mike this past weekend. It went very smoothly. Definitely a group style game for dungeons. Only thing I might be able to complain about is that groups appear to be limited to 4 players. Currently our characters are 21 - 22, so if you want to catch up feel free to, but I think we'd also be willing to make a couple new characters. Getting up to 21 takes about 2 days (4 - 5 hours a day). I can only play on weekends, but I know Mike and Rane play throughout the week sometimes.
You assholes should play DFO, or else I auto-reject your run. It is beat 'em up fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuunnnnnnnnnnn, and you have time to catch up to my levels.

P.S. Beer festivals in Europe are fun. Cheesy
Talk to the Hand
So it's a brawler...and you can use a gamepad....

One question: Can I make a character who looks like Former The Guy Mayor Mike Haggar? And crack down on crime by piledriving people through windows?
I want off the ride....

Of course you can't!

but you can make a woman who could crack down by pile driving everyone! i do it daily! (Grappler ftw)

but yeah; you totally should play!

Also anyone who uses the IRC you can join #DFO on the same server as #SDA and thats where I normally hang out. Zenic / Yama and anyone else who plays dfo can meet up there! i also try to keep the topic pertinent to any events going on.
I want off the ride....
OK OK!

Everyone really needs to play now, they are starting to add awakenings! They have added in the first set!

GRAPPLERS, BLADEMASTERS, RANGERS, and SUMMONERS are the first to get theirs. For partying with one (for being one) you get at least 10% bonus exp for a party of and 20% for party of 3+

That means partying up with these guys makes you level faster

They are also including !10! life tokens per starting character instead of the normal 5... that means that starting and learning is now easier!

COME ON PEOPLE PWAY!

A showering of free time would be nice. As it is, I'm seriously considering taking a break from speedrunning once I've completed Vandal Hearts. I need to spend more time on getting a better job (like a career type position), which includes bolstering my portfolio. There are also other projects that I've been putting off for far too long. Once I have a steady flow for those two though, I hope to have more time to spend playing games. So, most likely no more DFO for me anymore. That weekend was fun though, maybe I'll join again if there's another one of those double experience events.

Anyone considering playing this game, but afraid it'll suck up way too much time shouldn't worry though. You really can't spend more than 3 - 4 hours a day. There's a fatigue bar that once drained means you can't enter dungeons any longer.
I want off the ride....
Guilds are coming the 28th; i know i've heard of someone else playing DFO!
Seriously with noob-o-meter off; i can help anyone with anything, and all will be well. Also on the 28th I will be personally setting up the SDA guild on DFO. This will allow anyone of SDA origins to be able to party together, without worries about levels, or anything! I hope that the movement will come soon.!
I want off the ride....
The guilds are here. SDA is made! I am currently running it as its just basically me who is trying to get everyone into the game.

So now you can't complain that you don't know when SDA people are on. And as long as you all are in SDA we can party (regardless of level) because guilds aren't noob-o-meter restricted!

Come on join in!

Message me in game (see first post) or on IRC or other messengers and I will add you into the guild!

Thanks

RaneofSOTN
Waiting hurts my soul...
I will see about logging in to join tonight. Can you just send me an invite or do we both have to be logged in at the same time for me to join? Maybe people can post their character names here and you can add them if we don't need to be on at the same time.

Name -> Character Name

ZenicReverie -> Qycx

you have to be on at least at the same time as someone else in the guild and notify them. I've been making all SDA people senior members giving them free access to invite people... So thats how its going to work.

Okay a couple of things.

One, the game has been officially released, which doesn't actually mean a whole lot for new players (unless if you choose one of the class mentioned in the link), except you can buy some nice bonus stuff to get you started off. http://dungeonfighter.nexon.net/News/Content.aspx?boardNo=200&contentNo=007w1&pageIndex=1

Two, there are now female gunners! You might be wondering what the difference between them and male gunners are. The big difference being that they're female. Tongue

Anyway, the game is still fun, Cromarty can confirm that for you because he's been playing a lot ever since.

If you need help choosing a character, one of us can help you. Between the three of us (me, rane and cromarty), we can cover most of the classes pretty well. And we'll gladly help you with any questions you have. Also, rane has a good noob guide in the first post.
@_@
I'm planning to get this sometime soon. Having people around to help out a new player is definitely a plus cause I'll probably be at a loss as to where to start.
We all scream for Eyes Cream
So I'm thinking about trying it out. What's a good class to use for someone who likes killing everything? Tongue

Uhm any class; they all can kill but mages are annoying between 1-18!
so.. that works
Suggestions
Ranged - Soul bender, Asura, Elementalist, Witch, Magic Exo, Nen Master, All non-mech gunners,
Melee - Berserker, BladeMaster, Battle Mage, Exo, Crusader, Monk, Brawler, Striker, Grappler
ETC? - Summoner, Mech

So... just pick one and rape.
We all scream for Eyes Cream
Well I mean like which one's good for clearing mobs out fast, but I think I made my decision anyway. Gonna go with Slayer, but I have no idea what class advancement I should go for. Berserker seems nice, as does Soul Bender, so I gotta decide between the 2.

Based on what you said, it seems each character/class is equally balanced, though I'm sure I'm just overthinking it. Game's downloading now but I won't be able to play till later tonight.
My feelings on The Demon Rush
I wouldn't say all of the classes are equally balanced (that's , but I would say every class can do well if you play them right.
from red to blue
Guys, I'd begin playing but for some reason they decided to not allow anyone outside of North America in...
So am I doomed to not play something awesome? (proxies don't count, too slow...)

Yeah sorry Kryal, unless if they make a version for Europe (or simply open it up to Europe), you're out of luck.
